These look sooo much better than the store bought fish fingers, that looked grey and 'pre-chewed' 😉 TFS 👍💖

These are delicious and I'm not a fish lover. Because cod is flaky, meaty and not fishy, it's the only real fish I enjoy. These fish fingers are equally fab to have as a proper sit down meal, or in a sandwich as a snack 😉👍

I'm the same, I prefer 'non fishy' fish like Cod and Salmon! @@AirFryerFella

Using cod fillets must be so much better for you than processed fish. I like the posh sandwich version! 😋Are you using a micro planer for zesting the lemon? It looks very efficient? I struggle to find a decent zester.

It's just hand held grater. I bought this one from Home Sense, but I'm sure you'd find one in Lakeland or even the cooking section in Tesco 😉

Thank you. 🙏 I love these - had them all ways, but they're particularly great in a sandwich! 😋

I am new to the air fryer. I read that to get crispy fish coating, start cooking with the fish frozen so the coating gets crisp before the fish over-cooks. Could these be prepared, frozen, then air-fried?

I haven't heard of that, but I can tell you that the nature of the air fryer, with it's high-speed forced hot air circulating around the food, does work well at getting the outside crispy, as long as you don't over wet them with oil and you don't over crowd the pan. The cod loin fillet I use does cook quickly and is lovely and flaky and tender, and it's cooked in literally 8-9min. I think the thing with air fryers is you have to experiment a bit to get to know our own model. It's worth having a go with them frozen - if you try it, let me know how it works. If you're cooking a small portion for yourself, you won't be in any danger of them steaming themselves, and if you cook them without any oil (which would make them healthier too) at around 190°C (375°F) for about 9 mins, turning them halfway, the outside should be crisp and the inside should be cooked perfectly 👌😉
