The young Michigan man was running up the tunnel to see his father who drives up from Texas to see his son at each home game.........the son loves his father.

I heard someone say if Michigan State players had the energy to gang up on the Michigan player in the tunnel then they didn’t play hard enough. Completely agree Steve, the behavior from MSU was disgusting and the players (there were clearly more than 4 involved) should be expelled for this.

In the case of penn state Michigan followed protocol to allow the opposing team into their locker room prior to entering the tunnel. Penn state then went into their locker room and came back out as Michigan was trying to enter their locker room and blocked them and threw food at them. Penn state went out of its way to try and intimidate Michigan only to get punked on the second half. These are two entirely different scenarios but people are trying to push a narrative Michigan is doing something to create these environments.

As an OSU fan, I was trying to enjoy a great rivalry in the conference after watching OSU v. PSU. Instead I got a slog of a game, which was fine and I wish Michigan did better in the redzone to get the game out of reach and over with and make it an entertaining blowout. And then I see MSU go full Myles Garrett on one guy and jumping another guy. OSU fans hate Michigan and there have been fights on the field and bad blood in The Game, but that was disgusting.
Thats kinda the point, UM and OSU keep their fight between the lines, thats what classy, respectable programs do. Unfortunately lil sis msu cannot be considered classy or respectable and they showed their true charactor, or lack thereof.

About the only detail I recall about that game all these years later was being amazed that so many folks left early and didn't bother to stay around for the rest of the punishment (on the field, not like the sparty hoodlums from Saturday).

re: the tunnel incident, I am in complete agreement with Deace and Rogers. The MSU football team is a reflection of its head coach. Tucker offered the worst apology I've seen or heard. He should do it again and this time attempt to add passion and genuine contrition to it.

The reason this has not happened before is because they had COLLEGE students on the football team. Things are different now, colleges give scholarships to kids who arent students and put them in underwater basketweaving or general studies in lew of a read education. We need to eliminate all athletic scholarships. It works well for the Ivy League.

Good call on defending Ryan Day. Yes many have complained about his play-calling, but he absolutely is trying to ensure the Buckeyes are prepared for any situation this year, just in case airing it out in late November isn’t an option again. Sure “it’s snows in Columbus too”, but weather was not a factor just a week prior to Vs MSU and OSU threw a party. So they just assumed it would all be good the following week and it was ugly.
The rivalry is so bitter that something drastic needs to be done. Maybe the B1G conference should take Michigan- Michigan State game off the schedule for 10 years. By then all the players and couches on both teams should have moved on and the culture that created this hatred between the two teams will be gone.

Big Ten will likely either "pause" the rivalry (temporarily) by replacing MSU with another Big Ten opponent for 1-2 years or they may ask both universities to agree to play the game (temporarily) at a "neutral" site. Most often mentioned site: Ford Field in Detroit.

The play-calling is way too predictable and that shows in the red zone. If coaches are trying to keep stuff under wraps, it's OK; otherwise, it might be a hell of an issue.

Mark Rodgers podcast last night was revealing in that he head George call in and deliver probably the worst take on this that should make good people cringe. I predict it won’t age well especially when everything comes out. Also I’m done with Rico and Valenti after their moral obfuscation of the issue at hand (they admitted the players crossed lines and should be suspended at least). The reason this has not happened before is because they had COLLEGE students on the football team. Things are different now, colleges give scholarships to kids who arent students and put them in underwater basketweaving or general studies in lew of a read education.
We need to eliminate all athletic scholarships. It works well for the Ivy League.

Good call on defending Ryan Day. Yes many have complained about his play-calling, but he absolutely is trying to ensure the Buckeyes are prepared for any situation this year, just in case airing it out in late November isn’t an option again. Sure “it’s snows in Columbus too”, but weather was not a factor just a week prior to Vs MSU and OSU threw a party. So they just assumed it would all be good the following week and it was ugly.

Time of possession is a huge stat depending on how you like to play. For Michigan it’s huge. For osu not so much but it can definitely be a big stat

The rivalry is so bitter that something drastic needs to be done. Maybe the B1G conference should take Michigan- Michigan State game off the schedule for 10 years. Steve, two things can be true. It's time to have the same half time protocols in place for post game. There is no reason for Michigan players to be running up the opposing teams tunnels talking shit after games, period. The MSU players involved need to be suspended, period. Done.
Big Ten will likely either "pause" the rivalry (temporarily) by replacing MSU with another Big Ten opponent for 1-2 years or they may ask both universities to agree to play the game (temporarily) at a "neutral" site. Most often mentioned site: Ford Field in Detroit.

The play-calling is way too predictable and that shows in the red zone. If coaches are trying to keep stuff under wraps, it's OK; otherwise, it might be a hell of an issue.

Also I’m done with Rico and Valenti after their moral obfuscation of the issue at hand (they admitted the players crossed lines and should be suspended at least). To solve this tunnel issue is to put everyone on their best behavior is to install cameras and put signs up everywhere in the tunnel saying you are being surveillanced and from this point inside the tunnel if you fight you can be in legal trouble. Kids will think twice about doing that ever again.

So Ohio State just kept it conservative and didn’t open up the offense so the game was close? Is that really your take? Good lord. They were throwing the ball down the field the whole game. They actually didn’t run it as much because Miyan Williams got hurt early. Their surge at the end had nothing to do with opening up offense and everything to do with turnovers and a big Treveyon Henderson run.
