    If the diverter motor is good what's the next thing to do if the sprayer arms are not spraying water?

    Thank you.. The explanation is really useful But I have a dishwasher, only the middle and upper spray arm does not work. I do not know whether to replace the motor or look for another problem? My dishwasher model is close to this model

    Thank you for video instruction, what is the correct position for round seal? Which is the top side?

    This video was super helpful.
    I only had to change the diverter grommet. The motor was fine.

      Have the same issue... Dishwasher cycles normally, motor is good..... It drips water from the bottom... Assuming that seal is compromised... Can't just buy the grommet from Marcone though.... Where did you get the grommet??

    Question for anyone who can help. My dishwasher is leaking underneath the diverter shaft. I put a small Tupperware underneath to catch the water and it might leak around 8 ounces over a long cycle. In the above video (at around 6 min 50 seconds) he refers to the "seal" after he has installed the new diverter shaft through the bottom. I am assuming I might need to just replace this seal, since the diverter motor is functioning and I also see that the diverter motor does not come with a new seal. Is this seal replaceable? Is there a part number? Is this more like a rubber washer that I can pop in from the top (hopeful...) or is this part of a bigger component? Thank you!!

      Hi Eric, I would do an online search using the model number of your dw. Look for a site that has a parts diagram that includes the diverter motor - that diagram will also give you the name and part number for the seal, and will tell you if you can buy it separately or if it part of a package with other components. hope that helps!

    • @japerelectronics2568

      I don't think so, there is a seal that needs replacing that the motor diverter shaft goes through. I am also trying to find that part number. This was a major design issue having the diverter shaft rub on the gasket because it wears out over time. You can see it at the 6:48 minute mark.

    T15, and the grommet does NOT come with the pump you have to spend 80$ for the base. So 60$ for nthe diverter and 80 for the base for a 2$ oring that you can't get. Genius!

      Yeah, I expected to hear some cursing around that time. I think the trick is to disconnect both outflow tubes before trying to turn the diverter cover counterclockwise... It requires some force to disconnect both tubes, and care should be taken not to crack either one in the process!

    • @partselect
      @partselect  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Denny. Great question. These videos are designed to show the repair process, once the offending part has been identified. Having said that, the most common reasons to replace the Diverter motor are a dishwasher that is leaking, or won't clean dishes properly. Hope this helps!

    • @soundbreeze3981
      @soundbreeze3981 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      With all due respect to the experts at ParSelect, I don't think their answer is quite right, or not very explicit. The diverter allows the circulating water that is being forced through the system by the circulation pump to divert to either the upper and middle spray arms only, or the lower only, or both. I'll admit I don't fully know all the reasons why this capability is designed into the mechanism, but I know that, for example, some dishwashers have an "upper rack wash only" setting, that is supposed to be more economical, if you only want to fill the upper rack with dirty dishes and wash those without wasting water pressure on the bottom spray arm. That back wall spray unit also needs to be independently controlled for some settings. My Whirlpool dishwasher looks nearly identical to the one in this video, sans the back-wall sprayer. I've diagnosed that my upper and middle spray arms are not spraying (I've done all the usual easier suggestions like cleaning, inspecting for clogs, etc.). So I strongly suspected the diverter was stuck in a position to only supply the lower spray arm. However, when I opened up the sprayer supply manifold, just like in the video, there was NO DIVERTER disk, nor shaft from the diverter motor, sticking up. NO DIVERTER WHATSOEVER! I found this very strange for two reasons: (1) My dishwasher DOES HAVE an upper-rack wash only option on the keypad, so how can it do that without a diverter? and (2), how can it possibly be spraying nice and strong out of the bottom sprayer but nothing out of the middle and top sprayers, unless a diverter is causing that?
