Did this video change your mind on where Rose Quartz was originally from? Tell me if you think she was from Earth (as stated in Your Mother and Mine), or from a different colony!
I still think she was from earth as her powers seem uniquely organic based but that doesn’t mean that i think Garnets story was correct; Though i don’t believe she’s purposefully misleading us (unless she’s censoring herself for Steven, in which case, boo on you Garnet) i think she’s just retelling the version she knows. She didn’t join the CG until the rebellion was already in action so i don’t think she’d be privy to to much information prior to her joining; i don’t even think she told Pear everything, E.g Lion and her sword. Though you make really good points in this video so now i’m conflicted lol.
I think Rose has hidden a few truths and told the CGs slightly different stories so they keep their morale up when fighting for Earth. Because the truth is quite disturbing and could scare them into leaving (like lapis did). Pearl didn't even know about Lion and if Rose shattered pink diamond she didn't do it alone but took the full blame anyway. So I'm not suprised if Garnet isn't telling the full story, it's most likely what Rose has filtered for her knowledge.
Every time I hear them say "and then she used her sword to shatter pink diamond." I get so annoyed because we all know that the sword can destroy physical forms, but not shatter gems. And Steven KNEW that. But he won't say anything. And should've said something when he was on trial.
AJETT I don't know. The sword can probably break anything if given enough power, but the breaking point was created so it will be much easier and faster to shatter.
Fusion Party But Rose never used the breaking point. And even in real life you would need a LOT of pressure and a really sharp sword to shatter a diamond.
Garnet is not lying, just telling the “truth” she was told. Remember, Garnet never asks questions. Rose told her not to. Garnet knows that Rose kept secrets, but she doesn’t know the true scale of a couple of those secrets. She only shared said secrets with her Pearl.
Pearl is like a vault the owner has a lock that owner is Rose when the vault is opened there will ethier be nothing or something unknown a vault can't open itself which is why she covers her mouth each time she gets to let something out her mouth is the only clear way to know she can't open herself unless the owner rose opens it for her which means rose or pink would know she would have to open up eventually and with lion being something that should be with pearl and is not with pearl means that rose let something out that was supposed to be a secret but lion is also a vault which makes pearl feel replaced and old because Steven can get inside lion and reveal everything himself but with pearl her owner is gone and there is a lock which means that not only did rose keep something that was meant to be a secret and there a long time ago but it also means pearl finally got rid of half of the lock but since she couldn't open herself up to roses biggest secret she revealed everything she can in a way that is hard to decipher but tried to make it as easy as possible which also means pearl was not defective but she was to much of a good thing like water it's good for you but to much of it can make you die don't take any of my crap seriously I just wanted to do something
I don't think any of the gems stories are wrong it's just that they were told different versions of it and if Steven wants to know the truth, he must unbubble bismuth, sit down with all the gems and hear all their versions about rose quartz then put the true story together, piece by piece
Undernet 1. Totally possible, the crewniverse isn't known for keeping the lore of SU straight after all. 2. Agreed, if this is a retcon we're unaware of than it's undermining the lore of SU which means the fans can't understand the true lore of SU. 3. It's Either pearl at best, or at worst rose herself. In either case whichever person told her Rose's origin can't be trusted at all.
4. A gem being made in one place doesn’t mean they stayed there, for example the flashback shows both rose on earth and (presumably) going to see pink diamond on homeworls
There's also another theory, and that's that pink diamond is masquerading as rose quartz, so each and every time they talk about rose being from homeworld (i.e. rose and pearl herself) is a unintentional slip about rose's secret identity, where as the original rose was indeed made on earth.
I'm glad you agree, there are also a few other things that could back this up, for example, pink's diamond's gem is basically a sideways view of rose quartz's gem and the fusion rainbow quartz has a emblem of a half star and half diamond, a thing that only appears to that specific fusion and no other, and we know it's not from pearl since all of her other fusions have full stars, not to mention that rainbow quartz has a tanner complexion, which is odd since both of the fusee's have incredibly pale skin. If these don't scream foreshadowing then i don't know what.
That's possible. Greg did ask Rose in 'We Need To Talk' if she missed her "home planet" to that Rose replied, "No. Never." Its possible all the Rose Quartz soldiers were confiscated by White Diamond, after realizing she created them to benefit the life on Earth, not homeworld. Enraged, Pink may have assumed the identity of her own creations to fight back.
abloogywoogywoo but that's not the case, we know pink bubbled all of the rose quartzs. There are two ways this could've went down: one, pink secretly orchestrated the rebellion and placed rose as the figure head, keeping the bubbled roses as extras in case one shattered, or two, pink was sick of the war and the way the other diamonds treated her, and was jealous of rose, so she shattered her, and took her place to run away from her responsibilities.
Vissia It was Blue Diamond who bubbled all others Rose Quartz gems after the "Pink shattering". Even more, she is who keeps the zoo and the bubbled gems in memory of her fallen sister.
Yes, Sapphire can only see the future or possible futures (or timelines/rivers and pools), not the past. Or maybe another Rose Quartz shatter Pink Diamond and our Rose take the blame?
thank you garnet truly believes what she was told because she was never given any reason not to also the fact that rose allowed garnet to exist made garnet respect her and what she told her as fact for garnet it is the truth it's her reality so she wan't lying its just the information fed to her could've not been the whole truth garnet was just repeating what she was told to steven and the off colors....
the only thing Bismuth can confirm is weather Rose's sword could cut through a diamond's gemstone shattering it in the process(which she'll likely deny it as that was the whole point for making the breaking point in the first place), the only gems that likely know the truth about pink's death are pearl, pink diamond and white diamond.
I love seeing theories after they have been confirmed/debunked. It’s a lot of fun to go through them and see what people got right and what they got wrong.
I hope rose quartz is from homeworld it would make her leaving everything behind for earth much more effective. My personal theory is that she's a prototype, one of pink diamonds first gems what could explain the connection steven has to pink and would make the shattering a bitrayal
Drawing cat My theory is that she is just one the gems that were there to help Pink Diamond in colonizing. Which would explain why she is such a powerful gem despite being just a quartz. A new planet with a lot of life would need a lot of power to conquer.
I think Rose could have been Pink's first gem before going to Earth. Such a little Diamond would need protecting, especially as she got close to making her public debut. I think Pink talked to Rose about organic life on Earth, and she may have also put the idea in Rose's head that it was worth preserving. Pink did so with the human zoo, while Rose, loving the beauty she found, decided to rebel. I think that would be such an awesome, heartbreaking twist: have Pink be the one to have desired protecting Earth in a way, and Rose took her lead even further. I also am hoping that these two were friends. Such devastation at the shattering!
I really don’t understand how people still don’t get this. I don’t mean to be rude but it’s been heavily implied that most of quartzes originate from Pink diamond. When she was shattered, all of her gems were spread between the different courts. Now I don’t know where I fully stand on where Rose originate from but I know she didn’t come from another diamond.
That has nothing to do with anything at all. You can't just spit out chemical formulae when its obvious this show doesn't follow normal physics and geology smh
2:09 Uh, gonna correct your statement on the fact of Garnet. Garnet, ignoring the fact that she is the -temporary- leader for the CGs, does not know EVERYTHING in full detail, especially about Rose and her backstory; she keeps secrets herself and she may not be a "reliable source", especially when she had joined the rebellion after Pearl and a few others. Keep in mind, Ruby and Sapphire were told the same exact story, but with key differences in the middle, based of how their diamonds had told the story; so they (as Garnet) decided that both sides the story that were told to her host gems made sense in some odd way. However, the ending of how the rebellion started was true facts, since she was there during the time Bismuth had became a member of the rebellion. The only person that has all of the information that we are looking for is our pearl; she was with Rose since the shattering of Pink Diamond and been by her side since ever. And keep in mind, we had learned that Rose was framed for a crime that wasn't her fault.
Yeah, something fishy is going on. Rose could have easily lied to everyone. Just what the truth is will be a bigger mystery than White Diamond. Also, if Pink Diamond or her shards (depending on which theory/theories you believe) is/are still around, Pink Diamond could be the ultimate source of truth.
I've said it in other comment sections, But I'm REALLY starting to belive Rose was following her Diamonds orders all along! With Garnet and Pearl only knowing what they NEEDED to know for the plan of Pink making her world the way she wanted.
i guess folks won't be satisfied til they see rose's exit hole, there's a section in the prime kindergarten that the gems haven't been too, where the rose quartz gems were produced.
Maybe Rose didn't come from the Prime Kindergarten but was made somewhere else on Earth and was moved around a lot, also had possibly lived on Homeworld for a long time and considered it her true "home" before realising the value of life on Earth
There could still be a third kindergarten which specialized in rose quartz gems. Since it would seem the prime kindergarten was meant for amethysts and the beta one was for jaspers. It would make sense if it's a pinkish area (to match with thecolors of the others) if this is the case I'd say it was an experiment that ended up going wrong (a certain part of the soil making the rose quartz go "haywire"
Carry Rocks was just a generic representation of working. Also, Warp Pads. There’s a Galactic Warp sitting right there in the ocean. I think too many people assume gems just stayed in one place, or because Earth was Pink’s first colony, none of her gems traveled around the empire as part of their duties. Bismuth’s creates towers for thinking and arenas for fighting, they clearly do more than just work all the time.
Another thing, Pearl’s “we” doesn’t necessarily always mean “her and Rose.” In some cases, yes, but in other cases, she could be talking about Gems in general coming to Earth.
Maybe Garnet doesn't even know in which "pool" / timeline she is anymore. There for Sapphire saw Rose Quartz shattering Pink Diamond, but maybe it wasn't our Rose??
I always took Bismuth's line about being made right here could have been talking about how it was on Earth when Rose realized her purpose and thus being a person made whole.
Could it be that there were two roses? The actual rose and an impostor? Cause in the episode were steven gets stranded in space with ruby, he couldnt recognize steven/roses gem even though stevens bubble is the same color. Having stated that ruby saw it first hand. Just a theory...
Julio Izquierdo I have thought that there were 5 rose quartzes. And each of them had a naval gem. And that's why the star. Five points for the original 5 rose quartz soldiers.
Helena Nilsson No. They are female ONLY in pronoun. Gender and sexually, they are nothing. That is mentioned by Rebecca sugar. They have no gender or sex.
Rose in not Rose. She is Pink diamond. She just wanted to go down to earth so she shapeshifted to look like a Rose Quartz so nobody would know. Everybody says Rose Quartz shattered Pink diamond but it was Pearl shapeshifted to look like Rose Quartz. Pink diamond even states "I can't shatters myself". Also "Rose's" sword cannot shatter a gem. th-cam.com/video/bQ74vi0IffU/w-d-xo.html Good info
Garnet naturally would have no personal experience of the history of Rose Quartz prior to meeting her in The Answer's flashback. Rose and/or Pearl could have told her whatever story they thought that would best please Garnet's components, and they would have little chance of verifying Rose's alleged story. Bismuth could have said that Rose was made "here on Earth" or "on this planet" or "on this world" instead the ambiguous "here in the dirt", which could just as easily be seen as emphasizing that Rose wasn't a special creation like the Diamonds, but was an ordinary Gem made the ordinary way. Even if Bismuth believed Rose was made on Earth, since she'd apparently arrived on this world after Rose, she'd have the same problem as Garnet in being unable to corroborate any story given to her. Rose might have met Bismuth as part of her duties, quickly found out about Bismuth's hatred of serving "uppercrusts from Homeworld" and thought it better to curry Bismuth's favor by giving herself a humble Earth origin than reveal that she had considerable status under Pink Diamond. I think that Garnet is telling what she believes to be the truth, mainly because it's been shown in Mirror Gem, Fusion Cuisine and Steven's Dream that Garnet isn't a very convincing liar. For what's it's worth, Garnet's mental acuity has recently deteriorated to the point that she/Ruby couldn't even tell apart the individual members of the Ruby Squad (Room For Ruby). Why would Amethyst feel shame for being created on Earth if Rose had the same origin? Why would Pearl show open disgust and horror at the idea of the Prime Kindergarten if her beloved Rose came from there or a similar place on Earth? Why would Rose lie to Greg about her "home planet", since she's the only Gem likely to have told Greg between Story For Steven and We Need To Talk that she was extraterrestrial, and with no obvious reason to gain his companionship for anything more than as a "playmate"? Forget about the Rose Quartzes, there's no evidence that ANY red-hued Gems were made on Earth prior to the rebellion. Who and where were made the Rubies, Agates, Pearls, Padparadschas and any other red-hued Gem that we know were with Pink Diamond when she was allegedly shattered? Even if she met her fate long after the rebellion began, it's incredible that Pink Diamond went to Earth by herself and the Gems of the other Diamonds and subsequently made all the red-hued Gems here. Isn't it far more likely that, even if Earth was her first colony, she'd have her court and a sufficient number of worker Gems already made on Homeworld or other Gem colonies so that the transformation of Earth could begin with her own legion? (The one Padparadscha we know we first met on Homeworld; are we to believe that this badly-flawed Gem was made on Earth and somehow made her way to Homeworld and escaped? It's much more likely that she was made on Homeworld and that someone found and took pity on her before she could be deemed an Off-Color by the authorities and shattered or harvested.) A retcon would be to me a virtually fatal blow to my enjoyment and respect for SU, since reasonably close fidelity to previous canon has been an important feature of the series.
Rose was obviously made on earth since both Jasper and Ruby refer to Pink as "her diamond" and Yellow and Blue diamond, Blue zircon and Yellow zircon both refer to Pink as "her diamond", therefore she's from earth since Pink's only colony. I doubt that Rose would've told Pearl that she is from the prime kindergarten. Also, Garnet was the second crystal gem, as told by The Answer
lol imagine if PD got curious about earth then started living through RQ vicariously with mind switching abilities. What if mind swapped PD in RQ body used the breaking point on her original self to set herself free...?
Bless you! I still don't think she was made on Earth. And I don't think the writers are going back on their work. The crew has shown us top notch story crafting, character development, and great surprises. Garnet's "lie" is probably being used to distract us from other pressing questions/clues. How do magicians do a trick? Divert attention. :D
uugh I HATE!.. that people are coming right now and say ''You are wroooong, Rose is Pink Diamond'' like oh thanks for saying something we All know Now and to a 1 month old video, like you know this came out Before the episode right? uugh.. kids;
Just because she was made on Earth doesn't mean she's never been to homeworld or know that homeworld is where gems live I mean they had warp pads to homeworld back then
They didn't have warp pads to homeworld on earth to homeworld untill after the rebellion because why would the centipeddles have to use a ship to go to earth If there were warp pads
Maybe both tell the true and pearl is hiding something from steven and garnet she the story about she from Earth but i know bismuth said destroy the body but never the gem so do you think rose did not kill pink diamond
Well thank about it her agate her sapphires and her Pearl not with her like weather sapphire see rose come and her agate try to stop her and her Pearl say watch out my diamond and garnet and pearl say they know about her kill pink diamond but were they there before it happened to pink ?
This video is amazing now that we know the truth, I also picked up on this sort of when Greg is telling Steven about Rose in the past. He asks her about her home and she says she doesn't miss it, meaning Homeworld. It was when he tried to fuse with her I think.
Regarding Pearl's "we could never go home" This is Pearl speaking. Homeworld would be home to HER. It doesn't necessarily mean that it would be a place that Rose had ever been on before. Other than that, all points are valid. Especially the bit about Garnet intentionally simplifying her story and/or fudging the truth. She is telling the story not only to Steven but to a group of potential allies, and it's not unlikely that she's been doing CG recruitment runs before. This is essentially a sales pitch to get this group of gems to sympathise with the Crystal Gems and support them in the future.
An interesting tidbit to point out in garnets flashback: When it shows rose kneeling in front of pink diamond (image at 6:01), everything is visibly 'cut out' from the image except for the two of them. We are LITERALLY not seeing the whole picture in that instance, and I don't think that's unintentional.
So here's what my brain's thinking: sure, pink made a class of gem, rose quartz. And sure, maybe a lot or almost all of them were made on earth. But what if, before gems are made in a mass production situation, the diamonds make test runs. This is the only way I can imagine Rose, a creation of Pink Diamond before PD controled homeworld, makes sense. It would ALSO explain why Rose is the only rose quartz with healing powers, because she was a prototype, and an overpowered one at that. This would explain why she was created by Pink, not made on homeworld, and how she met our Pearl, who likely served one (or all, as some speculate) of the diamonds. They haven't hinted at this sort of thing, tho, which makes me unsure if this is the route they would specifically take. But I think that, if the writers didn't have a reason, mine would certainly fill the gap in gem history without retconning what we know to be true.
Here are my thoughts from what i remember in the previous episodes. Before colonizing a planet, scout ships are sent to the world to determine whether it's viable for gem creations, so no kindergartens at this point. The episode where Steven and lars meet the off colors, they live in a section of home world that belonged to pink diamond. I believe that's where the rose quartz gems were created specifically by pink. Once earth was deemed viable, they went with pink to colonize and create the first kindergarten. There, our rose got to experience the beauty of the world.
Given what happened in A Single Pale Rose, it makes sense that pink bubbled all the rose quartzes, since that means only she would know what they looked like and she could silence any other gems who may have been unfortunate enough to also see them. From there she could make the disguise as she so chose to since no one else knows what they look like except her
Hehem.... 'when we arrived in earth' refers to the gem race as a whole. The use of 'home' can refer to a place and a group associated with it, as the we can see from the episode 'that will be all' where the famethysts show a very strong bond. Also home has a metaphorical meaning here, observe: we can never go back/home II we can never belong... Pearl said 'you're the only good thing that came out of this mess' not 'this place', referring to the events that led up to amethyst joining them. Rose was saying that stuff to Greg because he knows very little about the gems and so he assumed that Rose wasn't built on earth. Her saying things that he can understand easier shows how she doesn't want her decisions to effect him. And lastly compared to the life span of immortal beings like the gems the lifetime of a human would be as miniscule as a moment. Note that we humans never exactly say what we mean. A lot of the dialogue slips between the lines and I kinda feel that this was taken out of context, but then again this is a classic case of finding patterns where they don't exist. Sorry but you actually want to believe it so much that your brain is playing tricks on you. Rose was built on earth and this is final. Otherwise there would be a lot of plot holes that would absolutely destroy the overall story. The fact that all rose quartzes were built on earth was implied in many dialogues between the gems and steven and the diamonds themselves (who have no reason to lie as they think steven has roses memories) rose quartzes could still be made on earth and be used on other planets and we have no proof that rose never visited homeworld. (as a new type of gem it would be very beneficial to educate them properly so that they become successful quickly. I think they would have been taken to homeworld either for educational purposes or in order to be inspected by the rest of gemkind. Additionally travel to homeworld is very easy through warppads. The fact that the characters don't travel to homeworld through the specific warppad is because it is currently unable to function.)
Even after A Single Pale Rose, it's still not a lie that Rose was made on Earth. That is, after all, where PD manifested that identity, and cultivated the entire idea of sparing earth from becoming a hollowed-out colony. Rose is an earth-based gem from every perspective except the fact that she was a diamond first, something she wanted to hide/destroy/ignore for the rest of her life.
I just realized when you look at the mural of pink diamond it doesn't really look like her at all but when you see the silhouette of white diamond it just looks more like her. I know its meant to be pink diamonds mural but it just really fits white diamond more.
Pink diamomd has been to homeworld...she transferred her mind into a rose quartz body (Steven's dream powers) so the diamonds would leave the earth alone and shattered herself. I hate that I think this since I have always wanted pink and rose to be different characters. But it just makes since. Steven is pink diamond 😪
For the longest I got it into my head that the Gem War was started by pink diamond's assassination, like a WWI situation. It'd make the bismuth conflict make more sense since they already got rid of a diamond bismuth's idea of escalation would put her enough in the wrong to make what Rose did slightly more justifiable. But since what Garnet told us, the war ended with the death of pink diamond and makes Rose's hypocrisy worse.
Like others, I find this video is pretty hilarious because it was done before the reveal that Pink Diamond and Rose Quartz are the same person at the end of Season 5, specifically in "A Single Pale Rose" which first aired on May 7, 2018, about a month after this video was published. So in a lot of ways she gets stuff right, especially about us not knowing everything about Rose's origins up to that point
‘Maybe when Peridot gets to earth, she’ll see how nice all the people are and she won’t want to hurt anyone’ ‘Just like your mother’ Can’t remember the exact quote but I agree there’s conflicting information and it’s on purpose. They’re setting something up!
If they simply made an oopsie and she is meant to be from Earth, this is kinda bad. But, if this is planned and she is not from Earth and she lied to Garnet...Well, then this is great? I just want Rose to be horrible liar and hypocrite. I don't like her x3
I think that in "On the Run" when Pearl said that Amethyst was the one good thing, the Rose origin story hadn't been fully fleshed out yet. Or if it was a retcon, the crewniverse isn't nearly as good as Adventure Time is at retconning past plot points. because Bismuth said that Rose was made right there in the dirt on Earth, but in the ext intro Pearl says they arrived on Earth meaning she was a court Pearl and that she may have belonged to someone, and they left her because she was no longer wanted or because she was defective. hence, "a Pearl who with no owner" now relating to the ext intro "If you could only know...what we really are! When we arrived on Earth... from out beyond your star." this may mean that Pearl is the oldest crystal gem (excluding Sapphire and Ruby, because Garnet is 5750 yrs old) because she isn't from Earth.
Mayby is pearl from pink diamant. Bescause she hadn't a colonie. So she had a pearl who belong to all the diamants. That's why pearl so collorfull. And mayby she heart them talk about the nature on earth. So then she was the first one who joined.
This video is amazing! It made me think of the lore in a way I haven't before. I'm starting to think Garnet's story is simply what was told to her by Rose or Pearl. Rose and Pearl could have secrets that no other crystal gem knows about. Namely, the truth about Rose and some events around the gem war. I'm starting to think Rose is not from Earth. The Earth kindergartens make amathysts and jaspers. It might make sense if rose was unique, but it is shown that she was mass produced It opens up a whole world of speculation. It could be that rose noticed earth, convinced Pink to make a colony there so she could visit, then had to fight Pink because Pink didn't care about preserving the earth. It might even be that Rose and Pink staged the war and shattering to scare the other diamonds away from earth
Your theory is under the assumption those 2 kindegartens are the only 2 that exist. That doesn't make sense, especially considering pink diamond was "shattered" somewhere in Korea. It would make sense if there are more that exist and she was just created at a different kindergarten.
I think there’s a bit of stuff in what Jasper’s said that defines what’s going on. She told Amethyst, “You don’t even know what you should look like.” There’s a distinction of how the Gems look being particular to their type. They also seem to need to be taught things. They don’t emerge with anything more than words and free thought. Gems would thus have to be trained on Homeworld in mass. Why wouldn’t all Gems call Homeworld home? Even if they emerged from some planet, do they really come from there in the philosophical sense? All Gems “come from” Homeworld. There’s more to argue about terminology too, but it’s going to be vague and abstract. I think the sense of “home” to the Gems is “safety” or “normalcy”. In human English, it probably means “my house” because that’s where we stay a lot of the time. The Gems don’t need much rest beyond sitting or laying down for a few hours to literally recharge. Their “home” is where they just go about, and the Gems they interact with. “Home” is with the other Gems. To build a home is often associated with having a family to make it complete. When you have millions of kin, it’s hard to call two Gems “at home” wherever they build it. That’s my ten cents. I’m unsure what it really implies.
I noticed something interesting recently with these Pink diamond flash backs, when we see Pink Diamond in "your mother and mine" it almost never shows her gem all shots of her are either too high or from the side, and in Gemcation when Garnet is starting a flash back before steven interrupts her it shows Pink diamonds gem as a classic diamond made up of 4 straight lines like the other diamonds however we know that's not what her gem looks like. Someone reading this might think that that's just the gems picturing it that way but there is a rock solid piece of evidence that follows this train of thought and that's Pinks Mural on the moon base, the bodies not matching exactly could be a stylistic choice but getting the gem stone that different from what it was supposed to be doesn't make sense unless it was done on purpose, or without knowledge of what she actually looks like. So here is an idea what if Pink had a body double who looked and acted like a more standard diamond, it would help explain away some inconsistency's like her height, the cut of her gem in flash backs, and her more polarising decisions like having the Zoo be a paradise for humans but showing no real concern for them when asked by Rose.
Did this video change your mind on where Rose Quartz was originally from? Tell me if you think she was from Earth (as stated in Your Mother and Mine), or from a different colony!
Cartoon Universe I think she was from earth.
Rose doesn't miss her home planet because she has never left it, that planet is earth and there is no use of missing something if you always have
I think Rose has hidden a few truths and told the CGs slightly different stories so they keep their morale up when fighting for Earth.
Cartoon Universe I still think that maybe she adopted earth as her home and she is from another colony. Who knows but Rebecca and the crew
Oh boi do they got a twist for u
Seltzer hehe
Yeah, but she was right about Rose Quartz being made on Homeworld and that she is Pink Diamond in one other video.
Garnet wasn't lying she just doesn't know the whole story
Xavier Gray i agree. Garnet was there like pearl was so only pearl knows
Rose is pink diamond
PrincE Geezy Garnet didn’t lie. But it seems like Rose lied to her, which we now know is true.
Watching these videos now is hilarious.
My exact thoughts
OP was SO close... right up until 9:08. lol
True
The part where Pearl said "even if we could never go home" 😲😲😲😲😲
PiercingSight I was straight up looking for people to comment this XD
Every time I hear them say "and then she used her sword to shatter pink diamond." I get so annoyed because we all know that the sword can destroy physical forms, but not shatter gems. And Steven KNEW that. But he won't say anything. And should've said something when he was on trial.
AJETT I don't know. The sword can probably break anything if given enough power, but the breaking point was created so it will be much easier and faster to shatter.
Fusion Party But Rose never used the breaking point. And even in real life you would need a LOT of pressure and a really sharp sword to shatter a diamond.
AJETT
A diamond has perfect cleavage which even copper wedges could shatter a diamond. A sword could do that.
I’m starting to believe pd wasn’t a diamond ,she maybe is a Cubic zirconia because in rl life they used as a diamond look alike .
Krystal Fontenot
It better not be a Cubic Zirconia. Because that's my gemsona.
Garnet is not lying, just telling the “truth” she was told. Remember, Garnet never asks questions. Rose told her not to. Garnet knows that Rose kept secrets, but she doesn’t know the true scale of a couple of those secrets. She only shared said secrets with her Pearl.
EmeraldSkies pearl was the only one who knew the truth....
I agree no one lied they have some true parts but all were probably lied to or they weren’t told the whole story
That would make an amazing episode
We didn't hear anything from pearl, the one who hides something.
But padparadscha can see the past, right? Why doesn't he ask her about it?
Oceanti None of the off colors knew Rose Quartz and the event that actually happened, all they heard was rumors and believed that they were true
Its obvious that Garnet doesn't know the whole story. Thats what SHE believed happened.
Daniel Schultz exactly, we need another gem telling the story to be closer to what really happened.
I would say Bismuth needs to be unbubbled. Maybe we would find out more.
1.this could all be a continuity error.
2. Retcon.
(Which someone needs to clear up if it is.)
3. Whoever told Garnet Rose's origin lied.
In either case whichever person told her Rose's origin can't be trusted at all.
kakashi Hatake blue diamond’s appearance was one continuity error
Undernet agree
Yeah all of these theories are so good, but the crewniverse is fucking garbage at continuity so #1 is probably accurate.
Vissia IN THE FLASHBACK THEY REALLY ARE THE SAME PINK TOO OOH THATD BE A NICE PLOT TWIST
I don't think garnet was lying, I think rose was when she told garnet her origin story
I feel like it is all just rumors. It’s most likely all a lie, no one can know the true story except maybe Bismuth.
the only thing Bismuth can confirm is weather Rose's sword could cut through a diamond's gemstone shattering it in the process(which she'll likely deny it as that was the whole point for making the breaking point in the first place), the only gems that likely know the truth about pink's death are pearl, pink diamond and white diamond.
AzurenGamer true!
Do you think Pink diamond is still alive?
I love seeing theories after they have been confirmed/debunked. It’s a lot of fun to go through them and see what people got right and what they got wrong.
I hope rose quartz is from homeworld it would make her leaving everything behind for earth much more effective. My personal theory is that she's a prototype, one of pink diamonds first gems what could explain the connection steven has to pink and would make the shattering a bitrayal
Drawing cat
My theory is that she is just one the gems that were there to help Pink Diamond in colonizing.
I also thin Rose is the prototype of the Rose Quartz cut, because that would explain why she's so overpowered
Welp rose is pink diamond, so this theory is dead 😅
Wow, its amazing how close you came to predicting the twist!
It’s possible that garnet doesn’t know, or that Rose was lying.
Or the crewniverse has no idea what they’re doing.
giantpoopbutt Plays Garnet not knowing, rose lying, the crewniverse not knowing what there doing, let's face it, all 3 are possible.
D. All of the above
YOU FROM THE FUTURE, CUZ UR RIGHT!!!!
Wooh. Rose? You mean Pink. The crewniverse doesn’t know what their doing at all. The new episodes raise more questions than answers.
Maybe because rose is pink diamond!
Purplexd you were right
Purplexd ur CORRECT
Purplexd I’m not sure if you’re comment was made before this was revealed, but if it was, than props to you for guessing correctly.
Purplexd , you called it!
Ohhh this vid was olllddd
I really don’t understand how people still don’t get this. I don’t mean to be rude but it’s been heavily implied that most of quartzes originate from Pink diamond. When she was shattered, all of her gems were spread between the different courts.
Now I don’t know where I fully stand on where Rose originate from but I know she didn’t come from another diamond.
James Rua ikr
well maybe there was an era where diamonds didn't exist and gems had a democracy.
Diamonds are made of carbon and quartz(SiO2) are made of silicon.. Very Unlikely
Jc Deleon They put in things in the ground to create gems. They put that stuff in the ground
That has nothing to do with anything at all. You can't just spit out chemical formulae when its obvious this show doesn't follow normal physics and geology smh
Hailey don't be silly, rose quartz isn't real 😤
Edit:I *KNEW* it
Icymations YT It's reference from the new episode. Fluorite said that
He can from Pink Diamond lol
Derp Flour it right she's pink diamond confirmed
Icymations YT From... just watch A Single Pale Rose (the new episode)
this is funny to read after the newest episode lmao
You were really close to the truth 😉
I've said it in other comment sections, But I'm REALLY starting to belive Rose was following her Diamonds orders all along! With Garnet and Pearl only knowing what they NEEDED to know for the plan of Pink making her world the way she wanted.
I was ALMOST right... OMG I love Pink now! ;_;
Before the reveal, I thought almost the same thing 😁
Amazing, it wasn’t retcon at all. No continuity error. They did a great job. All your evidence was legit.
i guess folks won't be satisfied til they see rose's exit hole, there's a section in the prime kindergarten that the gems haven't been too, where the rose quartz gems were produced.
where's your exit hole now? Sorry but i must point out the odd phrasing :D
I Hope we do see the Roses Quartz hole one day... And also how Pink Diamond was made...
@@claireaquos6532 o h
Garnet wasn’t lying, she didn’t know the truth, because
She is pink diamond, and garnet or amethyst didn’t know,
Garnet definitely didn't know the whole truth giving the new episode 2018
Love the thumbnail
Thank the awesome Art with Koda for that!
Cartoon Universe I've seen a lot of his work with slice of otaku he is very gifted
Me too!
lexi Gators thanks guys
Maybe Garnet doesn't even know in which "pool" / timeline she is anymore. There for Sapphire saw Rose Quartz shattering Pink Diamond, but maybe it wasn't our Rose??
I always took Bismuth's line about being made right here could have been talking about how it was on Earth when Rose realized her purpose and thus being a person made whole.
Now we know she wasn’t made on earth, because she’s pink diamond
OoOoO Pink was made on homeword but Rose was "made" on earth
Pearl isn't a reliable source either because Rose didn't tell her about Lion. The only reliable source would be Rose.
But Pearl is still more realible then Garnet when it comes to Pink
Could it be that there were two roses? The actual rose and an impostor? Cause in the episode were steven gets stranded in space with ruby, he couldnt recognize steven/roses gem even though stevens bubble is the same color. Having stated that ruby saw it first hand. Just a theory...
Julio Izquierdo
I have thought that there were 5 rose quartzes. And each of them had a naval gem. And that's why the star. Five points for the original 5 rose quartz soldiers.
*she
All gems are female, in pronouns if not biologically. Even the rubies.
Helena Nilsson
No. They are female ONLY in pronoun. Gender and sexually, they are nothing. That is mentioned by Rebecca sugar. They have no gender or sex.
Pearl was kind of an impostor
Very close
Rose in not Rose. She is Pink diamond. She just wanted to go down to earth so she shapeshifted to look like a Rose Quartz so nobody would know. Everybody says Rose Quartz shattered Pink diamond but it was Pearl shapeshifted to look like Rose Quartz. Pink diamond even states "I can't shatters myself". Also "Rose's" sword cannot shatter a gem.
th-cam.com/video/bQ74vi0IffU/w-d-xo.html
Good info
It's much more likely that she was made on Homeworld and that someone found and took pity on her before she could be deemed an Off-Color by the authorities and shattered or harvested.)
A retcon would be to me a virtually fatal blow to my enjoyment and respect for SU, since reasonably close fidelity to previous canon has been an important feature of the series.
After seeing Single Pale Rose episode, Cartoon Universe should put quotation marks on Rose Quartz in the title
personally i think there is at least one more kindergarten on earth specifically for rose quartz's
S = So strong
T = The truth
E = eeeee... STEVEN ITS PINK.
V = Very good
E = Everyday its PINK.
N = NOOOOOOOOO! (says the fandom.)
Garnet wasn't there for most of the story she told about Rose, so she could have several things wrong with her account.
What if mind swapped PD in RQ body used the breaking point on her original self to set herself free...?
i mean... you were kind of right
She lived a double life!!!
Bless you! I still don't think she was made on Earth. And I don't think the writers are going back on their work. The crew has shown us top notch story crafting, character development, and great surprises. Garnet's "lie" is probably being used to distract us from other pressing questions/clues.
How do magicians do a trick? Divert attention. :D
uugh I HATE!.. that people are coming right now and say ''You are wroooong, Rose is Pink Diamond'' like oh thanks for saying something we All know Now and to a 1 month old video, like you know this came out Before the episode right? uugh.. kids;
Maybe home means HOMEWORLD itself,u dont kno!
@@tub_so no they were ordered to land on earth then they built the warp pads
Fairytail? More like Recruitment propaganda
She just didn’t know the full story. To cover up Rose’s secret, Pearl and Rose probably told a slightly different story
Maybe both tell the true and pearl is hiding something from steven and garnet she the story about she from Earth but i know bismuth said destroy the body but never the gem so do you think rose did not kill pink diamond
Marrissa Navarete The point of the episode "The Trial" was to say Rose didn't actually shatter Pink Diamond
Well thank about it her agate her sapphires and her Pearl not with her like weather sapphire see rose come and her agate try to stop her and her Pearl say watch out my diamond and garnet and pearl say they know about her kill pink diamond but were they there before it happened to pink ?
Marrissa Navarete Umm yeah, everyone else predicted this a few months ago, you're really late to the party
What party
This video is amazing now that we know the truth, I also picked up on this sort of when Greg is telling Steven about Rose in the past. He asks her about her home and she says she doesn't miss it, meaning Homeworld. It was when he tried to fuse with her I think.
Regarding Pearl's "we could never go home"
This is Pearl speaking.
An interesting tidbit to point out in garnets flashback:
When it shows rose kneeling in front of pink diamond (image at 6:01), everything is visibly 'cut out' from the image except for the two of them. We are LITERALLY not seeing the whole picture in that instance, and I don't think that's unintentional.
Yo we didn't see it coming
This channel is so underrated
Rose is from pink diamond, I forgot the episode but Jasper says "my diamond, your diamond, pink diamond"
It was the episode, "Earthlings".
i'm from the future and you will know the truth
I hate the future
nah, the future is gonna be pretty interesting. personally I kind of want to see how Garnet will take the news since Rose was her idol
I actually want to see all the characters hating rose for escaping of her problems and lying to everyone and creating a war just to bang humans
'Except for Amethyst, who has never experienced living under a diamond' < WOOP
I say she was made on earth but has been to homeworld a couple times
Bismuth wasn't made on earth either. She mentioned doing what a Bismuth does as if she has done it a bunch of times before.
“Continuity Errors” Lol we were so wrong..
Bruh I remember these days
Here are my thoughts from what i remember in the previous episodes. Before colonizing a planet, scout ships are sent to the world to determine whether it's viable for gem creations, so no kindergartens at this point. The episode where Steven and lars meet the off colors, they live in a section of home world that belonged to pink diamond. I believe that's where the rose quartz gems were created specifically by pink. Once earth was deemed viable, they went with pink to colonize and create the first kindergarten. There, our rose got to experience the beauty of the world.
Omg.Rose is made on Earth but her home is HOMEworld
Marios Grend Well...
Trey Bolick welp this was written before the single pale rose so I still stand by my arguments with the information we had at the time xd
6:00 YES! I WAS WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO ALSO LINK REVOLUTIONARY GIRL TO PINK’S LAUGH!!! YESSS!!!!
Rose doesn't miss her home planet because she has never left it, so that planet is earth
That's an awkward way to say it. It's like Obi Wan saying Vader killed Anakin.
Could there be a third kindergarten?
I just realized when you look at the mural of pink diamond it doesn't really look like her at all but when you see the silhouette of white diamond it just looks more like her. I know its meant to be pink diamonds mural but it just really fits white diamond more.
This aged well, lol
its funny watching this now since rose quartz being pink diamond was revealed in a single pale rose later in may 2018.
Same.
Should we tell her?
Spoiler rose is pink diamond, and rose means rosa which means pink in spanish
Pink diamomd has been to homeworld...she transferred her mind into a rose quartz body (Steven's dream powers) so the diamonds would leave the earth alone and shattered herself. I hate that I think this since I have always wanted pink and rose to be different characters. But it just makes since. Steven is pink diamond 😪
Oh heCk
Well, you were almost right
For the longest I got it into my head that the Gem War was started by pink diamond's assassination, like a WWI situation.
Rose's plant powers would be very useful terraforming Earth. It would sense if she was made before Pink came to Earth,
Tbh most of the video I was shaking my head in agreement. Great video.
I think we need to hear it from pearl to know for sure
Like others, I find this video is pretty hilarious because it was done before the reveal that Pink Diamond and Rose Quartz are the same person at the end of Season 5, specifically in "A Single Pale Rose" which first aired on May 7, 2018, about a month after this video was published. So in a lot of ways she gets stuff right, especially about us not knowing everything about Rose's origins up to that point
Love this video btw👍💞
‘Maybe when Peridot gets to earth, she’ll see how nice all the people are and she won’t want to hurt anyone’
‘Just like your mother’
Can’t remember the exact quote but I agree there’s conflicting information and it’s on purpose. They’re setting something up!
Love ya cartoon universe#!!
Oh honey.....you got a big storm coming
Anyone came after A Single Pale Rose?
Me , of course
If they simply made an oopsie and she is meant to be from Earth, this is kinda bad.
But, if this is planned and she is not from Earth and she lied to Garnet...Well, then this is great?
I just want Rose to be horrible liar and hypocrite. I don't like her x3
Hi There!! Early Squad! I luv this channel!
TehNarutoNinjaHQ// TNNHQ EARLY SQUAD!
It might make sense if rose was unique, but it is shown that she was mass produced
It opens up a whole world of speculation. It could be that rose noticed earth, convinced Pink to make a colony there so she could visit, then had to fight Pink because Pink didn't care about preserving the earth. It might even be that Rose and Pink staged the war and shattering to scare the other diamonds away from earth
She was right lmao
THEY HAD THIS PLANNED!! ITS NOT A CONTRADICTION!! AMAZING I CANT BELIEVE THE TWIST
She told Amethyst, “You don’t even know what you should look like.”
There’s a distinction of how the Gems look being particular to their type.
Mind. Blown.
Rose Quarts doesn´t exist
Quarts
TRUE (again)
Assuming a warrior class literally never left their kindergarten seems the to be the source for a lot of these inconsistencies.
It’s sad that it’s hard to tell what is purposeful story telling and what is lazy writing in this show smh
Lmao
i'm not sure if this has already been spotted but i see a silouhette of lapis at 8:11
