Cody definitely seemed to open up more as the trip went on. That is a testament to the positive impact riding has on everyone but specifically these brave men and women. It is also an affirmation, in my humble opinion, of the positive impact you are having on these guys. I am so proud to be an American and have Americans like this working so hard to bring some joy and happiness to those who deserve it most! Love this stuff man..

If your pipes are dragging in the turns you might want check to see if your rear shocks are adequately pumped up with enough air. It’s easy to forget that the Indians have an adjustable air suspension for rear shocks!👍

I swapped with a Darkhorse 116 the other night. Very different I enjoyed it. Liked the adjustable windshield and the bike had good power. It is big & heavy but surprisingly does not feel that heavy lol accept in the gravel parking lot.
I have a 19 HD Sport Glide with tall vented Gustafson windshield & lowers. Without the vent & lowers it would buffet air so I see the value in an adjustable windscreen. My SG is lighter nimbler and faster because of my motor mods. Nonetheless I was impressed with the Darkhorse & the motor.
I’m not brand blind or fanboy and get tired of those that are in both camps. Mostly I’m just glad that there is competition in the marketplace.

Cody, just get a taller windshield with a vent. It'll eliminate the buffeting and it's a hell of a lot cheaper than a bagger. And when it's hot and you just want to putt around and cool off, you can pop it right off.

Thanks for all you do Adam! About your muffler dragging, you will need to adjust your shock with the little mini pump that comes with your bike. In your owners manual there’s a chart that corresponds with the amount of pounds you have on the bike. It’s really simple to do and I guarantee you the muffler won’t drag and the ride is even better. Keep the rubber side down!

Cody, I also have a 2018 FLHC and may have an answer to the wind buffeting you're experiencing. I'm more or less the same height & stature as you, and I bought the Harley fork fangs, because the tremendous buffeting was literally giving me double vision and a headache while riding. The fangs solved about 70% of the problem, but I still had enough buffeting on long rides to get irritated by it. A month ago I purchased a "Clearview Shield" that completely eliminated the remaining buffeting, and it is the best aftermarket purchase I have made. Like the stock windshield, my new windshield is blacked out on the bottom half, and is about a half inch taller. However, it is thicker, it has a virtually unnoticeable "recurve" along the top edge, and it has a vent. The vent is the key. The buffeting returns if I either shut the vent or completely open it. However, when I partially open it, a quite forceful flow of air goes up the back side of the shield and eliminates the buffeting. I am not connected to Clearview Shields in any way, but a very satisfied customer after taking a 1,400 mile trip last weekend.
Also, is that driver backrest with your stock seats? If so, where can I get one?

Hey Adam and Cody. Love this series btw, especially as the owner of a 2018 Heritage Classic myself. At 6'3" tall, the stock windscreen was useless so i upgraded to a 22" dark tinted shield with the aero-curve and it's simply amazing the difference it makes. I have a couple of vids of it on my channel if you want to check it out. I think I paid about $160 for the shield and that's a hell of a lot less than a fairing and maintains the classic retro look of the Heritage.

I remember when I went from my Road King to my Ultra Ltd the weight of the fairing was something to get used to (unlike your road glide where the fairing is permanently mounted. Is the Indian fairing on the frame or handlebars. That extra 100 pounds between the RK and the Ultra was substantial at first. Now I don't notice it.
