Great Video and very helpful instructions Red B. I can see how TCat Charlie was a big help. My flying buddy has the 80 and it's taken a bit, but is starting to master it. We'll both get the 64 and intend to use the 10 channel AS3X RX, not that we don't trust the stock gyro, just so comfortable programming the Spektrum and like the ability to change gains in flight and get call outs on pack voltage. An SMC HiV 5900 is going in ours. Keep any updates and tips coming, I can use as much help as I can get. 😂

We don’t use any flap compensation and I did try it on 4000s it seems to lighten the wing loading

@@leovergo6117 Good to know, was actually thinking that this one would benefit greatly from a lighter pack than my favorite 5900, trading off flight time for performance. Thanks TCat! Will go with the SMC HiV 4400's first.

Definitely flies better with a 4000 on board! Landed with 26% on a 4000 after 3min! The HiV4400 should be perfect!

I have the 80mm Tomcat which is yet to be maidened and I was looking at getting this! A little bit concerned about how easy it is to damage though. On the 40mm E-Flite, I have to hit the sweep on touchdown just to prevent the quick disconnect from coming out. By the way, stall testing on the 40 nearly caused crashing, every time! Tip stalls hoooooribly. Thankfully mine is still in one piece. For the ballooning, maybe use full span flaps with optional CROW tied to the reverse switch? I know, it would require 10 channels for that. Lol. Ok, I’m rambling. Thanks for the great content RedBeard!

Tomcat Charlie here I would say get the 64 mm it is great and flies amazing if you look at the video the last four landings I do not touch the elevator I fly in with the throttle the 80 mm flies very similar but it has way more inertia and is very much less forgiving if you master the 64 will be OK on the 80

Tomcat Charlie here do not use full span flaps as it will aggravate the tip stalling tendencies the 64 mm does fly easier than the 80 if you’re worried start out with 4000s it’ll lighten the wing loading also take out the springs of the lightning gear replace it with fuel tubing. It’ll get rid of some that bounce.

Also, we got rid of the springs in the landing gear and replaced it with fuel tubing so I won’t rebound

@@leovergo6117 Did you use the fuel tube trick on the 80 or just the 64?
