  • Today, I’m sharing a delightful festive recipe perfect for Janmashtami- Makhan Mishri Cake. 🎉🍰 Ideal for celebrating Shri Krishna’s birthday or simply indulging in a unique and delicious treat, this cake is sure to impress! 🌟👑
    INGREDIENTS FOR THE CAKE:
Water chestnut flour (Singhada ka aata) ½ cup
    Rajgira (amaranth) flour ½ cup
    Baking powder ½ tsp
    Baking soda ¼ tsp
    Salt 1 pinch
    Cardamom powder 1 tsp
    Homemade butter ¼ cup
    Powdered sugar ½ cup
Almond and pistachio flakes ¼ cup
    FOR GARNISHING:
    Homemade white butter ½ cup
    Crystal (patri) sugar 2 tbsp
Saffron ½ tsp (soaked in 1 tbsp warm milk)
Dry fruits, rose petals, edible flowers
    METHOD:
    1) To prepare the Cake Batter, combine the singhada or rajgira flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cardamom powder. Sieve the mixture through a fine sieve.
    2) Preheat the oven to 180°C. Prepare the cake tin lined with a butter paper and sprinkle some rajgira flour.
    3) In a separate bowl sieve the powdered sugar. Combine the powdered sugar and butter. Beat it well in one direction.
    4) Gradually add the sieved flour mixture to the malai mixture, along with the required quantity of milk to form a batter of dropping consistency. Gently fold in the almond and pistachio flakes. Pour the prepared batter into the prepared cake tin. Bake for about 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    5) Carefully unmould the cake and allow it to cool completely.
    6) To prepare the icing on the cake, beat the fresh white butter until it turns creamy. Spread a thick layer of this butter mixture over the cooled cake. Give the picks with palette knife for a mountain effect.
    7) Sprinkle some coloured crystal sugar on it. Drizzle the saffron-infused milk over the top. Garnish with dry fruits, and rose petals as desired.
    8) Enjoy your festive janmashtami special MAKHAN MISHRI CAKE with a traditional Makhan Mishri Topping
