My dad always said I was born the day before Pearl Harbor day but never understood the significance of it until we experienced 9/11.(born in 1955 so it was still fresh to my parents) I would love to see the memorial in person.Im not a big fan of pineapple but those frozen treats looked so deliciously tefreshing!

OMG you guys!!! You were in Oahu!!! Cheri and I got married there on the beach in 2019!!! We had the greatest family vacation and had an amazing time there. It’s so awesome seeing this video of you guys in paradise. I can’t wait to see the other videos from there. I’m so glad you guys got to go to the Arizona memorial. It was closed for renovation when we were there. We didn’t go to Diamondhead but your video captured the beautiful views perfectly. We went to this natural blow hole and Cockroach Cove which is not far from Diamondhead and the views were so breathtaking. And Cockroach Cove is a hidden gem that I will recommend to anyone going to Hawaii. I can’t wait to see your video of North Shore. We spent a lot of time there away from all the tourist areas and just enjoyed the beaches, views and amazing sunsets. Take care you two and mahalo for the great video😊☀️🌴
Hawaii is great had a great Christmas there back in 2011 stayed for 14 days and taken to many places as we have friends that live there .yes ate at dukes every morning before setting out for our day very good place to eat 👌
There are several reasons people go to Hawaii. For a glamorous vacation, for an elaborate getaway or, because it's Hawaii. What most people don't realize is that you can go, two people round trip airfare hotel food and car rental for under $7,500, even in this economy. You don't have to stay at a very fancy hotel. It's Hawaii. You will be outside most of the day anyway. You just need a comfortable place to sleep & shower. Also, some people travel and vacation for the food experience. But every time we go, we basic restaurants. McDonald's, Wendy's, Domino's, Pizza Hut & Jack in the box. You'll be in Hawaii. Enjoy Hawaii don't pay for the elaborate hotels and restaurants and drinks. Have fun and enjoy the Hawaiian experience. Many things you can do for free. But there are some fees, some as low as $5 some as much as $250 per person. Just remember, you're in Hawaii. Enjoy it.

You needed way more than one day in Hawaii! Last time we went, we stayed for 3 weeks! It was an anniversary trip. Normally we stay at least 2 weeks! Kauai and the Big Island are our favorite islands. My husband’s Father was stationed in Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked. He was Army and was over one of the Anti-aircraft units that shot down 3 Japanese planes during the attack. He survived.
For sure! We stayed for a total of 10 days on this trip and split our time between Oahu and Maui and it still wasn’t enough. Lol… This video was intended to showcase what you can do in one day in the Honolulu/Waikiki area specifically. Thanks so much for watching!

We had an elderly friend who was a medic at Pearl Harbor the day of the attack. The stories he would tell were heartwrenching. Such a sad place. This name was in use until the 1840s when the local name "Hawaii" gradually began to take precedence. Hawaiian is one of the endangered languages in the world with five vowels and seven consonants (h, k, l, m,n, p, w). Sometimes people used to communicate their languages. Aloha means Hello and Goodbye! That's all I know, take care of ourselves!

Living and visiting is totally different. Going there the first time give you that excitement of being at an amusement park or Disney Land but once you spend six month to a year, it gets boring super fast.
My grandfather worked the clean up at Pearl harbor after the attack, then they sent him to the south pacific war front. I want to go visit pearl harbor soon.

My wife and i went to a restaurant that turns slowly at top of a highrise best food ever and a sunset 100 floors up and the room sins slowly so you see all of Honolulu
Dukes is the hotel i stayed at we were so luck im a surfer and a military veteran my favorite place on earth we did the 9 hr island tour goes to pipeline famous surf spot and rode four wheelers for a two hr trip through where Jurassic park and over 100 tv shows like lost were filmed i was upset i couldn't go to Arizona memorial especially being a veteran they were renovationg it

We tend to travel on a pretty tight budget, so our accommodations aren't always luxurious or even upscale, but as long as their clean and safe, we're good with it. And we got a really good rate at the Ramada Plaza, so it was hard to beat! I hope this helps!😊

While I normally shoot our drone footage, I didn’t have time to take it up on this trip, so the footage in this video is actually stock footage that we purchased through Storyblocks.com. Flying a drone on Oahu is perfectly legal. Just pay attention to the restricted zones, authorization zones, and altitude limit zones. With the airport and military base, there are complex layers to the air space. All that said, flying around Waikiki and most of the island is very easy and legal.
AM&N........"#1 poke spot in WKK?!".....By who's criteria is that survey based on?....IMO......One of Da Bes' poke spots on da island is Poke On Da Run in Pearl City. Also, atop locals poke lists are, in No particular order....Tanioka's Fishmarket, Off the Hook, ANY Foodland Supermarket/Farms, Fresh Catch, Young's Fish Market, Nico's @ Pier 38 Deli.....among other places. BTW.....Their is NO "accent aigu" in poke, THAT is French spelling/pronunciation
🤷🏻♂️ #1 rated within Waikiki Beach area when we filmed this (based off of Google & Trip Advisor reviews). But that’s not to say there aren’t others that are probably even better. Especially in the greater Waikiki area (as you mentioned)! The biggest trouble we had was finding any options that were open a little later and within walking distance of our hotel/Waikiki Beach area. As far as the spelling, I agree… but we take the exact spelling of businesses from their Google listing and website to make sure it’s accurate. That way if viewers decide to look it up, there’s no confusion. And right or wrong, “poké” is how they have their name/business listed. Also, I wish we’d known Foodland’s poke was so good! We didn’t find out till after we left the islands!😭 Thanks for all of the other great recommendations as well! We will definitely be trying to visit some of them when we return. We went to this natural blow hole and Cockroach Cove which is not far from Diamondhead and the views were so breathtaking. And Cockroach Cove is a hidden gem that I will recommend to anyone going to Hawaii. I can’t wait to see your video of North Shore. We spent a lot of time there away from all the tourist areas and just enjoyed the beaches, views and amazing sunsets. Take care you two and mahalo for the great video😊☀️🌴

Hawaii is great had a great Christmas there back in 2011 stayed for 14 days and taken to many places as we have friends that live there .yes ate at dukes every morning before setting out for our day very good place to eat 👌

There are several reasons people go to Hawaii. For a glamorous vacation, for an elaborate getaway or, because it's Hawaii.
What most people don't realize is that you can go, two people round trip airfare hotel food and car rental for under $7,500, even in this economy. You don't have to stay at a very fancy hotel. It's Hawaii. You will be outside most of the day anyway. You just need a comfortable place to sleep & shower. Also, some people travel and vacation for the food experience. But every time we go, we basic restaurants. McDonald's, Wendy's, Domino's, Pizza Hut & Jack in the box. You'll be in Hawaii. Enjoy Hawaii don't pay for the elaborate hotels and restaurants and drinks.
Have fun and enjoy the Hawaiian experience. Many things you can do for free. But there are some fees, some as low as $5 some as much as $250 per person.
Just remember, you're in Hawaii. Enjoy it.

You needed way more than one day in Hawaii! Last time we went, we stayed for 3 weeks! It was an anniversary trip. Normally we stay at least 2 weeks! Kauai and the Big Island are our favorite islands. My husband’s Father was stationed in Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked. He was Army and was over one of the Anti-aircraft units that shot down 3 Japanese planes during the attack. He survived.
For sure! We stayed for a total of 10 days on this trip and split our time between Oahu and Maui and it still wasn’t enough. Lol… This video was intended to showcase what you can do in one day in the Honolulu/Waikiki area specifically. Thanks so much for watching!

Hey guys !!!! Glad you enjoy MY HOME state! I wanted to drop you a line about a VERY COMMON mistake made by tourist and LOCALS alike. On the island of maui there is a special place called H-A-N-A or Hana. On OAHU the capital city is H-O-N-O-lulu, NOT H-A-N-A lulu.

We had an elderly friend who was a medic at Pearl Harbor the day of the attack. The stories he would tell were heartwrenching. Such a sad place. Dukes is the hotel i stayed at we were so luck im a surfer and a military veteran my favorite place on earth we did the 9 hr island tour goes to pipeline famous surf spot and rode four wheelers for a two hr trip through where Jurassic park and over 100 tv shows like lost were filmed i was upset i couldn't go to Arizona memorial especially being a veteran they were renovationg it

We tend to travel on a pretty tight budget, so our accommodations aren't always luxurious or even upscale, but as long as their clean and safe, we're good with it. And we got a really good rate at the Ramada Plaza, so it was hard to beat! I hope this helps!😊

While I normally shoot our drone footage, I didn’t have time to take it up on this trip, so the footage in this video is actually stock footage that we purchased through Storyblocks.com. Flying a drone on Oahu is perfectly legal. Just pay attention to the restricted zones, authorization zones, and altitude limit zones. With the airport and military base, there are complex layers to the air space. All that said, flying around Waikiki and most of the island is very easy and legal.

AM&N........"#1 poke spot in WKK?!".....By who's criteria is that survey based on?....IMO......One of Da Bes' poke spots on da island is Poke On Da Run in Pearl City. Also, atop locals poke lists are, in No particular order....Tanioka's Fishmarket, Off the Hook, ANY Foodland Supermarket/Farms, Fresh Catch, Young's Fish Market, Nico's @ Pier 38 Deli.....among other places. BTW.....Their is NO "accent aigu" in poke, THAT is French spelling/pronunciation
🤷🏻♂️ #1 rated within Waikiki Beach area when we filmed this (based off of Google & Trip Advisor reviews). But that’s not to say there aren’t others that are probably even better. Especially in the greater Waikiki area (as you mentioned)! The biggest trouble we had was finding any options that were open a little later and within walking distance of our hotel/Waikiki Beach area. As far as the spelling, I agree… but we take the exact spelling of businesses from their Google listing and website to make sure it’s accurate. That way if viewers decide to look it up, there’s no confusion. And right or wrong, “poké” is how they have their name/business listed. Also, I wish we’d known Foodland’s poke was so good! We didn’t find out till after we left the islands!😭 Thanks for all of the other great recommendations as well! We will definitely be trying to visit some of them when we return.
