1. When bending spring metal, heat the metal at the spot you want to bend. This stuff is hard and brittle and you now have a new break point. I was surprised it didn't break on you immediately. 2. You take the pull handle off, then wind the rope on, pull it out a bit, give it a few extra windings and then put the handle back on. No need for a special tool, just undoing a knot in the pull handle and putting it back after you tensioned the spring and reassembled the pull mechanism.
@@Fixologist1there really not crazy.they just work so many hours that they don't have time to do anything but work,family,sleep..but nowadays,there is a fix it video on just about everything out there..what surprises me is the amount of people that don't know about the videos...btw,what happened to the issue with your daughter and the mask?..it blows my mind how many are STILL wearing masks!
Shindiawa is BIG in contractor grade blowers, string trimmers, and other handheld lawn equipment. Also many parts are interchangeable with Echo brand blowers. Actually good stuff... with the exception of this particual design flaw.

I think the curb finds were way more fixable and better built years ago. Found some gems in my younger years.
