When you think about it, the 1460s tend to be more comfortable than the lower 1461 just because the 1460s are higher and don't cut/bite into the ankles and heels nearly as much. But the 1460s are obviously a bit more expensive and takes a little bit more time to put on & take off due to the higher height and longer laces.
The 1461’s are also much more versatile when it comes to looks. I can wear mine with shorts, slacks, jeans.. the 1460s are much more of a statement and therefore look odd without the “right” outfit.
Just had my Doc Marten shoes re-soled with 'solovair' (made in England) soles... wasn't cheap (£70), but cheaper than buying a new pair. Got the best of both worlds😉
@Fodaydontplay Hello mate. Was a cobbler in the UK. Doc Marten no longer supply their souls to independent shoe repair shops, but 'solivair' do.... perfect fit... He even restitched them around the bottom with yellow stitching. 😉👍🏻
I have been wearing dr marten since I was 8 and never had blisters or anything except when i bought the 20eyed boots but other than that the best long lasting shoes, None have torn and look good.
If you have ankle chaffing problems with the 1461 then try the 8053. It's similar in style but the main difference is the 8053 has a padded collar around the ankle area and it has 10 eyelets instead of 6 for a more secure fit.
@@Fodaydontplay The 8053 padded collars around the ankles really makes a huge difference, no break in time required at all. Can be worn all day straight out of a box with no chaffing issues around the ankles or heels.
Hi, I have both the 1461 and 3989 in the same size. But I find 3989 is more roomy than the 1461. Always hurt my heel when I wear the 1461 🥲 and I have a bit of the wide feet. 1461 Smooth Leather (Made In Lao) 3989 Smooth Leather (Made in Thailand) The shoes for both had already break in. And just recently, I was thinking to buy Adrian Bex, any size suggest on the Adrian?
@@yongchunglee which 3989 did you get? My bex 3989 are wider than 1461, but the regular 3989 feels similar. When it comes to Adrian’s then size up they are narrower than 1461.
Wore my 1460s every single day even for work for the last 2 years. They have completely cracked across the top where the toe crease was and the fabric underneath has holes in it so you can actually see my foot inside the shoe but I still wear them the soles are still quite good and they are by far my most worn and comfortable shoe even in this condition. Unfortunately they’re getting to the point where I literally can’t wear them anymore so I bought a pair of rick owens 1460s recently basically to force myself to take better care of them.

Buy a pair of heel protectors for £2. It's essential if you wear 1461 shoes.
Okay I’ll try it next time
