Awesome looking buck! I know everyone is not into filming their hunts but that would have been some killer footage to see that big boy bumping that doe. Yes sir, doe patrol is in full swing. Let's go!
Thank you for not filming 30 mins of a life story like everyone else seems to be doing right now. Yes I just FF past that on them but it was nice to click the video and just let it play. Nice buck of your dad's. Congrats to both of you for your harvests.
Really neat to see you branching out and doing your own thing, after spending some quality time with Bill Winke. Meat in the freezer kind of evening and congrats to your dad on harvesting a super good-looking buck (very symmetrical!)! One thing I noticed (heard) and a small bit of advice, was when you drew your bow back, the arrow shaft raking across your rest made a fairly audible noise. You might want to consider some padding like mole skin or something to quiet your draw. Congrats and looking forward to you connecting soon with a bruiser buck! Keep it real!
That 9 pt is no slouch man... I might reconsider that one! Nice shot on the doe... odd none of the does had fawns? Congrats to Collin as well - beautiful buck!
What was holding your dad's deer's head during his interview? Nice buck! Best wishes this deer season Ethan! Way to be patient on that doe! BigBuckInTheTruck2024
According to the Iowa DNR rules and regulations, Iowa's Early archery season is open from October 1 - December 6th. It is then closed for a few weeks due to Gun 1 and Gun 2, reopens on December 23rd, and closes on January 10th. I advise you to speak with local Conservation officers regarding regulations for deer season. www.iowadnr.gov/Portals/idnr/uploads/Hunting/huntingregs.pdf
@@ethan_stubbsmy opinion stands after calling the DNR HQ. “You can only use bow during second muzzleloader season”.. direct from the conservation officer.
@@ethan_stubbs in fact after re reading the regs there is a section called method of take during season. In that section it CLEARLY states Archery is NOT a legal method of take during early muzzleloader. No need to call the law on this one. They made it easy enough to understand for everyone but you clearly. Go read page 39 of the rules and regs.
I am hunting the bow season with a bow tag. I did not purchase an early muzzleloader tag, the only method of take during early muzzleloader season using that tag is a muzzleloader. You can hunt the late muzzleloader season with either a bow or a muzzleloader. Hope this clears up any confusion you have.
question, why do folks who have a huntable population of deer prefer to shoot pregnant does that may have next years buck population. seems like it defeats the purpose of letting bucks mature, along with a host of other controversial hunting tools.
That’s a good question. I think people choose to shoot does after the rut due to several reasons. Those could be, ease of recovery, different choice of weapon, and it’s usually just an easier hunt. That is my guess, but I understand your concern.

Definitely. Those are always his first words after a kill... "I wish I had the camera" lol. Maybe next year!
Congratulations Ethan's dad! Doe shot was awesome look like she dipped a little bit at the shot.
Awesome buck. Congrats. Great shot on that doe Ethan. I look forward to following along to your season. Best of luck to everyone chasing their dreams!
Thanks! Good luck to you as well. Keep me updated on how your season shakes out!
Thanks for sharing your hunts. I'm sitting on the sidelines this year with shoulder surgery. Will be living my hunts through you, Bill and others.
Sorry to hear that. Praying for a speedy recovery!

Thanks Charlie. It was a nice buck for sure!

Congrats guys. Have a blessed season!
Thanks Cody!
Sweet shot there at the end! You need to get a print of that and give it to the pops!
Haha, I love the pics in “the skinning shed.” I got quite a few pics of that, so maybe we will frame them!
Congratulations to you and your Dad.
Thanks Mitchell, I appreciate the support.

Damn nice buck 👍👊👍
Thank you! Good luck this fall!
@@ethan_stubbs thx, you too.
Sweet
Thanks Aaron!
Quick question what is your camera arm? I’m in the market for a new one after upgrading cameras? Great footage, looked like a beautiful night!
That is the elevate camera arm. Clutch Pro with a Neewer fluid head. 10/10 recommend. Use code estubbs10 to save some money!
What camera arm are you using? Thanks!
I use the clutch pro from elevate and a Neewer fluid head

We posed him for quite a while and he got stiff. Kind of funny how he stayed that way!
Sandhill!
Dialed in.
99% sure it’s not legal to bow hunt during early muz in Iowa. But okay! Muz ran 12-20 this year…

Nice hunt, but do yourself a favor and put some felt on that rest.
