  • Claire Brock is joined by Political Editor Kevin Doyle, Columnist Gerard Howlin and Luke 'Ming' Flanagan MEP to discuss Phil Hogan's resignation.
Kevin Doyle is curious as to how far Phil Hogan wishes to take legal action. He admits that at the time of Golfgate, many journalists knew that he was being forced to leave his job due to the enormous outcry from the public.
Gerard Howlin doubts Phil Hogan has a case. He believes that you serve political jobs at pleasure and it is clear the pleasure ran out for Phil Hogan. He believes Phil Hogan will be missed in Ireland.
Kevin Doyle states that many politicians who leave for Belgium miss the mood back home when a crisis occurs, and due to this Phil Hogan misinterpreted the public's outcry and apologised too late.
Ming is more outraged by the 14-day quarantine as he came back into the country, rather than the events of Golfgate. He believes Hogan is not missed, that the idea is "rubbish."

Ming wanted to get in on the conversation 90 seconds and couldn't restrain himself any longer. He loves the sound of his own voice.
