Remember he said he's speaking not only to the Senate, but also to the public. He wants them to understand what he is fighting for. He wants them to be listening too and I think - I hope - they are. A future President who has learnt from all Trump has gotten away with, who is a lot smarter, and a lot more sinister, could be disastrous, regardless of which party they come from.

They're called elections, but the forced removal of a senator or representative would not be beneficial if that person is hard-working and honorable. Trump is proof of what can happen when you have an amateur in office. We need experienced people in office who know how things are done and who to see to get them done. Trump would have been more tolerable if he had trusted and relied on the experienced people around him - those people in the intelligence community, Congress, and the state department who could have guided him in his dealings with his people and the world. If he cared about our people he would be trying to improve health care rather than depriving millions of it and their protections including those for preexisting conditions. The truth does matter, which is why you have to prove Trump did the things the Democrats accuse him of.
In order to actual obstruct congress the Supreme Court must have made that ruling. Schiff never went to the Supreme Court, he said it would take too much time. So by the very definition of obstruction of Congress Trump is not guilty because the Democrats neglected to get ruling. They have rejected the Judicial Branch of our government in an attempt to impeach the president and get him removed.
The truth is great, but it is very obvious the Democrats have no proof that Trump did anything worth impeachment. So what did the Democrat do? They lowered the standard for impeachment to such a low level that the new standard would have had every single president in history impeached. They didn't impeach Trump with the same standards Obama had, or the same standards Bill Clinton or Bush Jr and Sr had, no, they changed the standards so it applies to every president then they impeach him with those new standards.
The facts just do not support the Democrats claims here. The Democrats are on a power hungry tear ignoring the Judicial Branch and disrespecting the Senate in order to try to push through a partisan impeachment. That much is blatantly obvious to anyone who is paying attention.

For all the claim or moral richness here Schiff leaves out his completely biased and partisan running of the House Impeachment Inquiry for 3 months, allowing Democrats rights he refused to grant to Republicans. If he really cared about the truth he would have spent more than 3 months running an impeachment investigation. Every single prior impeachment inquiry in US history has lasted over a year. Schiff did it all in 3 months by refusing to let the Republicans call witnesses, and literally obstructing the Republicans in the House.
This speech was well delivered but its substance is very lacking. Schiff outright lied when he said Trump obstructed Congress. The only way for that to be a true statement is if the Judicial Branch got involved and made that ruling. Schiff did not go to the Judicial Branch because, in his words, it would take too much time. So instead of 2 branches of government being at odds with one another and the 3rd branch settling the dispute, as the Founders intended, the Democrats never went to the 3rd branch to settle it, the Democrats only just continue to repeat that claim.
The facts just continue to not support Schiff's claims here. Innocent until proven guilty is how it works in the US, not guilty because the Democrats ssay so.

Since Trump, the criminal has been using the ever enabling lower courts as delay tactics, there needs to be a fast-track provision in our judicial system for getting cases heard directly by the Supreme Court if the president or his administration is involved.
