You dont have to pay income taxes in Florida to the state at all. Don't matter what age... Im black, just purchased a house in Sarasota and will be living there within 2 weeks. There is black people in Sarasota (me, my family and many others). But i moved to Sarasota because everyone there is so friendly and its a beautiful City. Hope you enjoyed your trip.... ohh yeah im not retired, not that old 42..

Wow this place looks so family friendly. I'm from Detroit and thinking about relocating. Means alot that this place is diverse. Can you also tell me about Jupiter Florida is that place nice area for blacks

    • @xSUPERoMANx

@@provide247media Sarasota is not as diverse as you may think. Yes there are black people but their is still more white than black by a good amount (blacks account for about 10% of US population sooo.) but I still love it here and feel absolutely at home in Sarasota. I don't know anything about jupiter FL sorry. But if you move to Sarasota there will be more black folks. For me I don't care. It's safe, clean, beautiful beaches, friendly people... All that matters to me.

Well, you seem like a lovely person....so I hope you'll come back. Sarasota isn't really the most diverse place, but its really nice. If you had gone just 45 min to an hour north to Tampa/St. Pete, you would've experienced more diversity.

As an African American Ringling Grad from the mid 90's Sarasota was THE place to be, well off of most peoples radar. Back then sarasota was still very much the super quaint super beautiful and yet super sleepy slow retirement town. with many veterans from wars long past. Thing is.. it was such a slow and sleepy town that those veterains children and grandchildren did all they could to leave the area. opting to live in the larger cities. which made the place extremely affordable despite its obvious jaw dropping luxuries. Again this was a place that was far off of most peoples radar. Heck even places like Tampa saint petersberg and clearwater was also still undergoing a dormant period. All these beautiful locations but most people focused on the states main attractions Orlando, Miami Ft.lauderdale. not so much the gulf coast. I was one of about 8 black students attending Ringling. yup just 8 of us! I got a place on sieta key during my junior and senior semesters and i was the only african american male on the island, excluding one elderly couple. At the time, most people had an angst against florida, always putting down florida, until 911, and until the nations economy began to take a downfall. When the cost of living began to rise and before those notable states like NY and California began to break its residents pockets. Greed and corruption on all levels. All the while florida was living the life. Income was not nearly as much as those cities but the quality of live far exceeded that of most states. people simply did not know what sarasota had to offer. More over i myself hate the fact that as a student i didnt have enough to take advantage of what was available. At the time, mid 90's you wouldnt believe the affordability of key realestate. People looking for other places to vacation outside of the normal afair, who came to sarasota all seem to have one thing in common. Once they got a taste of the place, they immediately made plans to stay. NO i really mean.. people came down for the first time, loved it so much, understood its value, and litterally quit their jobs and had moving company's ship their items down. and ive seen it happen numerous times. Sarasota was also home of the rich, but mostly old money, And so things were catered to an older crowd, and only occasionally allowed annual events that revealed the cities worth. a time when the money could reveal itself. via boat shows, offshore racing, festival of speed, airshows etc. Sarasota was beyond beverly hills or the hamptons. as it was all of that and thensome, but also ironically affordable. As it was a retirement type town. but as the older passed on.. so did the town grow more sleepy until as mentioned the financial shift in the US and the birth of the housing market boon. ANd it was then in most recent years when people began hearing more and more about the gulf coast of florida. most people would still opt into the overly saturated east coast. mostly due to better job opportunities, but it was the gulf coast where really the quality of life far exceeded so many places nation wide. And so the crowds came, first vacationing, getting their feet in the truly powder white sands, and the experiencing the jaw dropping sunsets. a tropical island attached to mainland america. and as such the city of sarasota dramatically grew. but not just Sarasota. the entire region. from fort myers on up to tampa saint pete clearwater. of which i lived in each. i could care less about places like california. As a brooklyn born native new yorker i came to love and appreciate florida back in the miami vice age of the early 80's . and i loved it, then. I also lived in Burbank California, but cali, never really did the trick for me outside of it being central to my career in films. Cali and NY had the money, but not the lifestlye. Ide even go as far to say that new york has a better quality of life than california. the east coast of the US is just more culturally diverse, and it shows in all that it has to offer. NY and FL are cultural melting pots, but few places like florida, has an environment that on its own replenishes the soul.

Me and my wife moved from S.W. Atlanta, and Smyrna to Tampa, and we travel to Sarasota frequently. Can’t even lie I love Tampa with all of the parks and things to do with the kids but we didn’t notice any blacks in Sarasota. But we are definitely thinking about moving there, at this point in my life, vibes and a certain type of quality of life is more important me. Don’t get me wrong I love my city Atlanta but it was getting to hot not matter where you stayed, outside or inside of 285.

We miss it. Sarasota is a more beautiful city though. Our favorite place to go for fun is Miami but it's about 3 hours away from Sarasota so it makes for a good weekend getaway.
