Juan again you’ve released such an informative video! I flew into iSarasota from suburban Chicago to speak at an engagement in May of 2023. I was completely and utterly blown over by the beauty that IS Sarasota! That city, along with St Petersburg(which I visited)has been on my radar every since!
My husband and I vacationed in Sarasota about 20 years ago. We had lobster dinners for $7 per person. Average home prices were $100,000-$200,000s; sometimes less. Sarasota was actually affordable.
Newsflash: $570,000 to $900,000 is not affordable for most people. Due to weather events, property insurance is very expensive. With so many moving to Florida, Florida is losing its charm; getting more expensive; and becoming like everywhere else. Expect to wait in line in many places. Traffic is bad especially with many tourists unfamiliar with where they are going. You will probably need lots of sunscreen every day; and lots of bug spray. There are lots of homeless people in Florida and the homeless population is increasing due to inflation, etc. As for jobs, many jobs do not pay well; so people have to have extra jobs or work long hours. Florida is beautiful and a great place to visit for many. If you choose to move, you must be prepared; and able to afford it.
Definitely, Crab & Fin on St. Armands (Seafood Burrito 🌯 is unbelievable )!!! Mortons Gourmet SRQ on Osprey(I think?)… has tremendous selections of homemade foods!!! Phenomenal selections…!!! Sarasota is truly paradise!! Lido Beach is perfect for a sunset picnic, the world just seems to stop, it’s magical!! Saks at University town center, amazing! Thank you Juan.
Hey Juan, I really appreciate your videos! I am looking to go study in Florida and there aren't many channels talking about the outside of campus lifestyle, so do you plan to do one sometime? Since you mostly talk about that, but for families and working professionals.
Me and the wife are moving there in two months for work. What areas would you recommended where there would be affordable rentals, as we wont be in the market to purchase a home for a year or so.
I want to move to Florida because there’s is no taxes, and because I want to live next to the water in a peaceful town. This looks nice but rather expensive 🤔🤔👀
Hi! My family might be moving to Sarasota and we're quite young, what I haven't found much about is nightlife haha. I kinda wanna know how that is over there.
Hello. I've lived in Sarasota since I was 12 years old. Fort Myers is about an hour south of here (traveling on I-75) and Naples is two hours south of Sarasota. Ft. Myers is a bit more "old Florida" than Sarasota. Naples is nice, but makes Sarasota look inexpensive by comparison.
Nice I am going to need a place to stay till can buy looking at buying a condo but not till I have few month living in FL is there option to rent perfably furnished without a year lease maybe one bedroom or mother in law type having hard time finding this does it exist?
In all fairness, do you think me a 26 y/o maintenance painter single income could even afford living in Tampa or Florida in general? I would like a decent house with a carport/garage. Nothing too fancy. I asked you before but this still comes back in my mind. I live in The Netherlands and thinking about this move every day because just like you im pretty sick of the fairly cold weather. And the ocean area's in Florida look so good! (only seen on internet) Never been to Florida im afraid.
Yes. I'm a believer that you can make it anywhere if you're willing to work and hustle. You can still find homes under $300k if you're willing to put in some elbow grease.
@@trulivingtampaIn Sarasota?,no,show one property thats not complete trash for 300k in Sarasota, your just advertising, you better have alot of money before you move here fact.
Lived in Sarasota for over a decade in the early 2000's. The most nosey people in the world. Very few people are capable of minding their business. Especially the Boomers. I visit often because I still have family here and it's still the same. The narrative is true and when it's not nosey 80 year olds it's drunk millennials.
you better have tons of money if you wanna move here. and i mean ton of money. florida is no longer affiordable place that once was. its not all sunshine as people may think.
Absolutely!! I make 75k a year and it’s not near enough and it’s just me with no kids !!! California people and overseas people have ruined it and Covid didn’t help either. Sucks because I thought I made “ good” money. Wrong. Not for nearly enough !!
I mean, doesn’t it matter where you move from? We’re relocating to this area within the next 1-2 months and the housing cost (rent or buy) doesn’t even compare to where we’re coming from.
Don't worry buddy, give it a year or so and your $875k home are going to be nearly halved. 1) tech is dying nationwide, 2) back to office mandates are calling everyone back, 3) insurance hikes ain't temporary, 4) inventories are building and building and building, and finally 5) The Fed ain't coming to save you. You're heading back to 2019 prices quicker than you think.
1) dying. Work in the industry. Gonna need more than that ... 2) We will never have everyone back in the offices like they were. Hybrid is a minimum. You're a fool if you think younger folks are giving up their flexibility. 3) Insurance is actually coming back down because companies are coming back into the state. More to come here. The prices have come down little thus far ... 4) Another vague pithy comment. Tampa/St. Pete doesn't have an inventory problem ...

You're 100% right about its natural beauty. And thank you for the kind words.
My husband and I vacationed in Sarasota about 20 years ago. We had lobster dinners for $7 per person. Average home prices were $100,000-$200,000s; sometimes less. Sarasota was actually affordable.
🩷🩷 I also hate the snow lol "Don't have to shovel sunshine!"
Amen!

He's trying to sell houses, just trying to make money, nothing new,the man is lying,it's obvious he's bias.
Regarding jobs you are correct & we are told part of our ‘pay’ is we ‘get’ to live in FL.

I'd love to but I would be speaking out of pocket. I'm 46 years old, and me telling you about college life would be disingenuous at best. 😎

They dont charge to park at the Beaches here like orther Cities 😊
Yes. It’s awesome

Sarasota County has 123 Beaches and that doesn't include the ones we make up 😂

It's not Tampa or St. Pete. You won't be bumping at the club but it's got enough to keep you busy.
@@trulivingtampa thaanks!
No night life. Don’t come.
For party, do boating on the weekends.
Gator club and Main Street
Hi Juan, what about Fort Myers-Naples area. I couldn't find anything on your channel about Naples.
It's 3.5 hrs south of us. I'd be talking about something I don't know. We only want to share what we know on the channel. Thanks for watching!

Are you connected to saftey harbor? This is my destination
I am planning a move need place to stay will plan on buying after settling in what is your suggestion
Yes, we cover Safety Harbor too. I did a video on that one as well.

its way too crowded..rethink that part..infrustructure isnt there and builders are looking for a buck..
Is it true Sarasota is a high risk flood zone? Is it good for retirement?
Look at the videos of the flooding in Sarasota with tropical storm Debby
What’s the biggest difference between Sarasota & Bradenton?
A few would be the Amenities, Schools, Home Price, and Beaches to name a few.
Reputation…like Bradenton is the red headed step child to lots of Sarasota residents

yes the insurances have skyrocketed..lots of insurance companys are leaving..gas is higher than the rest of the south..too crowded.
It used to be the land of milk and honey for little money, but those days are long gone for sure.
