Seeing a lot of people give you bits and pieces of info, but still expecting some prior knowledge... I hope this helps with that. K/DA (Kay-dee-ay) is a group created by Riot Games to promote their main game, League of Legends. The game plays out like a sport; it takes 10 players split into teams of 5, each picks a character from the narrative universe of the game (now over 150 to choose from). Each team must break into the opposition's base and destroy a crystal to win. This is currently one of THE most popular PC games, and has a professional tournament watched by millions of people every year. In 2018, that tournament was held in South Korea; so, for the pre-game show, Riot decided to make a K-Pop song. They contracted 2 western talents (Madison Beer & Jaira Burns) and 2 Korean talents ((G)I-DLE's Soyeon and Miyeon) to collaborate on a song, and used characters from the game to serve as their virtual avatars. That song "Pop/Stars" was more successful than anyone expected, so Riot decided to bring the group back, despite initially planning for it to just be a one-shot. Soyeon's character is Akali, a rogue ninja/assassin character. Miyeon's is Ahri, a "nine-tailed fox" character, based on shape-shifting spirits from Korean mythology. Jaira's character is Kai'Sa, who has a living, parasitic suit which she uses to fight evil creatures. Madison's character is Evelynn, a demon who lures prey in with a sensual appearance, before killing them and feeding on their pain.
Yeah and the blue haired girl that featured in this song is Seraphine (one of the newest champhion) and she is Chinese, and the reason why we have Mandarin lyrics in this song is because this year LoL Worlds Championship was held in Shanghai, China.
Also, to give info on the actual kda side of it. Kda now has 2 songs as a group (pop stars and more) and 4 songs by a sole member (I'll show you by ahri, villan by Evelyn, baddest by Akali, and drum go dumb by kaisa). Also lol has another group called true damage with their song giants. Between these two groups, lol has developed a huge following even from people who don't play the games.
Some characters are 1 beat off when dancing is because in the lore only Kai'sa is the lead dancer so shes always on beat while the others are off a bit to give the sense of realism.
League of Legends is a game with a lot of characters that you can choose to play and they sell skins for them, this group KDA, is a line of skins for four characters Ahri(Miyeon), Akali(Soyeon), Evelynn(Madison Beer, she is the one that you like) and Kai'sa(Jaira Burns). They released Popstars first in 2018, and the public loved the concept, so they made a comeback this year and They released a album. They added a new character in one song as a feat, She is Seraphine(Lexie Liu). They introduced her as a "real" person, created a instagram and everything. @@reaKtpop In this album they invited different singers in some musics. I think i can say that the "main" group is the one that i said. Madisson is in Popstars, More and Villain. The album has 5 song: More, The baddest, Villain, Drum go dum and I'll show you. I'll Show you is the song that 4 members of Twice participated, if i remember correctly is Nayeon, Sana, Jihyo and Chaeyoung. Each song has different singers basically.

The original group that consists of KDA is the one credited in More the title track of the album (Madison Beer, Miyeon and Soyeon and Jaira Burns) Lexie Liu is a feature and on the bsides there are other artists (The Baddest is a bside) and you really should react to Popstars it became an huge it and the song is just so good

The one you like the most is the champion Evelynn. In The Baddest she is voiced by Bea Miller, but in More and Pop/stars she is voiced by her primary vocalist Madison Beer. Evelynn also has a solo song called Villain where she is once again voiced by Madison Beer as well as another artist named Kim Petras. For context, if you ever decide to react to Villain-which has a beautiful concept video-Evelynn is a demon. She feeds on agony and her preferred method of hunting is to seduce people and just when they think they’re going to “get lucky” she tortures them to death.
K/DA is a reference to K/D/A or Kill, Death, Assist, which is a scoreboard of enemies killed, player deaths and team assists in co-op games such as League of Legends or Smite.
KDA is the skin line that came out for the champions. It started out with 4 champions that started KDA. Later on a new champion got worked in to League of legends and then evidently became part of the popstar group

You should listen to pop/stars. It's really good. There's also a few other songs such as Drum go Dum. The characters are from League of Legends. You can think of it as a promotional stunt for the game. But K/DA was so popular with Pop/Stars they became an actual legitimate "virtual" band. In that real singers supply the voices but the characters are still fictional characters with fictional pop star drama and stories. The one you said you "really liked" in More has a singing voice by Madison Beer. Her name is Evelynn and she's a shadow demon (and the diva of the group.) She has a stand alone music video called Villian which is amazing.

So basically because riot was like huh kpop pretty cool they made their own fictional kpop group styled after their own LoL champs (evelynn, akali ahri, kai' sa and now seraphine). In short that is
K/DA stands for Kills/deaths/assists its tour score in the game. But for this it’s a skin line for the champions. Kda is a band, the band being the four champions. The features are those that sang them but they aren’t kda since they aren’t the champions. Another linked song to the K/DA mini album with its own recently released concept mv is 'Villain'. The mini album itself has on it 4 songs that are meant to represent the four LOL champion members( all of which have or will have their own concept mvs) with 'The Baddest' for Akali, 'Villain' for Evelyn, 'I'll Show You' for Ahri, and "Drum Go Dum' for Kaisa. While these 4 champions are permanent members of KDA, who voices them shifts throughout the mini album for some members although as many have already pointed out there are 4 main contributing artists who make up the "official un-official" primary voice reps for title tracks and the like. I guess this way Riot Games can produce music on their terms when they need it and not have to rely on matching their time with artists often busy schedules.
KDA members consists of four avatars (they are champions or u can say game characters in LOL), Ahri Evelynn Kaisa Akali, however in different songs they are voiced by different people. The voices of KDA avatar is not fixed. Example, in the song The baddest, the character Evelynn is sung by Bea Miller while in More and Pop star she is sung by Madison Bear. At first i was also confused by this because i dont play lol but i really like KDA so i did some research.

Soyeon is "Akali," the one who has the motorcycle. the next one was Madison Beer, as "Evelyn," the girl who has the sharp claw, and who sing after Soyeon rap. the third one was Miyeon, who portraits "Ahri," the blonde, 9 taild fox. the 4th one was Jaira Burns, who is portraiting "Kai'sa," the 2nd rapper, who has a booster on her back, and makes everything she touched into a diamond. and the last, and new member of K/DA, Lexie Liu, a Chinese, and she portraits the character of "Seraphine," the one who has the long apple green hair.

the "connection" is, fanbase wise, soyeon and miyeon who are completely accepted as Alaki and Ahri just like Madison Beer is Evelynn , they tried to get another Kpop connection but i dont think the TWICE thing isnt working all that well. K/DA is a Virtual Pop Group build around K-pop archetypes.

so not to many people realize this but here ya go for some facts. How they make the animation is have someone in real life do all the motions, so its kinda like... motion captured cgi that is basically everything is done similar then its made into an animation.
good observation they are in fact very slightly of sync with eac other, another example is at 12:52 here all of the girls are looking at their hand except the one on the far right who is looking at the camera

They don't influence gameplay or give you any advantage, but people like making their characters look cool. After Pop Stars, K/DA garnered a lot of buzz. Thus, they released second song "The Baddest" and rumors began about an album. More promotes a new set of skins, is the title track of the K/DA album and promotes the newest League Of Legends hero: Seraphine (light blue hair.) Seraphine, of course, also getting a new skin. Whether or not Seraphine is a permanently member of K/DA seems to be uncertain, and most of K/DA's album doesn't feature Soyeon or Miyeon. I hope that they will keep them as the "main" voices though because TWICE'S song in the album really threw me. The others felt like K/DA songs but TWICE's felt....like a Twice song.

its the same people every time. there are a few normal songs and then every character has one song. the badest was akalis track, she is the rapper and voiced by Soyeon. Ahri (9 tailed fox) is Miyeon, evelynn (with the claws) is madison beer. kaisa (with the floating things) is jaira burns I believe.
Woooo The Baddest is a catchy song, I like (G)I-dle, so that was fun to hear, as for the animation, it's mostly motion graphics (probably done in Adobe After Effects or a similar software), and the cool thing is After Effects actually allows the use of 3D elements, so the cards, the basketball, the kunai-like knives and such were probably implemented there, easy to do it all in the same software, the rest was just a combination of text, effects, and masks, good use of them though, that requires a lot of work. (If you don't use it, check out After Effects if you can, lol, it can really boost how your films look, and if you already know how to use Premiere/editing software or other Adobe software, you're already halfway there in knowing how to use it) More is really interesting (also great song btw), a lot of stylized 3D which requires good amounts of work to model and rig (give bones to the characters so they can move, dance, sing, blink, etc... fur and hair can be particularly annoying), I mean I don't play LoL either (lmao) but they do look like videogame characters so idk if they got them out of the game (at least the base model and the rig), also lipsync isn't as good when they aren't close to the camera, it's really lacking when they're dancing or far (which is fine) they almost just open and close their mouths, and what you mentioned about them being not fully in sync is to avoid a phenomenon called "twinning", which is exactly what you mentioned to avoid them looking mechanic. Dances were cool and funny, really cartoony and not meant to look realistic, the MV overall is fun to watch, what probably sells the video is the textures, the lighting and all those emissive materials (wheel rims, claws, etc), it's absolutely gorgeous (camerawork and lighting in animation is very similar to how it's done in live action film, so you can surely talk about those things ;) ), the vibrant textures and the dynamic lighting and high contrasts blends so well, really like it (BTW sorry I took this long to watch this, just realized you replied to a message I left like a month ago when I found your channel, sorry, YT doesn't tell you that, but I hope you find my "animator" insight at least a bit interesting, love your content Sarah

Pop Stars and More are songs from/with all members of the KDA group. "Villain" is a solo song from Evelynn who is the second lead vocalist of the group and co founder of KDA. Evelynns is a kind of Sucubuss that controls your mind. I think that's good to know if you listen to her song. "Drum Go Dum" is the solo song of Kai'sa who is the choreographers of the group "I'll show you" is the song from Ahri who is lead vocalists and founder of KDA. "The Baddest" is the song from Akali who is the Rapper of the group. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong
Okay. I'll try to fill in the blanks. KDA is a Kill/Death/Assist ratio. It's one of main statistics of the game which pretty much defines how good a player is. Other comments have already told you about League of Legends as a game. Thing is, LoL as a game has MAIN universe where MAIN plot takes place. But there are paid skins that change the way that playable characters look. To justify that Riot created alternate universes where same characters fulfill different roles and look slightly differently. One of those different universes is music universe where champions from the game are singers. KDA is a kpop group from this universe. There is also another band from that universe called True Damage which is actually a side project of one of members of KDA (Akali if I remember correctly, the ninja girl). Seraphine, the blue haired girl with soft voice, is actually an amateur singer. Akali heard her sing and invited her to do a couple of songs with KDA to promote her. There is also a virtual metal band called Pentakill which is part of the same music universe as KDA.

If so then , personally I would like you to react to more of LOL(league of legends) videos trailers/cinematics/Music Videos. I's nice to hear the feedback and your honest opinion on the production these videos do, also it's also nice to learn something new if you can provide facts or tips or anything realted to film production. What i can honestly tell you is that lots of rappers, kpop fansm voice coaches, film makers, animators music producers have all talk good about the quality that LOL brings to the table, would be nice if you join in, just be yourself and if you got time to read and instruct yourself a little about the LOL universe or you can always ask the comment section. I actually watched your reaction (on my phone) 5 minutes after you posted it, but just rewatched it on my computer so I could hear better with headphones. If you didn't see Madison Beer's name in the title, you might not have watched the official video on League of Legends TH-cam channel. I know she is credited on the original video post. Also, the Queendom performances are what I'm anticipating with baited breath, they really put (G)I-dle on a lot of people's radar. If not for "Put it Straight/Say No(Nightmare Version)" performance, it would be my favorite for sure.

The characters are from League of Legends. You can think of it as a promotional stunt for the game. But K/DA was so popular with Pop/Stars they became an actual legitimate "virtual" band. In that real singers supply the voices but the characters are still fictional characters with fictional pop star drama and stories.

So basically because riot was like huh kpop pretty cool they made their own fictional kpop group styled after their own LoL champs (evelynn, akali ahri, kai' sa and now seraphine).
In short that is
K/DA stands for Kills/deaths/assists its tour score in the game. But for this it’s a skin line for the champions. Kda is a band, the band being the four champions. The features are those that sang them but they aren’t kda since they aren’t the champions. Maddison beer and jaira burns were the original Evelynn and kaisa voices when pop/stars came out in 2017/2018

At first i was also confused by this because i dont play lol but i really like KDA so i did some research.

My first animation was 2 stickmen fighting in a Mortal Kombat themed battle, using PowerPoint.

so not to many people realize this but here ya go for some facts. How they make the animation is have someone in real life do all the motions, so its kinda like... motion captured cgi that is basically everything is done similar then its made into an animation.

The songs are basically a vehicle through which to promote skins in the game. Skins, of course, are cosmetics that cost money. They don't influence gameplay or give you any advantage, but people like making their characters look cool. After Pop Stars, K/DA garnered a lot of buzz. Thus, they released second song "The Baddest" and rumors began about an album. More promotes a new set of skins, is the title track of the K/DA album and promotes the newest League Of Legends hero: Seraphine (light blue hair.) Seraphine, of course, also getting a new skin. Whether or not Seraphine is a permanently member of K/DA seems to be uncertain, and most of K/DA's album doesn't feature Soyeon or Miyeon. I hope that they will keep them as the "main" voices though because TWICE'S song in the album really threw me. The others felt like K/DA songs but TWICE's felt....like a Twice song.
What I get reminded of when I see "virtual group" like this are Daft Punk with their Interstella and of course Gorillaz.

its the same people every time. there are a few normal songs and then every character has one song. the badest was akalis track, she is the rapper and voiced by Soyeon. Ahri (9 tailed fox) is Miyeon, evelynn (with the claws) is madison beer. kaisa (with the floating things) is jaira burns I believe.
Woooo The Baddest is a catchy song, I like (G)I-dle, so that was fun to hear, as for the animation, it's mostly motion graphics (probably done in Adobe After Effects or a similar software), and the cool thing is After Effects actually allows the use of 3D elements, so the cards, the basketball, the kunai-like knives and such were probably implemented there, easy to do it all in the same software, the rest was just a combination of text, effects, and masks, good use of them though, that requires a lot of work. (If you don't use it, check out After Effects if you can, lol, it can really boost how your films look, and if you already know how to use Premiere/editing software or other Adobe software, you're already halfway there in knowing how to use it)
More is really interesting (also great song btw), a lot of stylized 3D which requires good amounts of work to model and rig (give bones to the characters so they can move, dance, sing, blink, etc... fur and hair can be particularly annoying), I mean I don't play LoL either (lmao) but they do look like videogame characters so idk if they got them out of the game (at least the base model and the rig), also lipsync isn't as good when they aren't close to the camera, it's really lacking when they're dancing or far (which is fine) they almost just open and close their mouths, and what you mentioned about them being not fully in sync is to avoid a phenomenon called "twinning", which is exactly what you mentioned to avoid them looking mechanic. Dances were cool and funny, really cartoony and not meant to look realistic, the MV overall is fun to watch, what probably sells the video is the textures, the lighting and all those emissive materials (wheel rims, claws, etc), it's absolutely gorgeous (camerawork and lighting in animation is very similar to how it's done in live action film, so you can surely talk about those things ;) ), the vibrant textures and the dynamic lighting and high contrasts blends so well, really like it

Okay. I'll try to fill in the blanks.
KDA is a Kill/Death/Assist ratio. It's one of main statistics of the game which pretty much defines how good a player is. Other comments have already told you about League of Legends as a game.
Thing is, LoL as a game has MAIN universe where MAIN plot takes place. But there are paid skins that change the way that playable characters look. To justify that Riot created alternate universes where same characters fulfill different roles and look slightly differently.
One of those different universes is music universe where champions from the game are singers. KDA is a kpop group from this universe. There is also another band from that universe called True Damage which is actually a side project of one of members of KDA (Akali if I remember correctly, the ninja girl).
Seraphine, the blue haired girl with soft voice, is actually an amateur singer. Akali heard her sing and invited her to do a couple of songs with KDA to promote her.
There is also a virtual metal band called Pentakill which is part of the same music universe as KDA.
This video has been up such a long time and no one ever shared any of this, super interesting! Thanks for letting me know all this 😊

In the rest of your videos, you place that you are a filmaker, right? If so then , personally I would like you to react to more of LOL(league of legends) videos trailers/cinematics/Music Videos. I's nice to hear the feedback and your honest opinion on the production these videos do, also it's also nice to learn something new if you can provide facts or tips or anything realted to film production.

I actually watched your reaction (on my phone) 5 minutes after you posted it, but just rewatched it on my computer so I could hear better with headphones. If you didn't see Madison Beer's name in the title, you might not have watched the official video on League of Legends TH-cam channel. I know she is credited on the original video post.
Also, the Queendom performances are what I'm anticipating with baited breath, they really put (G)I-dle on a lot of people's radar. "Lion" especially, because it was on the show before the MV came out, and was created by Soyeon for the show.
