Here’s some background knowledge for y’all that aren’t involved or don’t know the backstory surrounding K/DA & its’ members.
K/DA, standing for “Kill/DeathAssist,” is primarily known as the “virtual K-pop girl group,”consisting of four themed versions of #leagueoflegends characters #Ahri, #Akali, #Evelynn and #Kai'Sa.
Although it’s not 100% “K-Pop,” since some one of the main members, Madison Beer is an “Mainstream American/English-Pop Artist,” and on the #MORE track we’re introduced to Mandarin via the FEATURED member Lexi Liu -she’s not an original member nor in any other song(s) from the virtual K-Pop group. She was brought into be a FEATURED artist to sort of give more recognition for the character champion, Seraphine as she got a new look along with the entire album being dedicated to the new “character skins.”

6:18 that’s Madison Beer and the one who hits the high note and chorus is Jaira Burns. It is is kinda sad that few people recognized them, they have incredible and powerful voices without them KDA wouldn’t be the KDA we love imo

Madison's voice is great, but apparently she's been apprehensive to people who are fans of her for lending her voice to the character, Evelynn, that she's gotten really salty about it IRL.

Like. That is so gd damn clever and funny and the flow is insane in the bilingual mode, but it also works *just as well* fully in English.

That’s because this was her character’s “solo song.” I notice most ppl don’t know this but RIOT let gave KDA a whole album the second time around and gave each character their own solo song. The baddest was Akali’s solo song and since Soyeon is Akali’s primary voice, she got to go off on the baddest.
I love the fact that Riot seeked out Soyeon and Miyeon when they were still rookies then dropped this banger just months after (G)I-Dle debut. (G)I-Dle has achieved so much in their first year of debut and I love them for that!
K/DA was actually recorded before (G)I-DLE debuted. One of the Riot producers liked Soyeon's solo songs from 2017 (Jelly and Idle Song), so they approached her and she recommended Miyeon too.
@@ZzyzixDidn't they first noticed her from her appearance in unpretty rapstar? Then her solos and of course, she was approached by Riot and must've discovered Miyeon and now the rest is history
As a Lol player I got into kpop and Idle through K/DA. In the 2018 worlds opening ceremony where they preformed Popstars live, Miyeon walked in like the goddess she is and just had me from that point. As someone that otherwise only listen to rock/metal, this was new to me, I'm not gay I promise :D

Would love to see you react to True Damage as well!! Soyeon comes back as "Akali" in the song GIANTS with Keke Palmer, Becky G, Thutmose and Duckwrth. But yeah, they really love having Soyeon as Akali 😂The live performances are also really worth watching.
honestly whether you publish your reaction or not you NEED to watch the M/V for Villain, it is Evelynn's solo song, and it is sung by Madison Beer and Kim Petras, its entirely in english, so i guess in all respects it doesnt really count as kpop, and (G)idle arent on the track, but it is SOOO worth a watch regardless, it's just perfection and also "I'll show you" (Ahri solo song) has twice on it, so i guess thats also worth a watch.
One cool detail about the first sing they did which was Pop/Stars is they did the song before they debuted with Idle so that’s some really awesome research for the people of Riot. Soyeon was more well known than Miyeon at that point but still nice effort
Not quite true, they scouted Soyeon and Miyeon before their debut, but the song was recorded after their debut. There is a behind the scene video of the process on cubes youtube channel.

If Akali (Soyeon) doesn't want another chorus, you don't get another chorus. Who cares what you think. :P The song ends with a FLEX.

Knowing a bit about the characters shows even more how careful they've been with the details in the MVs and I really recommend to take a look at the other three songs from KDA as they're all linked to each of them! (with Baddest being Akali's)
Akali (voiced by Soyeon) is a ninja, in POP/STARS they turned her ninja smoke bombs into neon spray bottles which is super cool. She also collaborated with another LoL group named True Damage for the song "Giants", still voiced by Soyeon.
Ahri (voiced by Miyeon and TWICE) is a kumiho, a Korean kitsune, hence the nine tails. In the canon LoL lore she uses her powers to seduce and feed on men's love, while in this universe she used to be a popular popstar before joining KDA. She has a "solo" song called "I'll show you" with an animated video and sung by the group TWICE that tells her story.
Evelynn (voiced mainly by Madison Beer but also Bea Miller and Kim Petras) is canonically a demon, a very very s3xual creature who lures people with her beauty and kills them in the moment of highest pleasure, and she can turn into a shadow form to hide in the dark. In the KDA universe she's a "diva", very mysterious, and has a long list of lovers that "mysteriously disappeared". She has an incredible solo song called Villain sung by Madison and Kim, with a very aesthetic MV.
Kai'Sa (voiced by Jaira Burns, Wolftyla, Aluna Francis and Bekuh Boom) is the main dancer of the group. In canon lore she spent her life in an alternate dimension and lives in symbiosis with a sentient suit (those wings on her back are also cannons). Her line "I've got different DNA" hints about that. She has a solo song called Drum Go Dum with a dancing video performed by Bailey Sok.
To be fair, Pop/Stars came out 2 years earlier than More AND it had the added hype of being the debut of K/DA so that's why it has a lot more views. People actually like the songs the same but you can't just make up 2 whole years of views 🥰

What's interesting about More is, if you listen carefully at the music instrument, you can hear it's not from an instrument. Its a vocal 😄

Please also react to the 1MILLION X K/DA - MORE dance performance video (Soyeon and Miyeon both appear in it). I really like Seraphine's bridge as it beautifully slowed down the song, preventing it from being too noisy/overwhelming throughout and making the final chorus more impactful. Sometimes less is more.

i don't think anyone else has mentioned it yet but if you peep the background in seraphines room in 'more' there's some gidle posters which i think is really cute of riot to do. also definitely should check out true damage even if soyeons part in it isn't the biggest, it's still really good. there's an ot6 official version of popstars and some ot5 performances from their concerts. i also recommend you check out the live performance of popstars that they did for worlds. aaaaaaaand the 1 million dance crew 'more' performance with miyeon & soyeon!!

I think there's like a whole canon in-universe story behind K/DA collab'n with the character in "More". I remember seeing a couple pictures that was supposed to be like that character posting photos from the video set and stuff lol so cute!

The thing about More is that Seraphine was just introduced the League at that time, so they decided to promote her with K/DA which was very popular at that time thanks to pop star. Now we are waiting for a comeback 😢

The baddest is an akali(the character Soyeon voices) feature hence she gets a long rap verse. The rest of the kda songs feature a member each
That is the thing I love about South Korean's, ( just say South Korean's though other western artist involved here) Rap. Because it is a second language to them, the annunciation becomes very important in their delivery. It makes it clear and understandable even when it is fast flow. I saw this as well in the training videos for BABYMONSTER, the emphasis put on pronunciation and the delivery annunciation of English in thier training. You mention not good rapper in English and this is probably the reason for this. They do have the luxury of two languages to switch between to achieve the flow they need and suits the song. BLΛƆKPIИK members are experts in this, all but Kim Ji-soo have lived overseas and educated in English ( and Lalisa who is Thai, but she is a polygot of 5 languages so has a nack for learning them) and have this advantage over other IDOLS. 👍😁 like you, the BEST for last. 😉

As far as production goes Riot Games Music team composed all of it and they are a master of their crafts. Their music in both League of Legends and Valorant is amazing. But also they have a TV Series called Arcane where both the music and score is great :D

There is actually a whole story that leads us to this point! Seraphine, the blue haired girl is a SUPER HUGE K-POP Fan. A Spotify account (yes a real life Spotify account you can still find it and she still posts music there) with the name Seraphine started posting covers of K/DA songs and it was actually the Seraphine in the video!
K/DA somehow got wind of it and was so impressed by her music, that they invited her to be a part of K/DA. This is super huge for a couple of reasons. One, Seraphine is a huge fan of K/DA. You can see that in the music video, as she lays in bed listening to their music, singing along and adding her own personal twist, when shes singing with them you can see her look at them starry eyed and in disbelief, and you can tell the rest of the group teases her about being so nervous around them, she basically got invited to be a part of her favorite music group. Two, Seraphine is actually the 2nd non-Korean member (The first being Evelyn)! Shes Chinese and sings in Mandarin instead of Korean like the rest of the group.

Welcome to the League of Legends rabbit hole, some of the catchiest songs that were made just for hype songs for the World Championship and to sell skins in the game. The animation style is the song that really helped the animation team of Fortiche to perfect their lighting in animation which they REALLY showcase in the show Arcane. The last song you reacted to More was the song they created as the showcase for their newest Champion Seraphine in the game. I can say honestly that if you want to, look into the League of Legends catalog of songs. With you liking the girl who sings for "Evelyn"'s character so much look up the K/DA song of Villian that really is a showcase to her and the character. They are about to release a new song of a male k-pop group which is why you keep seeing in these videos for the sneak peak of "Heartsteel"

Why wouldn't they let her rap in korean? Lol. She's a korean rapper and the character shes voicing is of east asian descent (tho fantastical). Also league really isn't discriminatory with their music. Have you seen the range in their characters? And most of their demographic is from asia anyway.
