Welcome Buddy! Shane, I don't think I would still have a job if it weren't for your amazing videos. I especially enjoy the longer end-to-end videos, so as far as I'm concerned, the longer the better. Today, I'll be making a Puppy Tracker for my new puppy, Cornwallis!
Hello BuddyBooBoo! I just came to say hello to your new family member. I might watch your video later on when I need this info. and yes, I always watch the longer videos, you do break these up into sections anyway.. all I care about is finding what I need inside your videos. and puppies.
Shane, Worry no more about creating SharePoint columns with spaces, I noticed last week that SharePoint now automatically removes the spaces for the internal name (I've paused the video at 4:40, so don't know if you picked up this later in the video). Yippee! David. P.S. Buddy is cute
Hi Shane , because of you I learnt PowerAPPs so thanks so much for that. I am really happy that you are happy again. May God bless you and your family. Ciao Marco
Really enjoyed this one, Shane. Loved the End-to-End.... I was able to pick up a few new tips along the way. I'll attempt to watch it again and build it from scratch alongside. Thank you for sharing.😀
Buddy is so cute, I am happy there is a new family member. Your videos are awesome, even this long. You learned me how to work in the powerplatform, this resulted in a job. Thanks. Greets from Belgium
Hi Shane, great video and really useful. I like the longer format videos. While being able to search for a specific function or technique and see a video on just that thing is handy, the longer format is really important as seeing this stuff in the context of a whole project allows a much better understanding of what you are doing, and how I can take those techniques and apply them to my stuff. Tell Buddy he's a Good Boy for me :)
What a cute dog!! 😍 It's very nice to see you so happy with him! I both like to long as the short videos.... actually I just like all your videos... Especially the one with a dog in it🐶😻
Hey Shane, what's the advantage of using the Document Library over a List with an Image column? Seems like 2 pretty similar ways to accomplish this, but with the Image column you don't have to do the base64toBinary conversion.
I despise the way the Image columns works under the covers. 😀 But I didn't really think about it at all. Probably a completely reasonable option. If you are curious about Image Columns go try to find the file when you add it. The image isn't where you think it is. Last I checked it was stored in a Site Assets library secretly. Just seems weird.
Hey Shane! Great video. I also HATE the date pickers included in PA and wanted to replace them. However, when I tried your trick, I only have one environment, and it is using premium data storage. So my only option is "Go to PowerApps" . I cannot build the app within teams as you did in the video. Any suggestions on another way to get to that much nicer date picker? Thanks!
Awesome app Shane, I made an app like this not too long ago (it captures documents rather than pup pics and sends them back to SharePoint (office). The app makes me about £100 a month. Just to give context for those saying 'who cares about an app that collects puppy pics'. Idea for next week: Maybe show how to catch the error where the sharepoint ID doesn't exist for the random number generated (because it was deleted). Once again great app and great to meet Buddy!
Hey Buddy!! One thing that would be good to cover in the future Shane, is Microsoft Syntex. I think there are some cool features, specifically document creation that could be useful.
@@ShanesCows thank you, just one more thing if you don't mind me asking, I have created a form via MS Forms i.e., a survey, now I would like the details that are captured on the form by a user to be populated and stored on a dataverse table which I have created. How do I go about this? for example if a user completes an answer 'Do You Like Cookies' the answer i.e., yes to be captured on a particular column on a table?
Shane, Can you post on the flaws in GIT Integration in PowerApps, Multiple users working in Parallel?. Recently one of my colleague's App data was lost while working in parallel using GIT Integration and we could restore only the version which was created yesterday. I can understand that is an experimental feature.. Is there way to import the GIT Commit Source Code file to restore the Power app? I see that the file structure is different than when we export Power app from Power App Portal.
Shane...I'm so sorry for the loss of Chewy, but glad you found Buddy! On a technical note, I like how you did the randomization of the image/file shown, but couldn't that be an issue if/when files/images are deleted? Say someone uploads an image twice (IDs 193 and 194, let's say) and then deletes the duplicate (194). If that formula tries to set the gallery's default to 194 and it doesn't exist, what would happen? My guess is it would default to the first item returned by the filter, but not sure.
Please be careful using workarounds like when you are using Coalesce (around 26:00). Yes, that will get past the power automate error; however, when/if you eventually want to use downstream data for meaningful reporting, like a power bi graph of weekly weight or something that shows the running average weight, having these 0's in your data will give you all sorts of problems.
@@ShanesCows unfortunately finding workarounds that do not have these sort of potential downstream issues makes this stuff very challenging -- that's what I struggle with. Love your videos btw -thanks!

Nice to see you smiling Shane! 😁
Thank you 😀

Thanks Duncan. Funny enough that is the first time I saw Buddy Boo Boo written out and I love it. 🤩
So good to see the new addition, Shane. Bless you both and thanks so much for all your fantastic PowerApps support
Thanks Kermit. 🐸🐶

Hi Shane , because of you I learnt PowerAPPs so thanks so much for that. I am really happy that you are happy again. May God bless you and your family. Ciao Marco
I prefer this type of complete build in one video
Thanks Sergio.
Lovely to meet Buddy Shane, a real feisty CNO great video as always, real informative with tips and tricks to help us all with PowerApps.

Appreciate the feedback Douglas 😎
Hey Shane! Congrats on the new family member. Take care.
Thanks Chris!
Welcome Buddy to the channel! Sounds like Chewy made room in your heart for others to follow. Aren’t our dogs amazing?😊
Yes they are! 🐶😍 Thanks Mark
You should tell microsoft to change their date picker or at leats make the Teams one native. Seems so easy to impliment
I think it is in their master plan, just hasn't made it to the top of the list. I just wish the default one wasn't so awkward to use. 🫤
@@ShanesCows how we can use fluent ui codes in powerapps , is there any way

thanks Shane, buddy is adorable! Please smoosh his face for me.
Will do. 🐶
Hi Shane, top video again. Say you wish to use the phone camera instead of Attach. Which control would u use? will it loose quality?
There is a video. 😎 Power Apps Camera Control, Add Picture Control, and Optimize Image for Upload

Nice video hello buddy . Shane could you not change the ok in the date picker you don’t like to put a red border around it or something
Nope. YOu get no design settings.
Looks fantastic.
Thanks
