This masterpiece turns 20 this year. How is that possible? I remember getting this game for Christmas in 2004. It was something else to experience for the first time.
@ WalrusEternal I also liked them. Plus this track, made it feel like I stepped onto the grounds of an ancient, strangely organic, alien yet calming and omnipresent place of worship as it is a temple. It was alien, but calming, and strangely familiar in that calming feeling.
The music is first of triumph;now finally, you're safe! But then you realize that the place still looks dead, and as the instrument slowly leave, you approach dead soldiers after dead soldiers, while the sky changes colors...
The fetch quest is Retro studios way of saying. " We apologize for making you thru the horrific hellscape that is the planet Aether here is a death ray and a bitchin white armor that looks cooler than any shit the Chozo made which you can use to bring sweet reckoning to the bastards who made your life a living hell." (sigh) Why couldn't she keep the Phazon suit, Light suit or Hazard shield? They were so cool looking!
Even though I didn't enjoy this game as much as Prime 1 or 3, there's no denying that all three games had amazing areas, and equally amazing area themes. Prime 2 had some of my favorite areas. Torvus Bog, Sanctuary Fortress, and of course, the Temple Grounds. I just wish they would've made them bigger instead of having a dark version, although I understand the developers probably didn't have enough time to do so.
I wonder why this particular Phazon impact caused an entire alternate dimension to form. Not only that, but most of the Phazon is in Dark Aether. It's even in the final boss room! My question is what relationship does Phazon have with the Ing?
True about the Light suit's color. But what about Light suit's design with Dark suits coloring? Same with the Gravity armor in Super Metroid and the Fusion suit overall. Can't say i've seen the Hazard shield on Phazee because i'm looking for a let's play which can give at least the plot important scan data.
At least you finished it. By the games midpoint the Ing had me so scared i just stopped playing period. Nothing in gaming before or since has caused the same reaction. Not even Ocarina of Time's temples and i get panic attacks by merely remembering the music of the Forest Temple.
That was nothing compared to the Chozo ghosts. Especially the early fights without the X-ray visor. Or the Fission Metroids that only power bombs could kill. And Prime was my first encounter with the damned hellspawns (Not counting Fusion and that evil bitch Omega Metroid As if going three straight rounds with the SA-X wasn't horrible enough.) So i didn't know about using bombs to drive off the fuckers.
Do you remember when the sky above would pulsate purple while exploring this area?

This dark game was my childhood. Yup lol

Sweet god Almighty!
Remember...
I Never Forgot this gamed Awesome Ambient and Mysterious soundtrack!
Luminoth chanting as you took every step on their main home land. Perfect ambience music.

The 2nd is the most emotional. Ive actually felt sad and creeped playing it
Really? I thought that was pretty neat.
The sky changing color was symbolic of evil trying to overtake good.
Yall ever have a song from a game that, when you hear it, fills you with warmth like "I'm home"?
Temple Grounds is that for me. Prime 2 is the best

This game, in my oppinion, was the true challenge in the trilogy D:

I like this game
Hm? I thought it would be called great temple grounds like it is with sky temple grounds
Samus: here's the ship and the rest of the troopers.
