  • Both 하면 and 한다면 are often translated as “if (you) do (something)” but what is the difference? Why is it that you get to see 한다면 in more poetic contexts? Find out why and how to use -(ㄴ/는)다면 in today’s video lesson with Hyunwoo.

I was once told by my Korean teacher that Korean grammar isn’t hard, it’s just a combination of very easy things. This is the perfect example. I never realized the whole abbreviation thing. That’s so smart.

it's similar with a lot of the "hard" languages I've found. there are some concepts that initially seem very odd or a higher amount of "different" things but there's usually some internal logic and with repeated immersive practice it starts to feel natural.

What I really love about you guys is that you explain things not only IN context, but around context as well. It's one thing to say, "this means this". It's another thing to say "in THIS context, it means this". But even further, you guys explain the evolution of the concepts and ideas which really, REALLY ingrain the concept/idea into my head. There is so much detail in small bits of Korean this really helps to make everything make sense.

Seriously, I'm teaching myself a bunch of different languages, but Talk to Me in Korean is in my opinion one of the best language learning resources out there. Interesting, high-quality, and informative, Talk to Me in Korean videos and books have helped me get to a level where I am almost able to watch a Korean show without subtitles. I want to say a big thank you to you guys from TTMIK. I am not an english or korean native speaker but I really like to learn new languages. As a language student from Brazil (and I always learn every language I want all by my own) I would probably not know how to speak korean as much as I know now if I hadn't your lessons. If I become fluent in korean one day as I am in english now (not too fluent, but okay) then it will be because of you guys. You are always saving my life haha
