Love the support content the most! To me at least, support seems a bit more abstract to do the right thing than core and, unless I want quick tips videos, I find there isn't a lot of quality content out there laying out general principles. I feel like Dota videos have a bias towards carry material generally so I get hyped for all your support content. I think you have the highest combination of Dota knowledge and clear instruction of any Dota content creator and your editor does a great job too! Thank you.
Check out ZQuixotix th-cam.com/play/PLHQyUE9yPrPMm_0_2yJYobT0HToPAlP8-.html That;s the best support content I found a year ago. The channel is incredibly undervalued for all the info the guy gives on supporting.
@@iPlayDotaReligiously I mean, the concept being taught is the same for any dota patch. If you are looking for something like "10 things you have to do with X hero to support like a pro" , then yeah 1 year might be a long time. @@eXWoLL Thanks mate I have seen a few of his videos and they are definitely very useful, especially uploaded from a support main. I'll definitely have to check out some more videos from him. Despite that, I still put greater weight on bsj's support content because of the huge mmr gap between the two players (about 3k gap last I recall) so I get pretty hyped when bsj uploads something directed towards support players. Edit: One thing from ZQuixotixs channel I'd love to hear bsj's thoughts on is half pulls. He has an excellent video on pulling and mentions half pulls in detail and yet I've never heard bsj mention it once.
Really like the outline you put in the beginning so we can determine what parts of the video will be useful for us as well as mentally prepare us for what you're about to teach. You are legit getting better at this every single day. It's inspiring dude
YESSS more support content pls! The part toward the end where you talked about the strength of your lane duo based on your carry (AA has no spells, but you're still strong enough together to play aggressively) was an eye-opener. I feel like hearing support advice from someone that primarily plays carry helps a lot, since you've played with enough good and bad supports both to know what you want your lane partner to be doing at any given time.
Another well-structured video that was easy to follow and understand. I love how you are now making videos with specific techniques / strategies in mind!
I love the support content you post. I calibrated at 400 (I know) and I've made it to 1400-1500 playing only support. I credit a lot of it to your videos. More support tips are always welcome BSJ!
9:30 adding to this: most damage earlygame is physical aa's attack buff does like 90magic dmg that's 2 autoattacks stuns and slows are best used to get more attacks in otherwise they're not worth using the mana offensively while laning
The amount of info you can learn on this channel is amazing. Not counting further updates, existing content is enough for us to ponder for a long time.
I just reached immortal (for the second time) as pos 5, and this type of content is extremely helpful. There aren’t many places to find really good in depth support content on TH-cam, keep it coming please!
Love the Support content. Understanding how to play as a support and breaking down what should be prioritized in lane has been super beneficial to my DotA experience.
This is a very good concept that many people don't have. Every time when there's a hero that have an escape like Faceless void etc, they will automatically think that he will time walk away so there's no point in harassing. But time walk have like 20 sec CD or something level 1 and it will be like that for quite a while. As soon as he time walked, he is at his weakest. However, most people only think about "Faceless void? He will jump my damage, lets just ignore him"
This is great educational content. - Focus on what is really important. - helps understand the why. There is a lot of things we see in high level dota that is hard to understand why. - give a clear guiding on how to adjust even when playing core. (My support should but he doesn't -> ok) (Enemy support is making a mistake -> punish) - if the concept are well understood they can be planned in advance of the laning stage -> no need to process it live.
1)Lion and brew(Double stun lane with slows and disables) vs lifestealer and AA 2. Secure range creeps 3. To ascertain which team has better wave clear and pull and block camps according (Lion and Brew have better wave clear hence pulling the small camp is less beneficial then blocking the large camp) 4)Understand The matchup i. e when you are strong and weak(Brew and lion are powerful with abilities but without abilities ls is strong) and take advantage when you are strong 5.Understood who will tank the damage in this lane and position yourself accordingly
Please do an after laning stage guide too. No one is willing to communicate nor understand each other's hero nor gameplay and it's kinda hard to be on the same page. So I would like some tips to do the right choice.
Based on other Bsj video, the answer to that is: 1. Push the dead lane carefully 2. Stack camps 3. Be proactive and call for ganks, buy smoke for it as well 4. If enemy is pushing, cut waves
Make sure mid doesn't get taken. If your midlander goes to gank your offlane, occupy mid (push it if you can, sap xp primarily and defend the tower). Help your offlane take their safelane t1 tower. If they start bringing a lot of people in to defend you don't need to fight, your carry getting space for free farm is just fine. If your carry comes in to fight, leave and push your safelane. For the most part, balance pushing mid and your offlane (if you're pushing your offlane and the creepwave mid starts hitting your tower, go mid. Same thing vice versa). If you can't push either (maybe your team has turned your offlane into a warzone), then stack camps, try to push your safelane (not stealing farm from your carry) or arrange a smoke gank. Ward where you/your team wants to play. Jungle wards are great, they can give you some easy smoke ganks. Wards behind towers are also great, they help scout out the enemy. Basically, split push whenever possible, have wards that help you do this and stack or gank if you can't push. I hope this helps! Idk what mmr you are so maybe you need something more in depth. I play jakiro and push like a maniac and it just works most games. BSJ's coaching Eri videos are really good for support content and in most replay reviews he says to focus on split pushing.
love all of your content. As a support, its always useful to get what the core wants in their lane so seeing your thought processes and wants from a particular lane, matchup, and specific support/core pairings is super useful and insightful
I wish all my supports in lane could watch this video. One of my biggest pet peeves of mine is that people just do not understand how to harass them. It seems that the default for most supports is to just sit behind the carry and play passively while the carry has to essentially 2v1 and burn through all their regen to get any cs. Supports just cannot grasp the idea of right-clicking enemies. They think they need mana and spells to be useful when that isn't the case. As BSJ says at 9:27, just hit them! When I tell supports to be more aggressive, they take that to mean to commit on the offlaner and start a fight, rather than harass.

I know that one gives relatively more than others, but as you say "jungle creeps are a huge deal at this stage of the game I find it hard to judge how much I should consider a risk/reward situation of acting with them in mind
Good content! This and the equilibrium video have given me things to think about in my game. How can I not fall behind when the laning stage ends? I find myself getting levels behind unless I'm hard farming.
Can you explain in a video, when to hit creeps. I kinda understand the part about keeping lane equilibrium and such, but I also many times see high mmr players just clicking creeps, even in the first wave? Is it just when you can secure the creeps, you go for it? Or is it to create more pressure on opponents when more of your creeps are alive that if they come last hit they'll lose a lot of hp? Then at times, it's clear that you should just static the wave and not hit creeps. But I'm not sure when to do what.
