so not only is this not your own video you spend the first minutes thanking a handful of people -- worse is that the video had a lot of waffle and not carefully scripted with zero research into the product - a product that you clearly don't own and trying to voice an opinion. Sony have been absolutely clear that this is playstation 5 accessory - this device is in response to more and more people using remote play on their phones but wanting a proper set up for when they can't use the TV. This is an accessory just like the PSVR is. So how is this a scam??? They've not called it a playstation portable because it's not intended to be one, and is instead a portal to connect to your ps5. It's not for everyone...just like some people prefer over the ear headphones, some wants inear earphones, others are happy with their TV audio - it's just another option. It clearly states on their website and the box a PS5 is required. Just look at Backbone - the have a contorller for $99.99 - no battery, no light strips, no rumbler, no adaptive triggers, and no screen -- for for a $100 more Sony have provided that... no more having to attach a controller to a phone if someone wants to watch the TV or you want to play in bed. Now if we look at the Vita, that was $250 when launched in 2019, which is the equiv to $300 today. So again, how is the portal device a scam when you are getting all the features of an excellent cotnroller with a screen larger than a phone and a battery built in...and is a lot cheaper than what a portable gaming device like the Vita would be -- even the entry level steam deck is around $400. So $200 for a second screen to use around the house rather than propping up a tablet or using a phone seems like a bargain and a great idea. How many people actually play games on the go??? and those that do, what type of games are they playing??? -- those that use the switch are rarely playing graphic intense games like GOW, spiderman, hogwarts etc -- in fact for them to play hogwarts the graphics and frame rates has been dropped a lot and adjustments made to make it playable. Switch games are 720p when docked and sometimes 540p when in handheld... even with playstation portal it's 1080p. Sony may in the future, based on the popularity of the PS portal, go back to creating a dedicated portable device like the vita and psp BUT these devices werent that popular outside of Japan, it required devs to get on board to adjust their games, and there would be a drop in quality. The majoy issue i have with the Portal though is the connection - i have no idea why they can't use wifi direct between the ps5 and portal whilst at home and near the consol...this would create a much stronger and dedicated connection reducing interference. The other issue is the fact it can only stream games on your ps5... with a ps plus premium membership you should be able to connect to the internet and play games in the cloud - just like the ps5 can. Anyone buying this thinking it's a cheap portable console and not bothering to read the box or website only have themselves to blame. It would be like buying a PC but not reading that you need to buy a monitor, keyboard, and mouse to use it... it would be like booking a hotel where it says "flights are not included"... or buying a phone that clearly states whats in the box and then moaning theres not charging brick. i should also make it absolutely clear - i have not bought one... i casually game and have the backbone instead (of course bought when heavily discounted) for when i want to do some light gaming in bed etc. But to call people morons and a bunch of other names just because you can't see a use for this is childish. If you want to make bold statements then do you research, buy the product to properly review, spend time with the product -- and for the love of god stop saying "basically" as theres nothing "basic" about it

Wifi 5? 1080p? What is this from 2010? Backbone is typically on sale for $50-$60 avg. if you can’t take it travelling, because Sony was too cheap to put a web browser on it, then it’s just not very useful.

There is so much misinformation in this video. If a person purchased the play station portable thinking it was a standalone and no PS five was required that’s on them for not doing any research. The portal is amazing for many people. A lot of people grab families and the TV is taken up use the portal to catch up on their gaming. Someone like myself who is in essential caregiver for my mom and goes to her home A lot to help her use my portal when I’m there to catch up on my game.
People spend $200 on competition controllers everyday and I’m not supposed to spend it on a controller with an 8” 1080 screen that plays all of my PS5 games anywhere in the world?

I saw a pretty good phone for like 150usd,7 inch with much better reso,45fast charging (freakin 45w),and get this.....6000mah battery bruh that + a backbone (cheap one cost like 10usd) and there you go,a 100% much better ps portal for a price of 160usd🗿

Dude, you are so off on everything. First of all, there are many reasons to play remote. Lazy has nothing to do with it. Second, you don't need to log into wifi with the device. Everyone carries a cell phone. Log in to wifi with the cell phone, then tether the portal to the phone. Next, the portal can wake the ps5 out of sleep mode. The apps for the cell can not do that. When away from home, the apps have to get access to your ps5 through your home router, so the router has to be configured properly. Some people are not savvy enough to set it up. The portal isn't perfect, but it is the best way to access your console. I've used my phone at home using an app..it worked great. I decided to see what would happen if I put my ps5 to sleep. Sure enough, the app could not wake it up and could not connect. You apparently don't have a PS5, and it seems not very tech smart. You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but if you are going to do gear reviews, it might be a good idea to know your business.

Let's be honest first you make a video using a background script from someone else speaking of a device that you don't own and don't know anything about it is a screen mirroring device that shows the UI of the PS5 and allows you to play your digital library and the one disc inserted in the console. If you have the disc version using a powerful internet connection, it's not meant to multitask and do other things like your phone. If you're using the $100 backbone PlayStation edition second and final you should learn how to read the box and stop claiming. It's a scam because most people buy this for the fact that either you have family visiting over or your kids and your wife want to take over the TV and you have a way to continue playing your PS5. I have a Nintendo switch to game everywhere. I want I only bought this for the purpose that is stated in the box. If you don't know how to read and understand the uses of the portal and don't even own one or a PS5 then your video obviously makes no sense.
