I remember this game as a kid, holy shit it was so scary and atmospheric. In game box there was this black-and-white manual with lore description, pictures of pentagrams and demons, powerful stuff for a kid. And ill never forget room full of impaled bodies and big demon with cleaver saying 'fresh meat'. I liked dark fantasy stuff earlier, but this game cemented my love for gothic grim worlds.

I'm so glad/grateful that someone with such talent also has a passion to match so we can all share in this wonderful recap of such a classic story. Feels easy to see that this gift comes from a seasoned passion and now new comers can experience a memory many of us thought was lost to any who weren't there. I just beat the game yesterday for the first time. Took me 16 hours according to GOG. My first Diablo game (never played a game similar to it either). I really liked it a lot though it got really annoying towards the end with so much projectile spam from off screen. Had a hard time at that last floor. So crazy to hear that. You make it sound so effortless. I nearly lost my sanity.
I took Albrecht to be more akin to 14 than 10. Aidan likely would be either an older teenager or early 20-something. Depends on how Blizzard spun the lore on the royal family.
Recently found this channel. Diablo and other blizzard games were part of my childhood. Is there maybe an hour long(or so) recap of diablo 2 on this channel? I tried watching act1 video but id rather a shorter version without every dialogue for every NPC.

@@cm9241 D2 absolutely did NOT have more atmosphere or mood than d1 lol. D1 was almost a horror game. D2 is still pretty dark and morbid, but it definitely was toned down from 1 by comparison. And D3 completely trashed varied skills/builds to focus almost entirely on loot so I would disagree about the mechanics.
Ive got an original Ps1 Diablo in the case. Bought it off ebay about 7 years ago for $30.....people are getting almost $150 for a complete now. Still have mine.
I don’t remember Diablo himself in Diablo 1 ever having the Fire Nova, Firestorm, and Red Lighting Inferno abilities like he does in Diablo 2, yet this video has really cool footage of him with those abilities, alongside his standard Apocalypse ability. Is this a Mod? Or was this a later patch version I never played? I would love to try to play the game again when he has these abilities! Thanks!

The cutscene was an unused intro to Diablo II. The Collector's Edition came with a DVD that has intros and cutscenes from several Blizzard titles in the Diablo, Starcraft, and Warcraft universes.
Well I appreciate the 10 year old boys unwilling sacrifice, without him where would be all the LOOT i get each day if he didn't unwillingly spawn diablo.
Is just sad and brutal that All 3 heroes faced a destiny worst than death T__T they defeat Diablo but in the end, Diablo won. I feel like all we accomplished in D 1 was pointless and yet Diablo 1 still holds up and is the scariest game in the series bar none.
Diablo 3's story reminds me of something J.J. Abrams would write. It's horrible with the canon, they wipe out three of the five Archangels kind of like how he blows up Vulcan in his Star Trek movie, it's loaded with memberberries like the Butcher and Leoric, it makes absolutely no sense that the Warrior in Diablo would be Leoric's son considering the execution of what would be his mother didn't get him to return but the Dark Rider thing got him to stop on the way through, no one recognizes the prince in Tristram, is a convoluted plan that requires people make certain and often really bad choices even those that aren't influenced by Diablo, and on and on. It's easily the worst story in the series. Perhaps even the ARPG subgenre.
Great voice acting! However, I don't quite buy the story that the Warrior was the king's son. I understand Blizzard added this part recently with (the failed) Diablo III, but I much prefer the story as it was originally - the warrior is just 'a warrior' returning from battle, that the player (we) identify with.
You all know me; know how I earn a livin'...I have a serious question: the "dealer" who wanders around the town square with that large pack of wares on his back in the Belzebub mod, was the an NPC who was cut from D1, or did the people who did the mod create that character themselves?
The original version that was intended I think makes more sense. Here's my thoughts. The prince/warrior takes the soulstone and is slowly curropted by it. He than is slowly possesed enough by the soulstone that he drives it into his head and makes the possesion complete. Id say to me thats canon and the other story of him doing it immediatly is stories by townsfolk.

@@theBloodBank nope... i love d2 that much, i already havea lvl 78 nec and two other lvl 50 chars... trust me this sever shit wont dampen it too much.. even with the negative press & server problems... battlenet stays maxed out with every location based server full to the brim.. because the fanbase for d2 is massive... the only reason it had server issues is because they didnt anticipate the fanbase still being so eager to play d2 after all these years... and tbh.. it had server issues originally as well, with every iteration rereleases, and expansion, ppl flood the servers and they have to mitigate... its common with alot of games..

The story of POE is sorta like D2 twisted with an odd sorta Polynesian mythology vibe. It goes pretty deep and would make a good video I think.
I should try to challenge myself and go full tank and less damage. That way the battle lasts a lot longer.

@@theBloodBank nope... i love d2 that much, i already havea lvl 78 nec and two other lvl 50 chars... trust me this sever shit wont dampen it too much.. even with the negative press & server problems... battlenet stays maxed out with every location based server full to the brim.. because the fanbase for d2 is massive... the only reason it had server issues is because they didnt anticipate the fanbase still being so eager to play d2 after all these years... and tbh.. it had server issues originally as well, with every iteration rereleases, and expansion, ppl flood the servers and they have to mitigate... its common with alot of games..

& honestly man, me not playing diablo, one of my all time favorite games, the absolute progenitor of looter dungeon crawlers.. wouldnt do much, these companies are more than their executives and upper management.. Were talking thousands of people that just want to make games and make a living.. If you think activision is the only place with shitty management that let executives do wahtever and look the other way your naive... I'd say 95% of most corporations have some level of this in one or more of their branch buildings, its just not brought to light yet and california activision blizzard isnt ALL of the company... they have branch divisions all over the damn world and all over the country.. So support? lol thats a kinda ridiculous statement.. If you dont want to support anything that has a shady persona, Then i suggest you go live off the grid in the woods somewhere... Because everything is effing shady these days...
