About the piece:
As musicians, practising often means playing the same things over and over again. At the end of the day looking back at the hours spent in the practice room playing the same part 'again and again', the significance of this seemingly boring process is not fully realised until put into context, becoming something much more meaningful in the end.
I wrote this piece in the summer of 2017 to be performed for an I&E indoor marching percussion competition, with the 3-minute time limit in mind, as well as the timbre of synthetic budget marimbas used in many marching environments. Aimed at high intermediate-level players.

I love this piece so much and the technicality of it is amazing but there are some inconsistencies between the sheet music and this recording which are weird but I still love it

My high school senior played this nearly every day and passed it down to this year's seniors. I haven't learned this yet but I for sure will. This and ghost garden are the main marimba solos that get us through solos.

You should work on a piece involving more percussion but featuring marimba! I am sure the percussionists would love to play something that you wrote.
Played this, only complaint is the weird note groupings, other than that, it’s absolutely amazing. Thanks so much for making a short marimba duet that’s four mallet and on a 4.3 octave. Pretty much the only one I found that fit our criteria
