    I've been a nurse for 35 years. Done all types of nursing. I think in the healing of others we forget to look at the mind, body, emotional connection. Our stories matter!
    i want to thank you with all of my heart for your videos. You are speaking healing into my life and into the lives of those who have suffered. It really is a beautiful thing to think about!
    I see you as a wounded healer. i am so sorry for your wounding. I admire your courage and love for others. Keep speaking words of life and breath to the wounded. You are a light to the world.

    This channel is a revelation . I think I’m just piecing together the attachment style with people-pleasing and hyper-vigilance , anxiety. All starting to connect and make sense . I’m a counselling student in 🇬🇧. Thank You 🙏🏻 x

    5:57 "we're so focused on reading everyone else that we don't learn how to read ourselves. We actually don't know what's going on inside because we're scanning all of the time." 🎯🎯

    I LOVE how you made this connection.. when we're so focused on everyone else and we need a story... everything ends up being our fault. "I am bad"
    "there's something wrong with me"

    I´ve been watching your videos for a week now, and I just want to say: I love your style! Hahaha, you´re not only beautiful, but you seem to be such a tender and sweet human being. It´s so refreshing. Thank you for being a light in our dark moments. There are therapists that just don´t get it. I think that by doing your work I can finally heal.

    Dr. Kim Sage, I just flooded your comment section but I just want you to know that I'll be returning to this GEM as I continue my healing journey throughout this human lifetime. I will share this mental health media with others! Thank you so so so much for your insight and vulnerability. Btw, I'm a graduate marriage & family therapy student.. so to hear a professional psychologist disclose that they too have to work through their anxiety is like a BREATH OF FRESH AIR.
    Question- Can you make a video on the dorsal/shut down state? Do we numb (drink alcohol, smoke etc) because we are anxious/nervous system dysregulated?

    • @DrKimSage
      @DrKimSage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So happy you are here and awesome that you in the field! I honestly can't remember if I made a video on dorsal (since I post a lot on Tik Tok too) but I will add it to my list! Thank you so much for taking the time to share and post!!:)

      EVERYWHERE we go?

    • @Alphacentauri819

      We can be very removed from what others think.
      It is a learned skill. Just as we learned (were conditioned/programmed) to be over aware, tuned into how others perceive us, and then learned to modify, etc...we can reprogram the thought patterns (often cognitive distortions, limiting beliefs, biases, etc) that keep us trapped. Healing our core wounds (often deep, subconscious (sometimes unconscious) painful beliefs that we are unworthy, will be rejected, will be abandoned, aren't good enough, are defective...and so on. We usually have a stronger core wound, that if we address it...is key. Once we see ourselves, from the inside out, as worthy and valuable...we no longer respond very much to messages that don't correspond with those beliefs.
      Just as if I told you, you're an orange caterpillar, with 2 purple heads, who will become a silly 4 headed butterfly...you would likely laugh, not be affected. Why? You have no previous "program" that says you are any of that, so it doesn't "hurt" or bother you!
      Once we heal the wounds that can be bothered by others, we become immune to their judgments and evaluations.
      We know who we are. We attract others who see it too. We let go of those who try to reflect back things we no longer believe about ourselves.
      The change is completely possible!
      One of the most powerful tools I've used is ACT. Acceptance and commitment therapy. There is a fantastic journal, written by two psychologists, that you can do 5-10 min a day. Powerful.
      It helps to question the narratives (meaning) we give things, the self imposed rules/restrictions, the mind patterns we feed (which are the primary source of our suffering).
      I wish you well! It can be done 💫

    7:18 learn how to stop doing so much mind & mood reading/analyzing... we learn how to slow our body down (nervous system is regulated) practice turning inward first!
    I also love the idea of asking ourselves "is this true" when we rush to interpret/making meaning through telling a story.
    8:37 "outside-in-orientation.....we are first looking to the rest of the world to decide if we are okay... that gives away all of our power, our feelings, and our wellness away to everyone else."
    OMG! That's brilliant 🤭 I relate so hard hehe. This is what I've been consciously working on. Changing the orientation I have toward my worth/value, it's truly a practice/ritual.. I think it's funny how people try to preach it as something you can just turn off as if it's a light switch. When I think of it as something I truly have to decode out of my system and replace with a NEW code.

    • @DrKimSage
      @DrKimSage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I agree completely on the code!
