For context, I was getting Cs and Ds in my mocks; I had no hope left for my grade. I largely attribute my grade to your videos, which helped me a lot. I really appreciate all you've done. Im a bit late, in fact around an year late , I thought I commented but yeah I didn't. I gave the Feb/March IGCSE exams in 2022 and got A* in all my subjects and trust me my A* in biology is all because of this guy. Thank you so much for this. Also I recommend anyone whose going for IGCSE to watch his videos thoroughly. All I did was watch his IGCSE Biology playlist from start to finish 3 times with full concentration and took screenshots of the important slides. A day before the IGCSE exams i just printed those important screenshots and read them. A few hours before my paper 4 and paper 2 and on the way to school I read Z notes as they were very concise. Trust me if it weren't for his brief explanations and amazing teaching ability I would have ended up with a B so yeah. Thank You very very much and I will surely return the favor in one way or the other someday. I AM JUST POSTING THIS TO TELL ALL THE STUDENTS THAT HOPE SHOULD NEVER BE LOST EVEN TILL THE LAST MINUTE AND NEVER FEEL LOW EVEN IN THE DARKEST OF TIMES. So Here is my STORY: I was always an A* Student....Always, at least till year 7. In year 8 I wanted to become the 'cool' kid at school so I made bad friends and my grades dropped. I corrected myself in year 9 and became better BUT... Covid -19 struck and year 9 exams got cancelled and I could not asses myself. Year 10: In year 10 'First Year of IGCSE' we had online classes the whole year. And of course I took 11 Subjects. I had no motivation to study and always used to open up TH-cam or Minecraft and just wasted time. I always found myself good at Physics, Math, Chemistry and CS as i could grasp them very fast, them being more application based subjects. I was struggling in Biology, economics, business studies and just cheated through all my tests and exams, I never made notes in class. Year 10 finals took place online, I cheated through most of it. My whole year combined result came out to be 4 A's (Low 80's in Physics, Chem, Math, CS, Add Math) 1 B in biology (cheating got me through) , 1 C in economics and another B in business (by again cheating). I got a D in english because I did not pay attention in class and thought it was easy. I got a B in second language (even tho I knew it before) and a B in Environmental Management. I cheated in almost everything (except math, we had an amazing teacher and I loved math) even tho i did not want to. Year 11: I wanted things to change. I practiced math over the summers and became quite good at it. School started and I was scared as IGCSE was just an year away and I knew nothing!! I knew NOTHING. Online classes started and I just continued to waste time again, knowing it was wrong ,i just couldn't focus. This continued. In June I dropped Economics and Business because of lack of interest. I was still taking the highest number of subjects in our whole school. (9) I felt low and thought all hope was lost until... mid August. Offline Classes resumed in September and I knew some-ish stuff. Year 11 (October): Mock Exam 1: (4 Months before exam) I had been studying (kind of) for 1.5 months. I had been watching Cambridge in 5 minutes for Biology all videos in the playlist, freesciencelessons for physics (a few videos) and just reading through chemistry from my textbook. I was good at math. I Practiced a few past papers but still wasted a lot of time. My Mock Exam was in person at school so there was no way I could cheat. I got a B in, Physics, Biology, CS, EVM. An A in SL, English, Math and Add Math. A C in chemistry. Our math paper was very tough and I got the highest. A PTM took place and teachers were not happy and knew I could do better as they taught me when i was an A* student. My chemistry teacher said this: 'He will not be able go on to do A Levels, he needs a tight slap. But, I was quite happy with how I performed considering I knew NOTHING 1.5 months prior to the exam. But I was still not satisfied, I became HUNGRY for more. Year 11 (November): Break: (3 Months before exam) During Year 10, I watched a lot of youtube videos on studying abroad in countries like the UK and the US and knew the whole process for uni. I always knew that I wanted to do CS at uni and that I loved it very much. I knew that I need good GCSE grades for top universities especially for CS due to competition. I got a spark (a kind of FIRE) in my stomach and just knew I could do well. I grinded day and Night as I knew mock 2 was approaching. For Biology: I knew there was no time to study from my textbook so I watched Cambridge in 5 minutes, z- notes and did tons of past papers. For Physics: I watched freesciencelessons on youtube for deeper understanding and went through my textbook thoroughly, again a lot of past papers. For Chemistry: My textbook and past papers were my only friends For CS,EVM: I did a mix of everything and prepared my pre-release for CS thoroughly. For Math and Add Math: I was already good so I just practiced and practiced and practiced past papers. For Languages: I did past papers and got them reviewed by my teachers. I did around 8 years worth of past papers in each subject. I also reccomend joining r/IGCSE on reddit for updates. I went back to school in December and the teachers were shocked how fast and accurately I was answering even before the toppers of our class. They could not believe it. We then had Christmas holidays right before our mock exam 2. Mock 2 Exam (January) (1 Month before exam): I went to the exams, gave them smoothly and just awaited the results. I got my results back, I got all A*'with FULL MARKS in math, and I topped the grade in my english speaking exam (yes, I got a D in year 10). Everyone from my teachers to parents and classmates were shocked. We then had 15 days before the exam in which I practiced 2 years worth of past papers and revised all the content. Everyone thought exams were going to be cancelled due to rising covid but it was a hoax. My exams went very smooth, I practiced questions and revised content from videos etc etc. In fact I also watched TH-cam entertainment videos during them due to long gaps between exams. Result day came, and my parents and I went to the principal's office and she handed me my result, she announced 'You got all A*s' my knees felt weak and I almost fainted. To think, I knew nothing 6 months before the exam. I never touched my Biology Textbook and still got A* all because of this youtube channel. I would really like to thank you man. You changed my life! Im currently in AS Level doing Physics, Chemistry and Math hoping to go to University College London for a degree in Computer Science.
