I've been doing all my prerequisites for the nursing program here in Los Angeles area and I've been done with them for almost 2 years and I can't get into a program!! Covid really messed everything up with applying to programs and I can't afford to go into a private school which is 100K+. I've been considering the LVN program for a while now, even before the pandemic. So thank you for your advice!

Hi, sorry for the delay in response. I'm not sure what is out there I'm in west Texas, but what I can suggest is try the Community Colleges first, the are cheaper to attend
I went about 9 years ago now. It is a privet school so it is on the pricey side. But overall I had a good experience. Since then I’ve had 3 cousins also graduate from there. I would look into EPCC or your local community college first, I didn’t know that at the time but I wish I would have, only because of the price difference. Unless you get financial aid that covers most of your school then it’s probably not an issue. I believe the TEASE score at the community college to get in is a little higher than at vista (but I’m not 100% sure) definitely look into those two options both of them are great!

As a single mom living with my parents, I need encouragement that I can afford a home for my daughter and I. Here in Texas, to get an apartment you have to earn twice the amount of rent in order to get approved.
Hi, Sorry for the delayed response. Yes, this is my home and I did qualify on my own for this home, however, my husband is the head of house hold. long story short he was getting out of the ARMY and they only considered my income. BUT full disclosure, this home is pretty large and I got it for a fraction of the cost. I have an aunt and a cousin who own homes and are LVN's they are very nice new homes but a bit smaller than mine. SO IT IS POSSIBLE to own a home as an LVN. I hope this helps.
Thank you for watching! I’m not exactly sure what your question is but I’m going to answer as if diploma is RN and certificate is LVN. I hope this helps if not let me know. They are both different the RN is a university/college degree that takes 2 to 4 years (BSN) to complete. (More pay) The LVN is a license still considered higher education you can get at a technical college or community college that takes about 12-15 month. (Less pay) I think it depends on your situation if you are able to and or know without a doubt you want to be a nurse then I would go straight for RN But if you’re in a rush to make good money now or are still unsure LVN/LPN is a great option that sets you to get your RN pretty easily if you would want to continue your education.

My LV. Program was a diploma that was 12 months .... but when I was researching some schools have “prerequisite courses” which makes the total Length of their program about 15 months. I’m now in a transition program that is two semesters long ... about 8 months.

It’s a great option, my cousin is still an LVN and she’s a travel nurse making About 3k A WEEK ! So that’s 12k a month as an LVN ! Good luck !!
