Havent been to big bend since i was literally knee high. I remember Marfa before movies made it a cool destination. Valentine up the road i always thought was more interesting in a mostly gone way. Didnt use to be anything out there after dark except the wind blowing through the truck frame when hauling ass back to EP. Your travel buddy back then was the head lights in the rearview mirror of someone a mile or more behind you. I had deliveries to Alpine for a job we were on out that way sometime around 2000. That was the last time I’d see that area of the country. No cell signal for part of it and AM radio only. But it still beat the route from Casa Grande to Yuma AZ anyday of the week😆. Lol the fake store on side of road. What the hell is wrong with people.
