By far the best Spurs Digest episode I have watched since tuning in a week ago - I like the in-depth analysis of the different players, and hope you will focus more on this. Also would be nice to hear more about the bench players if you have any insights. Also please fix the annoying clickbait titles..
Blake Wesley has taken a major step forward this year and that isn't celebrated enough. He controls and uses his speed for his advantage much more, learned to stop on a dime to finish shots, doesn't lose the ball, is an incredible defensive player, and does it all on a very limited role/minutes. This is what we've been waiting for and I wish we could trade CP3 in the deadline and get Wesley more minutes to develop because my faith in him is stronger now than ever before
i personally think that a cp3 trade at the deadline Is like 90% sure cuz we Need to play players like Wesley, Castle and have to still give minutes to tre Jones when he comes back, but that will happen only if Castle can take a step foward playmaking wise and if players like wesley and Jones become more reliable
Wembys impact hasn’t led to wins yet. There has been some improvement in our overall defense. I’m excited for that but our team offense needs help. Sohan and Tre Jones being hurt is definitely being felt right now.
Sochan could potentially by a DPOY candidate. Yes. He can. Castle is low key a great defender...and Vassell is a long great defender as well. By the all star break they will make up the starting five with Paul.
I think the craziest part about Wemby is how seeing him block 7 times is like "meh" now. Almost expected for him to get close to 10 blocks if teams try him
Wemby is a slow starter for games and the season. That's ok, we need him more on crunch time. Also this would give more opportunity to others than just wemby the whole game.
I also think arguably he doesn't force shots which is very much not a star thing. He is very comfortable passing the ball and letting other guys take shots. I haven't seen him take 30 shots in a game, which he could easily do without anyone saying anything. Most of the shots he takes are good shots for him, if he takes a three its because he's open a lot this year from three, and he gets double teamed so much now he has to pass the ball a ton. I think that is why he has slow starts. I also don't think the Spurs are pulling all the stops right now. There were plays last year that Wemby used to dominate and then Pop stopped using them because he's saving it for important games
New and improved big 3 D of Wesley Castle Soochan plus Wemby. Serious. Wemby looks like Bill Russell and Castle looks like Walt Frazier quick and steals the ball off the dribble pretty easily and never changes his expression.
I am beginning to think that CP3 is slowing our long term development. I would rather he play 20 minutes a game to let the faster pace go most of the game. Wemby is suffering from the lower pace, and Castle and Wesley have been incredible so they should get more minutes

i dont hate that wemby tries to create on the perimeter, he is playing with at least 3 players at all times on the floor that are shooting below 30% from 3... wemby can shoot better so as the star he gon try to make it work by himself, and if he can get the paint open keldon and others can score

A 23 year old and two 20 year olds combining for 70+, all being as talented and fitting each other perfectly? League is cooked as soon as next year
