Follow up comments. 1. Barnes has been tremendous for the Spurs this season and I don’t see him as a big trade piece at the trade deadline. He’s on a value contract much like Champegnie is. 2. The Spurs lack quality shooting. We have a few guys who can get buckets, but we spend a lot of time shooting 3’s and missing creating long rebounds where the other team can get out in transition for easy points. Something that’s never mentioned is that when Chip Englend left, so did consistency in our shooting. OKC sure is shooting well.
Very good point regarding the three point percentage vs coverage.. Trae young regardless of his %, he will be guarded like it’s at 100%… that gravity in itself, is spacing heaven on offense.. 15:52
Great outlook, I don’t see my Spurs making a splash this trade deadline. This was a great listen while I was driving home in this wet SA traffic! Go Spurs Go!!!
Fully agree with your predictions. The Spurs don't need to make trades at this stage. If Wemby is already in the top5 MVP ladder (due to his impact on both ends), he is not ready to be offensively dominant in a playoff series yet (in the back-to-back oppositions this year with the same team [Denver, Memphis, Indiana in Paris], we saw a great first game of Wemby but a not so great second game !!). This is totally normal for a sophomore, even if he is an exceptionnal one. And the young players around are far from being ready too : Castle should become a really great player (already an elite defense) but he has the efficiency of a rookie [less than 40%], Sochan entered his third year but he has the same age than Wemby, Champagnie is currently developping as a very good 3&D but he is young and still very inconsistant (lots of dumb TOs in Q4 this month) and Vassel is performing very badly this season (his new contract seems to be too heavy). The support cast around is very weak (except Barnes and CP3) : the Spurs just gave up on Branham and Wesley (not the NBA level), Zach Collins is terrible, Keldon Johnson has one of the worst efficiency of the NBA, Mamu and Bassey brings lot of energy but the talent is very limited and Sidi Cissoko will be cut this summer (not garanteed). Bringing an another allstar in this roster won't make a contender of the Spurs. I am even not sure that they can be a playoff team. It would bring a playin spot to the Spurs for sure but is it really what the Spurs are seeking ? The Spurs should continue at the trade deadline to be a third/fourth team to facilitate the blockbusters trades (with the finishing [in 2026] contracts of Zach Collins [18,5M$], Malaki Branham [5M$] and Blake Wesley [5M$] and the interesting contract of Keldon Johnson [35M$ on 2 years], they can bring other first round picks at home. They also have tons of 2nd round picks for 2026 that they can trade to other teams). With two or three [if Bulls perform] first round picks this year (in a high quality draft), they could also bring several good rotation players to replace Branham, Wesley, Cissoko,... in the roster in order to significantly improve the second unit. If I would be the general manager of the Spurs, I would also concentrate some efforts at the 2025 free agency to bring several good vets (mainly 3&D players). The Pistons managed to do this at the 2024 free agency and they are performing quite well this year (Beasley, Harris, Hardaway Jr).
The Spurs should offer a contract to Guershon Yabusélé at the 2025 free agency !! We saw with the french national team that he is matching perfectly with Wemby !!!
Been hearing CHI is looking to keep their TOP10 protected '25 pick by having a fire sale making EVERYONE available to trade. If true, I'd hope spurs trade back the bulls '25 pick plus zach collins and other players for pick of the litter of CHI roster. This way Bulls have control of their destiny and may ease trade troubles unloading lavine
Yabusele is free !!! maxime raynaud with the draft late first pick those 2 don t need trades !! and the paint is ok !! Get ride of collins !!! Then depends which pick we get ...of course Cooper but would be too lucky so a forward 3 and D about 6.8 or 6.10 would be awesome
Look at all the Spurs fans ....GO SPURS GO.... & I can't wait to see (I hope/cause no one ever really knows) what this Spurs Organization gonna do before trade deadline. I see Sochan playing the small five in our second unit ...🤔 Experiment... Or Bassey /Collins on the move.... I am a fan of all Spurs players when there hot or cold, I just hope they don't rush anything cause there is an aspect of Chess in Basketball 🏀......make the right moves, decision, and always be a few steps ahead of everyone else.... great video as you can see Spurs fans love your content.... alien in the mask 👽
Spurs don't do mid season trades, unless it's to get rid of someone. Not happening, but it's good food for thought for what they might do in the off-season. I can see a good value for money move, like for Jonas Valanciunas, though, if he comes cheap.
This is not the same Spurs team than in years past. They were a champtionship level team and why would a champtionship level team trade anybody and mess up what they already had while this Spurs team suck. Spurs have never sucked this bad to warrant any trades before the trade deadline. In fact before the 2023 deadline both Dereck White and Poeltl was traded for us to lose more games to tank for Wemby.
@UtilitySports Yes. That's my point. Unless they want to offload someone for being a headcase like Stephen Jackson, or because of rebuilding in a tank year ( poetl, McDermott, Richardson etc), Spurs don't do mid season trades to acquire pieces for the current season. Their biggest acquisitions in the past 20 years have been Lamarcus Aldridge ( free agent) and Richard Jefferson ( off-season trade). Heck, their biggest midseason trade in recent memory was acquiring Stephen Jackson, and he was just a throw in for getting rid of Jefferson.
Needs: Team 3pt shooting, starting PG that can hit threes, backup C. Atlanta picks not looking so terrific...need them to fall off a cliff. Bulls pick not looking too good rn either...maybe next year tho. Gotta make something major happen during this 2025 Draft/FA cycle imho. We rarely do anything very attractive at the Trade Deadline, historically.
Almost everyone is available. I'd build around Victor, Castle, Sochan and keep Champagnie around. I'd like to see how Wesley develops over one more contract. Everybody else is fair game right now for me.
@@gremlinmachineshop that’s true, the games Jalen Johnson misses will be tough for them to win and I think the spurs own pick will be in the lottery anyways
@@UtilitySportsI distinctly heard the moderator state they could target Bulter. He was the second name he mentioned and even has the Heat logo in the possible trade targets. Go back watch and listen, not hard to hear or see. I like Butler, but he is way to volatile for the Spurs no matter how good his. Seriously go back, fairly quickly he mentions this.
Cannot wait for the damned trade deadline to pass so we can stop with all the BS click bait video trade proposals that will never happen b/c the Spurs never have nor ever will do any major in-season trades. All will be done in the offseason AFTER the Spurs know where their 2025 1RP land. Half the roster will be gone by next season's training camp AND, hopefully, former Spurs player and Pop asst coach Monty Williams will be the new coach for the next 10+ years.
@ yeah I haven’t really been sure how all these contracts work. I wasn’t sure if these players have to finish their contracts or the organization can trade at anytime. I think it’s safe to say that this group just doesn’t have chemistry together. That’s probably what’s happening because those guys are good but probably don’t fit the Spurs program and they probably aren’t a good fit for Wemby
Spurs content from someone smart!! 😂 always look forward to these.

Only a mavs fan could manage to talk herb jones to mavs in a spurs video, lol. Great content, though!
The bonus was interesting to look into. But picks are what we need to focus on, a lot of talent in the next 3 drafts.

Atlanta hasn’t been playing well lately and the bulls pick will probably be right in the 8-12 range so it’s a a 50-50 if they get it
@@goodhair420 let's hope ATL loses the play-in at least. They could easily end up in the Top 6 in the East still, also.

How about a K Johnson and Jalen McDaniels trade to Wizards for Malcolm B.
I really doubt Minni looking to get rid of McDaniels especially for Johnson! 🤦🏽♂️🤣😂
@danc7300 bruh not talking about Jaden (plays for wovles) his brother Minnesota had nothing to do with this trade 🤣🤣
@ chittt my bad 😓🤦🏽♂️🤣😂😂 idk what happened to that guy tho I don’t think nobody has picked him up since Spurs waived him
