    What I love about it, is no lifting vacuums and pressure washers and extension cables in/out of the vehicle every time you do a job. Great efficient setup!

    Great setup, I'm getting to the point. Where I need a mobile setup. I currently have a full time job & detail on weekends. Getting to the point, I think when I'm off work. I can go do some detailing at their location instead of my house. I'm just on the fence on buying a pickup or a van. I'm leaning more to a van. It'll have to be a mini van so I can park in my garage. So setup is the key to get organized in a mini van. I was good at playing testris when I was younger so that shouldn't be a problem getting things to fit. I'm doing this for my daughter as she loves to help me detailing & I hope when she gets to age of starting to work. Business will be busy enough for her to run her own show. I've seen a old friend teach his daughter & now at 17yrs old she has her own business. She did very well last summer & is already booked, but school comes 1st then afterwards she at it. She's already wants to get a second vehicle.. to maybe put her dad to work lol.. but long rant.... great setup keep up on grinding out there

    Super nice van bro...what was the purpose of all the dynamat in back?

    • @josholand
      @josholand  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you really I just did it because I love the stuff... the van was just a cargo van so all the panels were flimsy but now it's like a whole new skin all throughout... Sound dampening and rattle/vibration deadening was the purpose and I just really wanted to do it lol I was thinking back to my 20 year old days and car audio I was always into. I figured the dynamat would give it a bit more character as well considering I wanted my van to stand out a bit. Thanks for the comment!

    Great video, I'm currently doing waterless mobile car detailing out of the boot of my sedan, no water, no electricity needed, but i can only charge so much doing that, so I'm trying to transition to regular mobile car detailing, thinking of buying an SUV it'll be enough for my equipment. Small water tank, bigger vacuum, pressure washer, steamer, generator for odd occasions, water hose, product and accessories. I'm not doing paint correction, most I'll do is clay bar for dead bugs etc.

    Great set up. I just wanted to say that you should take individual pictures of your great equipment
    and have them added to the lower sides of your van, pics maybe 1 foot by 1 foot in size and maybe
    add some words about your equipment pics. maybe (Top Quality Equipment for a Top Quality Job)
    Also you need your phone number in large print on each side and on the back of the van. you can
    also make something out of clear plastic that holds flyers and business cards and have them attached
    to the van (Velcro) for people that are just walking by while you are working can get information without
    disturbing you. Make them clear plastic so people can see that you have flyers and business cards inside.
    Another thing always have a business card holder in your wallet with nice business cards never hand out wrinkled
    or dirty business cards. Good luck and I wish you the best.

    If you had a cart with all your interior detailing brushes/towels/cleaners and another with all your exterior detailing stuff (wheel brushes/iron remover/wheel-cleaner/etc), you could simply wheel each around with you as you move around the car. Only lifting one item (cart) in and out for the interior and then one for the exterior Just a thought that would make you even more efficient. Maybe you already do something like that...nice setup though

    I am in France and I would like to prepare a car cleaning truck. I love your configuration. My question is would you have a list of your equipment with installation diagram. There is nothing comparable in France. Thank you in advance

      Thanks for the kind words! I don't have a how to list and diagram on how I built the van.... I had a shop do the pressure washer and water tank install.... everything else was added in time over 3-4 months.... You can just copy it as you like or get creative and make it your own that works for you! Thanks friend!

    So I own my own mobile detailing business and all been looking into buying a new van how good is your fuel economy in the dodge? Also have you find any down side to using the dodge over maybe something else?

    • @josholand
      @josholand  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      well the dodge has a mercedes 2.7 liter 5 cylinder turbo diesel motor.... mercedes transmission and suspension.... it's awesome for fuel economy. When I first bought the van I drove it 430 miles on 1 tank of gas 80mph most the way.... EMPTY cargo area of course. A couple downfalls about the van is it's height... it can't go through the drive thru's and it can't go into most parking structures.... Also it's long so trying to park it where there is no room to park is a problem if that happens... I think a SMALL custom setup would be equally cool to my setup... check out Tony's setup on raldas detailing

    love you bro . just getting into detailing from hobby into new career after 20 years working for the man. So ive got quiet the huge changing expedition before me! quiet scary really! Cuz I have 2 lexus sedans, and a motorcycle. I know I really need a van like yours I love the sprinters. any advise on where to get the water tank, maybe a used one, and an used sprinter to get me on the go working my ass off? Hey best of luck to you too.. It is scary to start off doing mobile detailing full time... for many reasons. I learned a lot in the last 2 years or so and I realized it's a slow steady pace you want to take and not to expect everything good to happen right off the bat. If you live in CA then these water tanks should be all over the place. Farmers use them as well. I got mine from 'boyce industries' in Santa Ana, CA Also as far as the Sprinter van goes.... I searched auto trader, craigslist and ebay for 40 days until I found a good deal.. I wanted one between 2002-2006

      @@bigcroatevo5405 The sprinter van is awesome! Powerful, drives as if it's a smaller vehicle, gas efficient... Oil changes are twice as much as a car due to it taking 9.5 quarts of oil. Maintenance doesn't seem to be too crazy

    Doesn’t the spray products damage in heat?? I once left wax and polish in a trunk for a week in 100 degree weather. That crap spoiled quick

    • @josholand

      I only had 1 product in the back get damaged by the sun/heat.... that was meguiars hyper dressing.... started growing mold. I don't store that in the back anymore. Also all my polishes / waxes I keep up front now. the only thing I keep in the back is degreaser, apc, soap, window cleaner... those products do fine in the back where I am located.

    How do you approach pricing for your detail jobs, and how much time do you tell them up front?

    • @josholand
      @josholand  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I take pricing and make it personal for myself really. I know exactly what job is what and aprox. how long I spend on each job so I price accordingly. For example.... for a full interior and exterior 'detail' I charge around $300 for a sedan and spend 5-6 hours on it. IF someone else is out there who does it for $200.... I will give the customer an option to go to the cheaper place... or pay my price. This is physical labor and I believe each of us detailers is empowered to suggest ANY price we want knowing what that potential job is going to make us feel like. (but superduper details could do it for $180....) they say... WELL then you will have to go to Superduper details... I invested a pretty penny on my business and equipment so if someone wants CHEAP.... They have to go elsewhere. lol this turn into a rant or did this help out? Ask more if I didn't answer what you were looking for. :b

    • @3toedSloth75
      @3toedSloth75 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@josholand it does, yes. And I think competing on price is generally a bad idea for this kind of thing.
      Doesn't compounding take a lot longer? I would think a different price and time est. for corrections
