so why not use a "panel adhesive" instead of the HD bondo ? its kinda made for that ?

I like the way you did that I'm a Auto Body guy, and that's exactly the way I would do it. Where did you get your fender flares? I'm trying to find some extra wide ones for a 85 Ford van.
