Went to a bar the other day and asked for a daiquiri and she told me she’s never heard of anything other than a strawberry daiquiri, I won’t be heading back there lol
By far the best ginger beer I’ve found is Topo Chico as a newer release from Coke stateside.
Wow, so much knowledge condensed into one video! Thank you Steve!
Glad it was helpful!
Already loving it from the first seconds
Completely agree with the comments on lime juice. I’ve started using Bristol Syrup lime and lemon juices, great quality.
Thanks Steve, your enthusiasm and knowledge is a joy. Great fun and very informative. Thanks mate!
🍓 thanks again for the knowledge. I've now turned into an absolute Rum Geek.
I recently supplied the cocktails for my sons Tiki Rum Bar at his wedding, using your recipe's as inspiration.
We supplied well over 200 servings of Hurricane's, Mai Tai's and Rum-star Martini's and they were an absolute smash hit..
Well played 👏👏
As long as the video was it was very informative.
🍓🍓🍓great fun Steve, thanks again for keeping it so real. 😊
Loving Worthy 109 in my rum and cokes these days. My taste buds have changed so much.
I love the flavor of Great Value (Walmart) Lime Juice when I make my Daiquiri. I go with 2 1/2 OZ Doorly's 3yr White Rum, 1 OZ Great Value (Walmart) Lime Juice, and 3/4 OZ Simple Syrup. I shake it with six ice and dumb the entire contents onto my glass. Very delicious :)
🍓 Not a flavor but if you swap out the white rum for an aged, add mint and sparkling wine it becomes and old Cuban and it is so good.
cant wait for the upgraded book! 🍓
So glad I started this one 🍓
🍓 I just made a Honey Daiquiri the other night. I'll be making that one again. Cheers
I really need to try a mojito using your method 🍓
🍓 Great video!
Thanks Tim
🍓 Great video steve, im gonna have a night with a friend introducing them to rum and I'm gonna use this video and E-book to guide them.
Thanks my friend! Enjoy the rum night.

🍓 Thank you for the videos! Looking forward to making some cocktails for my wife and myself. What do you suggest for aquiring crushed ice at home?
Buy an Ice Crusher. I have a manual one... but it's a bit better than a standard cheap one. But I am crushing about 20kg a week. If you just make a few cocktails a cheapo Ice Crusher will do the job
You talked about using the Daiquiri ratio and trying different Liqueur variations ( okay, you said Syrup) and that you would still end up with a good Daiquiri. Well, I took that as a challenge and using the same ratio of 5 (Plantation 3 star) : 2 (Lime juice) : 2 (Liqueur) : 1 Sugar syrup) ratio decided see if I could make a bad Daiquiri. Alas, I failed, the worst was still a pass. We tried 8 different liqueurs. Our Ratings: #1 Giffard Café, # 2 Giffard Pamplemouse, #3 Luxardo Limoncello, #4 Giffard Creme de Banana, #5 Ancho Reyes, #6 a locally made MintCello, #7 Clement Creole Shrub, #8 Soho Lychee. Surprises; how well the Cafe, Grapefruit and MintCello fared. Disappointments; how the Clement did. Thanks for such a great video.
LOVE this. Coffee always surpirses me. Ever since I put with Pineapple...and it worked. Confused me, but I'm herte for it. Grapefruit, Limoncello and Banana are great shouts though.
i can't find a carribian fruit-tasting sipping rum. Tryed appleton 8, don't like the slight funk, tried plantation barbados 5 year, too much cinnimon, tried flor de cana 12, too much bourbon taste....any white rums with a rich coconut, orange, pineapple etc taste? thank-you,(love the channel!

I prefer fresh like as far as I know but I do measure it. I got some bottle stuff and didn’t like it. I’m sure the brand plays into that though.
On thew domestic Market, Bottled Citrus is not 100%. You have to look for the proper Bar stuff. the 100% stuff. In which case... it'll taste no different to Fresh Lime, thats been juiced and left for a couple of hours. (Obvs who'll get variances cos a Lime from Italy, will taste different to a Lime in Mexico!)
You made the mai tai wrong…. 😂. (Strawberry emoji). Great video!!
😂😂 👏👏
Bounty rum .. st Lucia
More ice does not mean less dilution. Most of the "chilling" effect comes from melting.
Simple Science... More Ice does + Less Dilution. yes when you're stiring Cocktails and shaking Cocktails, a little bit of Dilution does bring the temperature down. But of course... the more Ice you shake with and the more ice you stir with brings the temp down...with less Diltuion. Simply shake with 3 cubes, then shake with 8-10 cubes. See the difference. HOWEVER... if you watched the video, It's not shaking or stirring I'm refering to...its the actual serve. Its the rewason the great big Gin Balloons were invented. Science. The more ice in the glass, the colder it stays for longer (cos the ice takes longer to melt!) therefoire the less dilution.
Where is best place to get the dragon fruit syrup?
At the moment, it's pretty hard. Its a new product. But Nisbets seem to stock it at the moment.
Curious how a Doorly's 12 taste as a Dark & Stormy? or other good mixed drinks, because I bought Doorly's 12 on sale, but don't care for it too much as neat, as I prefer Zacapa 23 and Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva as neat.
Try it and let us know! I mean, i wouldn't buy it for Cocktails. BUT...I'm like you, I have it and I don't really like it neat!
@@StevetheBarmanUK My taste buds have evolved over the past six months. I can't drink it neat so I tried on the rocks which is better. But I went ahead and used 2 1/2 oz of Doorly's 12 year, 5ozx Fever-Tree Ginger Beer, 1/2 oz Lime Juice, and a few dashes of Angostura Bitters. It's not bad at all :) hic

Or-zhaat or Or-zhaa.
OK. Found someone else who uses apricot liquor instead of curacao in Mai Tais.
Deffo! It tastes superb
All of Europe uses cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup, just like Mexico. The US is the odd man out.
Monin and real are 75% sugar and even the other 25% is not all coconut (ie condensed milk etc). Coco Lopez is made from 50% sugar and 50% coconut.
There is more than twice as much coconut in Coco Lopez compared to the more expensive lower quality products
Nope you’re totally wrong. Monin Le Fruit and ODK are 50% Coconut. 50% Sugar. They are not syrups. This is where people get confused. There is a lower amount of actual real Coconut in the Coco Lopez than either of those 2 brands. Soz…but I’ll argue all day about that, cos not only is it written on the back of the bottles, I also have the legal data sheets for both brands.
And actually to get super technical. Monin is 50.1% Coconut. To 49.9% sugar. 😉
