4K CABVIEW Ljubljana Zalog Marshalling Yard - Koper tovorna -- Freight train ride through Slovenia

  • Freight train locomotive cabride from Ljubljana Marshalling Yard (Ljubljana Zalog) to Koper tovorna (Port of Koper) was created along the most important railway lines in Slovenia, railway line Ljubljana - Sežana (Italy) and Divača - Koper. These two railway lines are very busy with a huge number of various freight trains. Trains that use this route mainly transit from Central and East Europe to the Adriatic Sea and back. This cab ride video created from Siemens Euro Sprinter SŽ 541-002 locomotive which was pulling 1215t weight and 520m long freight train from Ljubljana to Koper. Detailed train and route informations are shown in the video. These informations include current location, maximum allowed train speed, limit speed, slow order speed, track elevation and other relevant informations.
    At the beginning of the video, the train departs from the shunting station in Ljubljana and passes along a group of tracks for shunting trains and wagons, then connecting to the Ljubljana - Zidani Most railway line. Accelerating slowly to its maximum permitted speed of 100km/h, it quickly passes the industrial railway section and the main Slovenian train depot Ljubljana Moste. Then it passes through the main railway station in Ljubljana, which is also the most important railway junction of rail routes in Slovenia. From Divača, it switches to a single-track line and a little later begins a sudden and very steep descent (up to 25‰) towards the Adriatic Sea. In the video, after Divača station, it is possible to see the construction of the second track from Divača to the Port of Koper (Projekt drugi tir).
    There were various events along the way, and perhaps the most interesting parts are the fallen trees on the tracks and loss of voltage in the track overhead line. Also, there was a lot of unusual waiting for opposit trains, which is not common on a double-track lines. All this is a consequence of the big storm that hit Slovenia and that part of Europe a few days before the video was recorded.
    The video contains preview part, which shows some interesting scenes during the train journey, but the complete content of all the railway events along the way is contained in a 3-hour long 4k (Ultra hd) video.

    Wow, tremendous amount of rail construction has happened since the last time I was in Slovenia on business in 2018, new rail beds and railyards along with new and upgraded passenger platforms is exciting to see. I'm sure the ride is much smoother and quicker plus the locomotives will be much more able to reach their full potential in pulling power now, nice to see the big improvements happening right now in Slovenia !!!

    Fajny film. Kilka lat temu jechałem odcinkiem Ljubljana - Divaca. Nie spodziewałem się jednak, że tak atrakcyjny widokowo jest odcinek Divaca - Koper. Wstępnie planuję tam wybrać się w listopadzie.

    🚅 nice video dulevoz but when are you coming for a cab ride in Italy? at least you visit our railway lines in Italy just like your rival rail relaxation.

      Thank you. Maybe there will be one day. I don't use a GoPro camera with which it is easier to do recordings with the ability to mount the equipment from outside on the train. I do this by filming from the driver's cab, with original interior sounds, which requires different planning and effort both before and during recording :)

      Probably, this happened due to the work on the overhead lines and the repair of the damage, which was caused by a strong storm and damage to the network a few days before this recording.

      In Slovenia we use 3000V DC supply system. The voltage is very low ( in Serbia 25 kV AC, Austria 15kV AC 16 2/3 Hz) and it means very high locomotive current. If you look carefully, you will always see two parallel supply wires due to this fact. If you have two or three heavy trains driving uphill one after another ( section Borovnica - Postojna ), high currents of the loaded locomotives will cause low supply voltage.

      EMU units from Pafawag called Gomulka are not in use any more. They were replaced by Siemens and Stadler EMUs. Gomulka trains served very well for 50 years and were very popular in Slovenia.

      Nije mi poznato zbog čega se to dešava. Moguće da je problem u "jačem" bitrejtu, u kojem pripremam video za slanje na jutjub. Da li Vam se to događa i kod starijih video snimaka od pre 5 ili 6 godina na mom kanalu?
