I would like to see a video, on occasion, on this series with people who are not rich, but are doing "OKAY" and want advice on doing better. Maybe low-income but not in dire straits anymore. Think of these people as those who were on your show and actually followed the plan you laid out for them. Now they are still making the same income, but they want to know the next steps after digging out of debt. I know these people you invite on your show need more help by comparison, and I hope they continue to be your primary focus, but even Michael Bay movies have moments of laughter and sadness sprinkled in around all the drama and explosions.
I’ll take it a step further, spending $10K on tattoos while you have a kid - even if you pay cash and don’t use debt - is probably irresponsible (unless you’re earning way above the median which she is not)
Financed everything, 10s of thousands of stupid tattoos, mental health issues and an unplanned baby with a known deadbeat dad and she's 23. She's gonna be a real treat for the next man she ensnares
Took all of 10 mins to change from "he knocked me up and ditched us" to "i already knew he had kids when i had his and even though we broke up he still takes care of the kid" utterly comical
It was also a lil weird Caleb kept pushing about child support when they split the kid 50/50. Maybe he just wanted her to say it, but when you share custody equally there should be no CS.
It sounds like the bf was a super at the apt complex, which offered an apt on the premises once he was no longer needed at the job he had to leave. I'm not a detective or a genius 😂 but it sounds like the bf knew the end was coming and found a woman with her own place to move into . She's not placing him on child support bcuz I think she want to be with him still the fact that she replied with he's not with me when Caleb wasn't referring to the relationship with her it was his role as a father speaks volumes to me . She not only need financial help she need help accepting that break up as well
@@Username0467maybe, from what he has said the idea is scary to him. I have seen guys like this, when their situation changes they flip so hard to being the most lovely and committed fathers. It's not so much that they never want kids, just they understand what it takes to have one.
I drove a Corolla and the kids' carseats took up the entire back. I didn't use a stroller and babywore because I needed the trunk for groceries and stuff. A stroller will take up an entire trunk. When I couldn't babywear any longer, we switched to a small umbrella stroller. None of that was fancy or especially convenient, but I haven't had a car payment in 20 years. She could have made do with one baby in a small car. She didn't want to. Also, as a first time mother, she probably bought on to the idea she needed more stuff than she had to have or could afford. Not everyone can breastfeed, but between ebf, cloth diapers, baby wearing, a convertible car seat, and led weaning, we spent next to nothing past the hospital copay type stuff for our second child.
I fit a car seat in a Dodge Neon just fine. Car seats are annoying and they honestly don’t fit well in cars. But the idea that you have to run out and buy an unaffordable car is insane. Use your problem solving skills, people!
@@heidiortiz9352Is it a 2-door? Also a Neon is quite a bit bigger than a Fiat 500. We had a 2008 Altima coupe and it was impossible to get a rear facing baby seat in the back.
Even if they have a genuine mental health issue or learning difficulty, kids need to learn to behave appropriately and practice patience. The world isn't ad free.
WHY do so many people say "whenever" when they should say "when"?!? It isnt "whenever he left me" "whenever I bought this car" etc. It's so common today.
How does he even know what an ad is😂 I guess they’re like “wtf pepa pig turned off, put it back on mother! Or I will double my poopy diaper output for the next month”
I make $60k plus in California, but I bought a condo in 2019 and I can live comfortably right now. But if I had a kid, I wouldn't even think about tattoos if that was taking money from my kids future, college , doctors appointments, day care, etc etc.
@justablackdude5423 if I had a dollar for every time I heard a joke like that or someone snickering over either of those numbers, I would never have to work again. Those jokes just aren’t funny anymore
I’m calling bs on that specific comment. I had a 2013 fiat 500 and we put 2 kids in grayco higher end car seats in the back and we got groceries at sams. 2 adults, 2 kids in the back and week of groceries in the hatch. Was it comfy, no. Was it doable while getting 38 mpg and $35 a month in insurance on a $1500 car? Yes absolutely.
I have a secondary investment account w Schwab. Only like 12k in there but several times a week I transfer some money into it and just buy something pegged to the S&P or a target retirement fund. Imna do it right now. Brb
But then judge and local government don’t get a cut of that money. Child support file person pays years $ to Keith going (where does that go?) and gov gets a % of the child support check 😂
@@ElinWinbladat least in Illinois the local government doesn't have a say in the amount of child support it's entirely an equation of time spent with the child and both parents income. If it's 50/50 then there is no child support ordered here.
Not in texas btw. Even “50/50” there is still a designated primary care person and the non custodial pays 20% for one kid (5% each additional) BUUUUTT, daycare costs are not split, the primary pays it fully. Texas courts will award 20%, ncp pays health ins, and parents split medical expenses regardless of custody split. Her ex paying half of daycare is probably fair enough, but after my own experience with courts and lack of enforcement… id want official orders. But my ex isnt a reasonable adult with best interest of child on his mind

Thank you Caleb and keep making the videos, I work for a coop and run a giant sprayer or floater, basically a tall tractor with the thin wheels that seems like you could almost drive under, I listen to your videos! Thank you so much for what you do! The community and I really appreciate you and your teams hard work!
And all the artist at the shop having the inside joke that they will all tattoo her. Yeah, I get the feeling the joke they are laughing at and the joke she is laughing at are different jokes.
I paid $400 and it was a huge deal for me. I put away money for months and heavily researched reputable artists. I will never understand people who impulsively get tattoos
Let me get this straight. The guy is in his twenties and already had two kids. She knew this and still slept with the guy without any protection at all. Then blows significant portions of her income of wants such as tattoos? She has a real big problem with being able to make responsible decisions and can't take the accountability for her own terrible choices instead blaming her ex.
I had a friend who got with a female that already had 5 kids by...24 yrs old. 5 different fathers...hes the 6th..now years later I think she's at 8 or 9 kids ...no custody of any of them...😂 ppl are crazy!
That summarizes most western women these days. They've been brainwashed into believing they're all powerless victims of "The Patriarchy". But in actuality, the western world is far more of a Matriarchy, really.
Honestly I used to just think these types of chicks are braindead... then i meet the parents... especially fathers. If they're gone it's usually not a good outcome in the adult life of any kid male or female, but I've seen girls or women rather being treated like kids by their fathers and then wow, what a surprise, your 20yo daughter acts like a child when living alone after 20 years of you treating her like a child (not that moms are much better but usually they're the ones to be the soft loving forgiving parents, whilst with a father who's even more lovey dovey... yeah). Its very fascinating how these things that seem so harmless like daddy spoiling his little princess basically can completely destroy their lives as adults. And the worst part is, there's no growth being done as they blame everyone else but themselves... just like kids do. The older I get the more I see this.
As someone with a half sleeve and a husband with full, detailed sleeves, holy crap those tattoo artists LOVE ripping her off. She is their favorite, stupid customer to take advantage of. $1500 for some flowers is insanity.
My brother paid like 4-5k for a guitar and rose half sleeve. I literally laughed at him as my Bob Ross half sock cost 1k. Some people are walking dollar signs to tattoo artists…
She sounds like she went through it this year. Her kid is a year old and her bf broke up with her a year ago. She was admitted to the hospital for what sounds like a suicide attempt. The tattoos sound like her trying to buy things to make herself happy. But now she sounds like she's understanding she effed up.
And she says "the child that I have"! Such disconnected and distancing language. I've heard a couple other parents on this show use similar wording and it always makes me cringe.
I honestly think she just got depressed by the whole baby daddy situation and gave up for a bit then realized how bad it is. She seemed like she really wanted to sort things out and get straight. I loved her honestly and wish her the best. She’s got this! ❤️
It could have been worse! Out drinking, getting with guys and spend it that way. She got tattoos instead. NOT SMART EITHER WAY. Could have been worse. With a very young child.
@@texaschica6056 do you watch this show often? the whole “it could be worse” thing doesnt make her situation much better. or for anyone else. more of a deflection than taking accountability
No, depends on income. On a tangent, leaving your 2 month old is crazy behavior. There’s no “50/50” with a newborn, the mom pretty much has to be around at all times for development purposes.
@@yurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-n4p my best friend has 50/50 and still pays $2200 a month in child support. The kids mom refuses to get a job because of this.
Yeah, seems like most women end up doing this and since “we must believe all women” men are automatically guilty until proven innocent. Women are innocent until proven guilty.
@@janegarnham yea - OR - she might just be a 23 yr old single mom who got abandoned, and immediately had to start paying an additional $1500 a month on top of being dumped and becoming a single mother - all at once - and is just trying to cope after getting blindsided by someone she thought she could rely on. There's nothing here to indicate there's "something wrong with her".
@@kctyphoon Maybe don’t have a kid with someone you’re not married too? Or someone with other baby mamas? And she’s wasn’t abandoned you liar, they broke up and he’s still taking 50% responsibility for the kid. The guy has no obligation to stay with her anymore than she had to stay with him. Stop being a clown and accept accountability for your actions.
It’s annoying me so much how she refers to her child as “the child” and “the kid” almost every single time. It’s like she’s dissociating herself from her own child.
I had postpartum depression and I called my daughter "the child" a lot when she was first born. I was in the situation where her dad abandoned us in a really vile way though, no support or acknowledgement of my daughter from any of his family or himself. I think she has come up with the scenario in her head so she can cope with her bad choices. I can sympathise, but I agree she needs to grow up or give up the child.
Ya it's really bothering me, came to the comments looking for this. Why doesn't she say "MY"? Why is she trying so hard to distance herself from her own kid? Everything she says, she's so selfish and self centered. No worries about "THE child" only worries about herself. I watch a lot of body cam and interrogation videos so every time she says THE instead of MY alarm bells go off
kid will have some form of behavioural issue if she raises “the kid” with these unregulated undwarrented emotions… she is blaming the child for part of her problems because she NEEDS to mature because of the child and she is to selfish for it

This is the 2nd guest this past week that said they do subscriptions for a 1 year old. Two things 1) one year olds shouldn’t be watching that much tv anyway. By the time an ad comes up they’ve probably reached the screen time limit. Please do something else with your kids 2) they shouldn’t throw a tantrum from media consumption. This could be a result of them already getting addicted from too much screen time. But a true 12 month baby doesn’t usually have the attention span to watch ms Rachel for hours on end. And they don’t understand the differential between an ad and content. It just doesn’t mean THAT much to them These are just using this “my one year old can’t have ads” as an excuse to justify frivolous spending.
"My kid would flip shit if he had to watch an ad" wow that is one of the worst parental statments ive heard in a long time. This kid is going to be a spoiled brat if she doesnt change that mentality.
@@joycef8443 there are perfectly fine educational things that could be watched by a child that young and you can't expect someone with a job to be actively doing things with their child all day cause they would never get any work done.
If he’s earning more, they’ll get him. Which makes sense because in a 2 parent household, he’d be paying in more. So if one makes $3000 a month and the other $4000, the higher earner owes $200.
What "expenses" are being spit exactly? Health Insurance Food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) Clothes Medications School supplies If he's only paying for things here and there, the cost of a child is not being split equally. #goodness
I'm only a couple minutes in and I hate that she is already being manipulative. The man is very involved with the child and she made it seem like he isn't pulling his weight.
@@MPPG663 why are you making assumptions that go against her own words? She says they split time 50/50. Go project elsewhere or pay closer attention if you want to grandstand
I don't understand some people. If you don't want kids, use birth control. You're a consenting adult, force the issue. If neither party is willing to do the right thing, don't do the deed.
I have a one year old and had to FORCE myself to buy a new bra last week because I didn't want to spend $20, even though I can easily afford it....10k on tattoos when you can't support yourself is insane.
Teaching kids how to deal with turning off the TV/iPad/Phone etc is ESSENTIAL parenting. If you kid flips shit when you turn off/pause the TV, that's a parenting issue not a finance one. There are plenty of videos/youtubes/tiktoks online explaining how to do it, but basically 1) Get their attention, 2) Get them to engage (whats Ms Rachael talking about now?) 3) Get them to say 'bye bye' and/or 'see you later' so it seems like THEY came up with the idea, 4) Turn it off. You just have to redirect them.
Someone who has their kid 50% of the time and then that time is reduced by full time daycare, then take away 11-13 hours of nighttime sleep. There is no time for TH-cam if you eat dinner with them, read them a book, bathe them, absolute bare minimum parenting stuff.
A really great tip I’ve learned about any sort of transition time, like turning off the tv, leaving the park, etc is to ask “do you want to leave/turn off/take a shower/brush your teeth now, or in 5/10/15 minutes?” For whatever reason giving a choice instead of a warning really results in a better rate or compliance and fewer tantrums I’ve found.
She seems really gullible. Having a child with a guy that has multiple kids already, getting a car she couldn’t afford because the dealership gave her two choices, and spending a lot on tattoos because the employees made a little game out of her getting a tattoo from each artist. I’m hoping she takes this wake up call and starts to question all those around her. She’s been taken advantage of and she’s going to be paying for it, literally. Wishing her the best!
I love how anytime a women is on its “she’s just gullible and was taken advantage of” and when it’s men it’s he was an idiot. I swear yall let women escape with zero accountability

I actually don't think it's about being gullible. The coffee, going essentially every day? It's a status thing. The tattoos? Attention. The guy and kid? I bet you she felt powerful if he "stole" this guy from someone lol. It's all attention imo. She would rather have the money + attention she is getting from these silly situations

Caleb is confusing Alimony and child support, normally if it's 50/50 unless one spouse makes $30k more than the other there won't be any child support. Courts in many states are moving away from the weekend dad and ordering 50/50.

No one needs a tattoo and you cannot complain about money problems when you choose to get a tattoo before getting everything else taken care of. Also, I'm not saying she's not a single mom and that the father of her child isn't a moron but 50/50 custody makes a WORLD of difference as a single mother. @AmbuBadger She has plenty of redeeming qualities. Tattoos are never a turn off for me as long as they’re tasteful. At least she’s honest and has a cute face. I also have a baby mama that got a bunch of tattoos and wants more I don’t pay a penny more than I have to but it’s obviously probably being spent on that
In the budget, there was a mistake. She doesn't get an extra $450 from her baby daddy. The baby daddy pays $450 for his part of childcare. So it's not extra income, and that means she's spending more than she makes every month and doesn't have anything left over.
3 months ago i had a credit card with just about 9k at 24% interest. Its paid off. Thank you. Wasted alot of money on toquitos and stupidity in my 20's
I think a lot of people on the show are used to calling their child by their name, but to stay anonymous they switch to saying "the kid." I know they could at least say "my son/daughter," but they're probably not used to avoiding saying their child's name.
@Becanwal Nope. This moronic nitwit who cares more about her tattoos says "The Kid" because she's detached and doing the bare minimum and doesn't care much.
Her actions prove she doesn't care about the child. She really doesn't take any responsibility and the laughing about him not pulling out shows it. I hear her now, “Dump in me Daddy” She decided to have a child with the guy. It's all on her for me.
Idk if it's the editing or if Caleb is just losing it. He asked her how much she gets from her ex so she started listing what he pays for Caleb cuts her off asks specifically in childcare what he pays so she gave an answer. Later she makes a comment about the ex paying for financed items and Caleb loses it saying she keeps changing her answers and had said that the ex ONLY pays for childcare. Ive noticed it in a lot of episodes where he just starts yelling at them acting like they are lying or hiding things when he wont ever let them finish answering or he forces them to answer one question and gets mad when if he would have let them finish he would have the answer.

He didn’t abandon the child, but he did abandon her. It’s heartbreaking and super dejecting as a new mom. Been there. The cheating-to-leaving feels especially awful. But he’s present as a parent, and pulling his weight there. I get why she frames it that way, but it’s misleading and deflects personal responsibility to move forward. Getting a new 21000 dollar car instead of a 300 dollar carseat for the kid is absolutely wild

I love tattooes but I don't get people who don't understand that tattooes are luxuries like all other forms of art. No one needs a tattoo and you cannot complain about money problems when you choose to get a tattoo before getting everything else taken care of.
Also, I'm not saying she's not a single mom and that the father of her child isn't a moron but 50/50 custody makes a WORLD of difference as a single mother. She has a good income at 23 and the father contributes, she has no excuses to have money problems.
To be fair, the tattoos are a good warning for the next guy to stay away.

In the budget, there was a mistake. She doesn't get an extra $450 from her baby daddy. The baby daddy pays $450 for his part of childcare. So it's not extra income, and that means she's spending more than she makes every month and doesn't have anything left over.

It is. This why you should marry before you carry.
