Oh yes, when I finished the edit, I realized I should have shaped the story much more about JP :) I wish we had realized whilst playing with him and asked him if he wanted to take part in the video

I did! I have so much fun :D the matchups didn't end up being great for our sneaky bois but the deck felt strong and flavourful! I'd definitely play this again :) especially with how great your pitch was! So convincing!

I was certainly intrigued. Someone at my lgs has a zubera commander deck using Tiamat as the commander along with maskwood nexus to search for the zuberas.
I played 5-Color-Zubera-Storm in Pauper and it still wears the crown of being the jankiest deck I ever put together
I had a Zubera Commander deck, it was a lot of fun to play and could have some crazy turns. You get to include extra Zuberas (changelings and clones) and ways to sacrifice, and recur them. Mikeaus the Unhallowed was great in that deck. You do get wrecked by things like Rest in Peace.
The nice part is that it doesn't fizzle much once you start the storm.
I love how it's clear that Filipa is 1000% into the shark tank/dragon den roleplay

Yeah i am wondering the same thing, she said that the tokens could be sacrificed when she created them so maybe it really was just a mistake? Not having the right tokens ready seems weird
I was going to say the same. The goblin player seems like a cool enough guy that even if this was a mistake he’ll be cool about it
Yeah she must have thought of them like eldrazi spawn. It’s not like they are a token people play with a ton so I could see the mistake. Unless there was some permanent off screen that she cast when the camera was not on the game that we missed.
Yeah that’s weird, I believe the pest tokens read “when this creature dies, you gain 1 life”. Wonder if it was a misplay or she had a sac outlet there.

Im so confused, how does Filipa sacrifice her pest tokens to kill JP? As far as I can see she just has a Vito and 6 pest tokens, no sac outlet. And they don't sacrifice themselves I don't think. So im a little lost as to how that was lethal damage, unless the opp just scooped instead of her actually having lethal. But in the voiceover, she says she can sacrifice her tokens to gain life and kill him... any explanation?
i would also like to know about that move. was looking for others in the comments who noticed.
@@Lolo90419She probably thought the pest could sac themselves, pests don't come up that much and she was using the wrong tokens bit of a missplayed from looking at it. Also the deck list there isn't any sac outlets

That prison deck looks fun! Perhaps it can adapted to deal better with the like of rinho deck. Still, the way it works sounds fun.

At 18:35 the guy had a mountain and the goblin which sacs for red he couldn’t have played that Uruk
Filipa had an Urborg in play which makes all lands swamps. That's also how he tapped the fetchland for mana.
The mono-white deck Thoraf has is HILARIOUS. Admittedly, I'd prefer not to be sat opposite it.

At 33:38, Filipa could have actually won the round by sacrificing the Dreadnought to Momentous Fall, since it gains life equal to toughness, so gaining 11 would knock out Basti at 10. Assuming that they used Boseiju before blockers rather than in response to the crew.

Another thing that pops up to my mind, you should do an all streamer tournament deck with you three, frank, andrea etc ... all played with viewer submitted decks. The deck that wins the tournament gets send to its creator.
It would be fun because we could see an "all star tournament" kind of thing.

Shame that the guy showing off dubious challenge didn’t really sell it well at all, that deck is actually sweet! Using things like charming prince and trotstani discordant to make sure you get both monsters so it’s a 4 mana 2 creature power house
This was awesome would love to see more videos like this one! Although it does seem to show why I think modern fnm seems to be dead at alot of lgs's. There's a few people that can afford "real" modern decks and then people like JP and you guys that are bringing sweet homered decks but they just can't compete and people eventually get tired of it and move to the best format EDH.

The dubious challenge deck actually seems kind of interesting. I mean technically you could probably build it in such a way to make it more consistent even if it's just a gimmick.

If I’m not mistaken @mtgfilipa could have still killed with veto because protection only stops D.E.B.T. Damage ( not loss of life), being enchanted by the source, blocking by the source, or being targeted by the source. And Vito neither targets nor does damage. If I’m wrong please someone tell me

33:42 Wasn't this lethal if Filipa sacrifices the vehicle instead of The Ancient One (in response to the opponent dealing 3 damage to Vito, or just even on her own turn)? Even if the opponent has protection, Vito gets around protection.
