    Fun fact:
There’s actually a lore reason why Kaiba made this card, besides ego.
By this time in the series Kaiba is researching how to make custom duel spirits using forces around earth to use as reusable energy source. Kaibaman was a successful experiment, made after the Neo Spacians proof of concept.

Kaibaman tells Jaiden that he shouldn’t be scared of losing, something Seto Kaiba had to learn and accept after not being able to beat Yugi/Atem no matter how many times he tried. Atk: 1400

Once per turn, you can play 1 Field Spell that mentions "Elemental HERO" from your Deck, but it is destroyed during the End Phase.
Leans into the fleeting nature of sand and dead earth, and creates a nice combo by sending Necroshade, summoning Bladedge off its effect, and getting Skyscraper without leaving the "anime inefficiency" area of play.

I can only think of a few ideas for the elemental hero fusions:
Bubbleman and Necroman = Poisonman, its effect can create one token in defense mode for each monster it defeats in battle once per turn.
Bladedge and Necroman = Elemental Paladin Darkedge, if there are no other monsters in the user’s field then it gains 500 attack/defense points. If this monster is destroyed in battle, it can banish itself to bring the fusion materials into defense position or special summon one lv 4 or lower monster in defense mode from your hand.
Clayman and Bladedge = Elemental Hero Stonedge, all I can think of is having it draw in all incoming attacks if it’s in defense mode and deal damage equal to the difference between the monster’s defense points and the attacker’s attack points.

Ideas for the hypothetical Elemental Hero fusion monsters (intended for only the anime):
Bubbleman + Bladedge= Elemental HERO Turbine: LV8 Earth Warrior. ATK/2600 DEF/2300. Effect: Once per turn, you can discard 1 Elemental HERO card, then draw 2 cards.
Bubbleman + Necroshade= Elemental HERO Brushoink: LV6 Dark Warrior. ATK/1900 DEF/1800. Effect: During your Main Phase: You can tribute this card, then target 2 monsters; banish them.
Clayman + Bladedge= Elemental HERO Minervo: LV6 Earth Warrior. ATK/2600 DEF/2300. Effect: If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage. This card cannot be destoryed by battle.
Bladedge + Necroshade= Elemental HERO Darkiron: LV8 Dark Warrior. ATK/2600 DEF/2300. Effect: When this card is Special Summoned: Target 1 monster your opponent controls; destroy that target, then inflict damage equal to that monster's original DEF in the GY.
Necroshade + Clayman= Elemental HERO Obsidian: LV6 Dark Warrior. ATK/1700 DEF/2600. Effect: Once per turn: You can discard 1 card, then target 1 monster on the field with original DEF less than the DEF of this card; destroy that target.

    E-Hero Fusions:
Bubbleman and Bladedge = Elemental Hero Wavecutter - Water Att, Warrior Type, ATK: 2600 / DEF: 2100. Effect: This monster can only be Special Summoned once per turn. When this card is Fusion Summoned, return a number of cards your opponent controls to the bottom of the owner's deck in a random order, equal to the number of "Hero" monsters you control. When this card is Special Summoned from anywhere besides the Extra Deck, draw until you have the same number of cards in your hand as your opponent.
Bubbleman and Necroshade = Elemental Hero Shadowstorm - Dark Att, Warrior Type, ATK: 2200 / DEF: 2000. Effect: This card cannot be used for Material for a Special Summon on the same turn it was Summoned from the Extra Deck. No cards can be activated in response to this monster's Summon or the activation of its effects. Once per turn, and only once that turn, you may discard up to 2 cards in order to send that many cards to their owner's GY. For each card you own that goes to the GY, draw 1 card. For each card your opponent controls that goes to the GY, discard one card from their hand at random.
Clayman and Bladedge = Elemental Hero Earthshatter - Earth Att, Warrior Type, ATK: 2600 / DEF: 2900. Effect: Whenever this monster attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing damage. When this monster is Summoned, all monsters your opponent controls are changed to Defense Position and cannot change their positions while EH Earthshatter is on the field. Monsters your opponents control cannot attack other monsters you control.
Bladedge and Necroshade = Elemental Hero Darkstalker - Dark Att, Warrior Type, ATK: 2600 / DEF: 2400. Effect: This card is unaffected by your opponent's card effects. Once per turn, at the start of the Battle Phase, you may Tribute another monster, and if you do, add both the Tributed monster's ATK and DEF to this monster's. This card may attack all monsters your opponent controls once each.
Necroshade and Clayman = Elemental Hero Tarcrafter - Earth Att, Warrior Type, ATK: 2400 /DEF: 3600. Effect: This card must be Fusion Summoned, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Once per turn, you may activate one of the following effects, depending on the position of this card:
*Attack Position - You may Tribute one monster your opponent controls to Special Summon one monster from your GY to their side of the Field in Attack Position.
*Defense Position - You may Tribute one monster you control to Special Summon one monster from your opponent's GY to your side of the Field in Defense Position. It cannot change its position this turn.
If this card leaves the Field: Special Summon one "Hero" monster from your GY. If this card goes to the GY, return it to the Extra Deck instead.

With regards to the "hyper-specific cards" in Jaden's deck, I've felt for a long while that a cool way to retrain some of the older elemental heroes (especially the normal monster ones) would be to, in part, mix a version of the effects of their hyperspecific cards into them. Like, for instance, a Clayman retrain that adapts Clay Charge as one of its effects, allowing it to destroy itself along with any monster it battles (maybe even do some burn like clay charge too). Or, another example, a Wildheart retrain with an effect like Cyclone Boomerang, though ideally without needing for it to be destroyed by card effect.

Like, one Hero retrain could have an effect to discard one of the "hyper-specific cards" to summon the Hero it mentions from your deck or GY (or a counterpart to it), while another could search or recover the support card if you have the hero it assists (the Hero retains would be treated as their original counterparts while on the field).

If he had edge hammer set, on his second turn, he draws polymerization. Then he uses it to summon mudballman in attack mode.

He then activates edgehammer, destroys Blue eyes, then attacks Kaiba for game with mudballman.

It would’ve worked on the second turn too actually. Edge Hammer could’ve taken out Blue-Eyes as soon as Burst Stream of Destruction activated, causing it to fizzle. Then Kaibaman uses Paladin shenanigans to summon a second one. And oh wait, Skyscraper next turn would be useless without a 2050+ ATK beater to take out the second Blue-Eyes.
Jaden would have to be dumb enough to crash Mudballman to get Bubbleman live again and hope for a god-tier draw like Special Hurricane (which blows up Special Summoned monsters, taking Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon out of the game altogether) or Monster Reborn (to snipe a Blue-Eyes for himself, leaving Kaibaman unable to use Silent Doom without forcing a crash himself) to keep himself immediately in the game still.

I'll throw my ideas on the hero fusions out here just cause I really love the heros and honestly it'd be kinda fun. Best ideas I have are this.
Bubbleman and Necroshade-Elemental Hero Waking Abyss Effect- Once per turn, you can place one card back into your deck, shuffle, then draw 1 card. If it is a HERO monster, summon it to the field. (Also case this is TOO good. Negate effects of the summoned monster)
Bubbleman and Bladedge- Elemental Hero Steel Swell Effect-When this Monster attacks a monster, inflict damage to your opponent equal to that monsters defense if the attacked monster is destroyed.
Clayman and Bladedge- Elemental Hero Seismic Sabre Effect-When this monster attacks or is attacked, it can switch its self to defense mode if in attack mode. If this effect happens, Seismic Saber defense is doubled for the battle phase.
Clayman and Necroshade- Elemental Hero Crypt Crawler Effect-When this monster is face up on the field, no other HERO monster can be targeted with effects. When it is destroyed, summon is fusion materials in face up defense.
And finally! Necroshade and Bladedge! Elemental Hero Shadow Sword or Hexed Blade Effect-When this monster attacks a defense position monster, you're opponent can not activate traps or spells in response to that attack. Once per turn, you can send 1 card to the graveyard, destroy 1 card on your opponents turn. (Hexed Blade can't attack if this effect is activated.)

Clayman + Bladedge = Sledgeman, who destroys Defense Position monsters it attacks at the start of the Damage Step.
Clayman + Necroshade = Shallow Grave, who can Special Summon monsters it destroys by battle, but they can't attack that turn
Bubbleman + Bladedge = Bubble Surfer, who can destroy face-up spells (No, I don't know why I didn't do face-up Spells/Traps. I don't have another one that handles traps)
Bubbleman + Necroshade = Floodgate, who prevents non-Fusion E-HEROs from being attacked. Also, if it's destroyed by battle, it comes back with 1000 more DEF, but is banished when it leaves the field.
Bladege + Necroshade = Darkblade, who gains 100 ATK for each E-HERO in your GY and inflicts Piercing Battle Damage
...Not too happy with Sledgeman and Bubble surfer, but I like the other 3 to varying degrees. Maybe if Sledgeman did damage based on the opposing monster's DEF and if Bubble Surfer was unaffected by spells? Eh, I'd rather keep these terrible effects for my own personal record.

Something that Jaden could’ve done during the penultimate turn was after putting Necroshade to the Graveyard and getting Bubbleman instead, he could’ve normal summoned Bubbleman, draw 2 cards, then he could activate Necroshade in the graveyard. The anime effect states that you can perform an additional normal summon for an Elemental Hero without tributing. Meaning Jaden would have two monsters out on the field, and can still set Edge Shot facedown, and due to Skyscraper’s anime effect, both of his monsters would have 1800 and 3600 ATK during battle. Depending on his 2 cards that he draws may had determined the outcome of the duel a little differently or could’ve prolonged the duel even longer.

Bubbleman + Necroshade: Elemental HERO Depth Grip (like death grip but depth because water, maybe a little TOO much pun there, but it sounds cool to me, also he attacks by pulling you under the waves he makes)
Its effect would probably be to banish cards from the opponent's gy when it destroys something, and negate the effects of the monsters it destroys in battle
Clayman + Bladedge: Elemental HERO Terra Slicer (honestly can't think of much for this one, their power sets aren't really congruent, but I imagine he attacks by summoning sharp rocks from the ground)
Its effect would switch battle positions (since earthquakes appear to do that a lot in ygo) and do piercing damage
Bladedge + Necroshade: Elemental HERO Shadow Strike (bladedge turns into a ninja, using the shadow powers of necroshade or something)
This would be one of those monsters that can attack directly but only deal half damage, and it would probably still have piercing just in case
Necroshade + Clayman: Elemental HERO Swamp Soldier (He'd basically just be swamp thing from DC comics)
His effect would allow him to destroy backrow and then switch a monster's battle mode, basically making him a better version of the spark blaster combo Jaden employs a lot where he attacks then uses the blaster to swap to defense mode.

    Elemental HERO Subterra
    Warrior/EARTH/2300/2000
    Necrosahde+Clayman
(usual Fusion only clause). Cannot be destroyed by card effects. When this card is Fusion Summoned; reveal one spell/trap card that mentions one specific "HERO" monster in your hand. Add the monster mentioned on the revealed card from your deck to your hand.
    Elemental HERO Stoneblade
    Warrior/EARTH/2800/1600
    Bladedge+Clayman
(usual Fusion only clause). When this monster declares an attack on your opponent's Attack Position monster; this monster gains ATK equal to half the attack of that attack target's.
    Elemental HERO Hydroedge
    Warrior/WATER/2400/2400
    Bubbleman+Bladedge
(usual Fusion only clause). When this card is Fusion Summoned; revealed one "Elemental HERO" monster in your hand; add one Spell/Trap card that specifically mentioned the revealed card from your deck or GY to your hand. Once per turn, during your End Phase: You can select one monster your opponent controls: destroy that target and this card, then inflict damage to your opponent equal to their destroyed monster's ATK.
PSCT needs work, but I think these are suitable for attempts at a comeback for the specific duel's case.

4:10 this scenario kind of highlights the failure of the Elemental Hero archetype to live up to it's promise in my eyes. The idea of having an archetype take a stab at solving the "fusions are way too specific" problem by presenting a set of cards where any two of them could go into a specific fusion was a really interesting concept (and remember the Fusion deck had no upper size limit at this time, so even if that meant dozens of specific fusions, you'd still be allowed to run all of them at 3 copies). Unfortunately they failed to actually print fusions of every possible combination of even the original five heroes, much less combinations involving the later introduced ones, causing the problem to just reassert itself instead.

    Fusion idea 5:
    Bladedge + Necroshade
    Necroedge (cuz im basic)
    3000ATK 1800DEF
    Inflicts piecing battle damage
If Necroedge attacks an effect monster, you may return an Elemental Hero from your graveyard to the bottom of the deck - negate the monster's effect until your opponent's End Phase
If Necroedge is sent to the graveyard -> You may special summon it's materials from the graveyard and you may shuffle your deck-> Necroedge cannot be special summoned or fusion summoned before your next End Phase
If Necroedge is in the graveyard and you have Bladedge and Necroshade on the field or in your hand, you may send them into the graveyard and special summon Necroedge - this counts as a fusion summon - you can only do so if you properly fusion summoned Necroedge before that in the duel
I'll try to clarify the special summoning in case I word vomitted in paragraphs above.
Basically, to be able to special summon it from the graveyard, it must have been fusion summoned at least once before in the duel.
    - So let's say you have a card that makes you discard a card from your extra deck
    - you discard Necroedge
    - you eventually have Bladedge and Necroshade on the field or in your hand
    - you CANT special summon Necroedge because it wasn't fusion summoned before it went into the graveyard
    also the special summon cooldown:
    - you fusion summon Necroedge
    - it gets destroyed and sent to graveyard
    - you special summon Necroshade and Bladedge because you didn't need to return them to deck with the other effect
    - you draw
    - YOU CANT immediately special summon Necroedge or fusion summon a copy yet
    -you end you phase
    - opponent does his thing
    - you draw
-you may now special or fusion summon Necroedge
    does that make sense?

Elemental Hero Necroblade (bladege+necroshade) 3000/2000, When fusion summoned you can change the battle position of the opponent's highest attack monster. If this attacks a defense position monster, inflict piercing battle damage.
Elemental Hero Quicksand (clayman+necroshade) 2500/1500, While this card is on the field all non-EH monsters lose 500 ATK points for each EH monster in your graveyard. While this card is in your graveyard and you control no monsters, you can banish this card to special summon 1 EH Clayman from your graveyard to your field in face up defense position.
Elemental Hero Shining Shield (clayman+bladedge) 2000/3500, If you control at least 1 other EH monster or card that mentions EHs, this card can attack from defense position using its DEF for damage calculation. (Quick effect) Once per turn, you can tribute 1 EH card on the field to negate the activation of any card that targets an EH card on the field, if you control no other EH cards, you can banish 1 from your hand instead.

In the spirit of smaller duels, I would like to recommend Syrus vs Hassleberry. Mainly to acknowledge the infinite loop combo that Syrus managed to pull off, though it is noted in the anime that the duel could have concluded in a draw if Hassleberry played his trap card. But Syrus proved to be a much better friend to Jaden so he let him win the best friend title.

    Elemental Hero Bubbleblade
If this monster attacks a defense position monster inflict piercing damage. If the monster attacked is destroyed draw one card. [ Probably has a combined attack of the two monsters ]
    -
    Elemental Hero Necroblade
This monster inflicts piercing battle damage, however the monster cannot be destroyed by battle. After the battle, you can use the monster attacked as a tribute. Bubbleman + Necroshade= E-Hero Maelstrom. Effect (When this card is destroyed by battle, roll a dice, you can special summon one E-Hero monster from the graveyard, with restrictions based on the dice roll: 1-2, Monster must have less ATK points than Maelstrom, 3-4 Monster must have a lower level than Maelstrom, 5-6, Monster must have lower DEF points than Maelstrom. The summoned monster cannot use any effects the turn it's special summoned. NOTE: ATK, DEF and Level are based on Maelstrom's values at destruction, not by default.)
Bladedge + Clayman= E-Hero Phalanx. Effect (When this card destroys a monster, switch it into defence position, this card cannot be destroyed by battle, or targeted for destruction by card effect, any turn this occurs,. Any piercing damage dealt in battle with this card becomes 0.)
Bladedge + Necroshade= E-Hero Accretion Disc. Effect (While this card is on the field, any card effect which would increase LP, instead decreases LP by half the value that would otherwise be gained. Once per turn, you can banish this card, skip the Battle Phase of that turn, this card returns at the End Phase)
Clayman + Necroshade= E-Hero Dark Homunculus. Effect (This card cannot be destroyed by battle. Increase this card's ATK by 500 during each of your standby phases. After this card attacks, reduce this card's ATK to 0. Whenever this card destroys a monster, add one Dark Token to this card. You can tribute this card to send, to the graveyard, all monsters your opponent has on the field, and in their hand, with levels equal to, or less than, the number of Dark Tokens on this card when it is tributed. Actually, Kaibaman could've won on turn 4 by just playing "De-Fusion" on Mudballman. Even if he was saving it for his Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon? Their was no risk here as Jaden had no set cards and Mudballman had no other effects. Also, if you do not know? Necroshade's effect in the anime is slightly different than in the TCG/OCG; For you see, Necroshade lets you normal summon using it's effect, while still keeping your regular normal summon. Jaden could've normal summoned Bubbleman in defense, draw 2 cards, then use Necroshade to summon Bladedge.

    Elemental Hero Deathslicer
    DARK/Warrior
    2100/1800
When this card battles another monster, cards and effects cannot be activated until the end of the damage step, neither player receives battle damage, and neither monster can be destroyed by battle. Negate the effect of a monster that battles this card, and have that monster's ATK and DEF become 0. Also, while it remains faceup on the field, it cannot be used as material to Special Summon a monster from the Extra Deck.
So for all intents and purposes, anything it battles is destroyed(kinda like being sliced by "death"), but still occupies its zone. I haven't played the game in like 8 years, so I have no idea who weak/strong this is, but it's my shot at creating something unique lol

1 "Elemental Hero Bladedge" + 1 "Elemental Hero Necroshade"
This monster cannot be Special Summoned except by Fusion Summon. When this card is Fusion Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 level 8 or lower Elemental Hero from your hand or graveyard but its effect(s) are negated. If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. If this card is sent to the Graveyard by Battle or by a card's effect you can add 1 Normal Elemental Hero monster from your deck to your hand.

I loved that episode, not only for the duel itself, but also because it was a milestone in the character development of Jaden. Up to that point, Jaden was dueling because it was fun, but from the Shadow Riders arc and onward, losing a duel could mean losing your soul or your friends' soul.

    Bladedge + Necroshade
    ATTRIBUTE (Dark)
    LEVEL: 8 (idk)
Elemental HERO Grim Edge (Sort of a Grim Reaper lookin dude obviously similar to Necroshade, with a scythe or sickles made from Bladedges..well blades.)
    Warrior/Effect
When this card is Special Summoned, you can target 1 level 5 or higher "Elemental HERO" monster in your graveyard. Special Summon it to the field.
If another "Elemental HERO" monster you control would be destroyed by battle, you can negate the attack and send this card to the graveyard. If you do, destroy one monster your opponent controls.
If this card is in your graveyard when your opponent activates a spell, trap or monster effect (Quick Effect): Banish this card, and if you do, negate the activation of your opponents card.
You can only use each effect of Elemental HERO Grim Edge once per turn.
    ATK/ 3200 DEF/ 2000
This is off the top of my head.

He could have fused Bubbleman and Necroshade into Absolute Zero, used Necroshade's effect to summon Bladeedge, crash his Absolute Zero into a Blue-Eyes and blow his field, and attack with Bladeedge. De-fusion on Ultimate Dragon wouldn't stop it with how the chain resolves and Absolute Zero's effect procs. Only bouncing or banishing Absolute Zero could prevent that effect.
So as long as De-Fusion isn't used *on* Absolute Zero in this situation, he'd win.
(Edit: Cleaned up the writing; also just wanna mention every one of the Omni-Heros *except* Absolute Zero requires any HERO. There's a Dark Omni-Hero that could be made too but it's garbage compared to Absolute Zero.)

    Elemental Hero Stone Edge
    LV 8
    ATK/DEF: 2500/3000
"Elemental HERO Clayman" + "Elemental HERO Bladegde"
Must be Fusion Summoned and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways.
This monster can attack while in face-up DEF Position. If they do, apply their DEF for damage calculation. If this card attacks a DEF Position monster: Inflict Piercing Battle Damage. Any effect(s) that would increase this card's ATK, increase this card's DEF instead.
A good way to combine Clayman's defense and Bladedge's offense in one neat little package. It takes into account the Skyscraper Field Spell and it serves as a precursor to the Superheavy Samurai Archetype.

    Level 7, Water, Warrior/Fusion/Effect
    ATK: 2400, DEF: 2600
Elemental HERO Bubbleman + Elemental HERO Necroshade
This card must be fusion summoned first.
You can also Summon this card, by banishing the mentioned fusion materials from the GY, while having no cards in your hand. (This is treated as a fusion summon).
While on the field and in the GY, this card is treated as "Elemental HERO Bubbleman".
When this card leaves the field, banish it from your GY and add one of your "Elemental HERO Bubbleman" from your banished cards to your hand.

@@johnnysizemore5797 Mountain is definitely the more balanced one (although that protection may be too good combined with his other effect) but waters ability would be busted mainly because there weren't that many banishing/general destruction options available back then thanks to the banlist.
Discarding a monster card and just banishing all the opponents monsters, to put it into perspective, it's a buffed raigeki, and raigeki was banned back then. And it's not a case like flare wingman where the fusion requires many steps to get out, you can get this out as your first card in a duel, specially with searchers like emergency call.
Not only that, but you can do it every turn, so it's not limited to the turn it is summoned, and you can still attack after using it's effect, so it almost guarantees a direct attack if you normal summon another monster like sparkman.
Or even better, if you get lucky, you can use necroshade's effect to normal summon a high level monster, and have both of them attack directly.
Or you can use it's effect to discard a strong monster in order to resurrect it with a magic card.
Not only does it have a strong effect by itself, but having necroshade as a component gives it high combo potential.

Must be Fusion summoned and can't be Special Summoned by any other ways. Once per turn, you can banish this monster from your Graveyard to Special Summon one Elemental HERO monster from your hand.
(Effect Reasons - Wanting to create something similar to Necroshade's effect but also make it better.)
Bubbleman + Bladedge - Elemental HERO Wave Slasher (Level 7, Water) (2400/600)
Must be Fusion Summoned and can't be Special Summoned by any other ways. If this monster attacks a Defense Position monster, it inflicts piercing battle damage. If this card was Fusion Summoned and you control no other monsters, you can add from your deck one Level 4 or lower Elemental HERO monster but cannot Normal Summon monsters with the same name of that monster.
(Effect Reasons - Bladedge piercing too good, also wanted it to keep some of Bubbleman's effect but not as strong as just a Pot of Greed like it is in the anime)
Clayman + Necroshade - Elemental HERO Buriedman (Level 6, Earth) (1600/2800)
Must be Fusion Summoned and can't be Special Summoned any other way. If this monster would be destroyed by battle, you can remove from play one Elemental HERO monster to prevent it. If this card is destroyed by a card effect, return all banished Elemental HERO monsters to the Graveyard.
(Effect Reasons - Wanting to add more to Clayman with it as he is the big wall of the deck, so give him more defense power in an effect rather than Mudballman's 3000 statline. However I also didn't want to punish his effect too much so that's why the banish return effect was added.)
Clayman + Bladedge - Elemental HERO Stonecutterman (Level 7, 2600/2000)
Must be Fusion Summoned...This monster cannot be destroyed by battle during your Battle Phase. If this Defense Position monster is attacked, you take no piercing battle damage and the monster that destroyed this will be destroyed at the end of the Battle Phase.)
(Effect Reasons - Again, wanting to add more to Clayman as a wall but combine it with a removal effect to keep some of Bladedge's power to it. Also because normally Bladege gives piercing, I thought blocking it with Clayman's defenses would be a fun twist on the effect.)
Bladedge + Necroshade - Elemetnal HERO Deathedge (Level 7, 2600/1000)
Must be Fusion Summoned...If this monster destroys a Defense position monster and sends it to the Graveyard, banish it instead.
(Effect Reasons - Necroshade's Banish effect is usually for summoning, but Bladedge's effect is for damage and aggression. So let's combine them and make this guy epic removal rather than just damage.)
