This is an excellent film, really tastefully done. I spent seven months walking the islands back in 2019, and it's wonderful to see so many of the places I roamed. I never made it to St. Kilda, but I did spend four nights alone on Mingulay. That was something else.
I loved this video, seeing some of the isles and areas I have visited and loved and some I missed on my visits and will check out next time. Loved the drone footage 👌
This video documenting your exploration of the Outer Hebrides in Scotland is absolutely mesmerizing! The Outer Hebrides are known for their rugged beauty and rich cultural heritage, and you've captured the essence of this stunning landscape perfectly. From the windswept beaches to the ancient standing stones, every moment of your journey is a feast for the eyes and the soul. Thank you for taking us along on this incredible adventure and allowing us to experience the magic of the Outer Hebrides through your eyes. Can't wait to see where your travels take you next! 🏴✨ #OuterHebrides #ScotlandExploration
Lovely video. My wife and I are visiting Lewis in 3 weeks time. Stopping in the Lake District first, then on to Loch Ness. Finally on to Lewis/Harris. Cannot wait.
Scotland is a total enigma when you go north - it looks like God took every country, smashed them all together in some Bohemian Rhapsody symphony and said " my work is now done". Jesus asked God " Did you do that ?" and God replied "God's country" put on his sunglasses like a badass, gives a kiss with his hand to Jesus and he simply said " Au Revoir kid, remember the Unicorn."
Thanks for putting so much effort into this fantastic video. I’m from Liverpool, but will be exploring the Outer Hebrides next Summer. Looks amazing. Cannot wait.
Thank you for taking me back down memory lane. A couple of world cups ago I did a very similar trip in a auto-sleeper I had. I did all the places you did and a few more but my video was nowhere near as good as yours. I could blame that on a lot of things but never on the weather or my camera gear and DJI Mavic. Nor the sunny days we spent there without any rain. 3 weeks with just 3 cloudy days. Your trip looked so much fun, had lots of detail and history in it. Which goes a long way’s when telling a story. Thanks for sharing this story. Ray K UK 🇬🇧 YNWA. I will be on Loch Linnhe in May with my Honwave and Suzuki outboard camping on the islands along the way, I love Scotland. I just wish the further North you go the less friendly people are. The main pub in Barra looking over the castle a old couple in there early 70’s got beat up because they where from GLASGOW. The best I saw at Lewis was massive with little islands everywhere we could not get served the main little store because we where English. I was in a restaurant and a gang of grown men left the place calling it a disgrace they allowed the English in with the stench. But I still go to Scotland every year. For every few baddies there is 10 times more goodies. My favourite place in the world is the highlands. Thanks again.
You can not beat any of this, tranquil & scenic, the beaches magnificent. I did the vast majority of National Service on Benbecula as Permanent staff at RAGWR (Guided Weapons Range). The Camp on Benbecula & the workshops on South Uist. Did a turn on St Kilda for a period, just pre Christmas 1961. It was more a punishment, but that's another story. During what was termed, the firing season, Kilda did the tracking of missiles, high up on what we knew as 'Decca' all the tracking equipment was there, Oscillators & the like. I served as a REME member there & there were a number of other Corps attached in servicing the general run of things. It was indeed memorable as I missed most of Spurs Cup & League double that season. Managed a couple of games when I was on leave & a couple of Reading games that was my home town club There you go, that's life. I still curse the bloody Establishment but I got some of my hard earned tax back through a free tour of some of the most stunning scenery on this earth.
I only just discovered your channel and I really enjoyed your video. Great camerawork and excellent music ... I'm desperate to go back to the Hebrides now and will deffo do St Kilda next time
This is so helpful and lovely to see. Beautifully shot/edited! I'm heading up that way for a couple of weeks later this year and looking for inspiration on places to explore :)
Crazy that you got to St. Kilda - didn't know it was possible! Pretty small boat for that distance and quite expensive! What a great trip and amazing weather.
Quite a few operators go out there from Skye , Harris and Uist but it’s your luck with the weather . This year I tried to go again and the weather did not permit it for a whole week unfortunately
@@seb-depp They don’t unfortunately, however even if it was permitted the birds would be going for it. Would have loved to have got a shot from a far from the boat.
I have thurly enjoyed this video, and what can l say about the views they so trimendous, l was glad you visited the land of Barra, cause my Sister and I flew there years & years ago, & the lady in the shop gave us a car free of charge to go round the Island in time to get the plane back to Glasgow, l thurly enjoyed that day, you are doing a great job , keep it up.
Great video Dave. We are heading over in September 23 for a grand tour in our Motorhome. Just wondering if you can tell me the names of the campsites you stayed at on Lewis and Harris. 👍🏻
Hi, loved the video. We will be visiting The Isle of Lewis in June. I was wondering what drone do you use as the airial shots were awsome. Thanks for a fantastic video.
Water would have been somewhere between 10-12 degrees Celsius . It doesn’t vary much between summer and winter and this was in spring. Wetsuits not necessary for a dip or quick swim but definitely for spending a prolonged time in the water.
I don’t know if it’s the only beach in the world where you can land a plane, I lived in Auckland for 24 years and the flight from there to Great Barrier Island also landed on the beach. Home now, Alba gu brath 🏴
It’s the only Airport in the world where scheduled commercial flights land on the beach. There are perhaps other beaches in the world where it is possible to land a plane. Looking at Great Barrier island the airstrip looks close to the beach but not on the beach itself . Perhaps they used to land on the beach? Interesting 😊. Thanks for watching
@@Dave_Whyte yes, there’s an airstrip close to the beach, we took off from there on the way back but we landed at a different part of the island on a beach. Anyway,it doesn’t really matter.
Absolutely stunning. Wonderful watch.

Great video, particularly the St Kilda part. The unicorn we could certainly manage without.

June/July

Traigh na Beirigh
Definetely the place I would visit if I wanted to kill myself. Otherwise, not for me. So depressing, lonely and boring.
Stick to your egg and chips, Irish pubs and packing a box of English tea in your suitcase
