I was there at Sandwich, Il, Jesus Midwest, Wow what a great weekend. No one but Matthew Ward has this phenomenal voice Praise the Lord for all the great music of the 80's
Lee, it's been many years since you posted this; however, I (a 2nd Chapters of Acts fan) am just seeing this. This is wonderful. I am going to confess the musicality of this performance (the band and Matthew) was just too good the first couple of rounds I've listened to this that I didn't focus on the message. Now I am letting those powerful lyrics sink in. Thank you for sharing your moments with the band and with Nellie, Matthew, and Annie!
Thanks! I used to play "Mr. Briefcase" by Lee Ritenour for soundcheck sometimes with 2nd Chapter Of Acts, and Matthew wanted a similar thing on this song. The pick was for precision and attack, I would have slapped this otherwise..I did slap the intro which was in very odd meter as I recall. I appreciate your comments!
I don't use this word often and I vowed to use this only when it came to refering to God and I guess it is appropriate... This is AWESOME! Thanks for sharing this, Lee.
Hey, thank you Moffatwv.....I noticed when I visited your TH-cam site that you like Phil Keaggy too. The guitarist in this video and I played with Phil for several years before we played with Matthew and 2nd Chapter Of Acts. Phil lives nearby and we get together socially and play together from time to time. I did a tour with him a couple of years ago and have done some recording over at his studio. A wonderful musician, dear friend and a man of integrity. Thanks, my best to you. Lee Jones
Lee, Thank you for posting these great "long lost" videos! I got to see 2nd chapter of Acts twice when I was a teenager. I have loved their music for gosh, 28 years or so now. I just "liked" Matthew Ward on Facebook and have left him a comment or two.
Good grief!! That is a killer bass groove you have going there! Looks like you are concentrating quite a bit too. Did that song ever get to be second nature to play? I think I might break out into a cold sweat before that song came up. lol
@Llelandj That's so cool. I saw Phil in concert a few years ago in Pa. His music and that of 2d Chapter of Acts is so precious and meaningful, but without the supporting musicians it wouldn't be the same!
Did 2nd Chapter of Acts play as a group that day or was this all Matthew Ward? I don't use this word often and I vowed to use this only when it came to refering to God but I guess it is appropriate... This is AWESOME! Thanks for sharing this, Lee.
What devil told you this lie? It was not the scripture, God's word. It was something strictly cultural, the way you were raised, and it has nothing to do with following the Christ, Jesus of Nazareth, the God-man, the Savior. Dance before the Lord, dance in His joy, praise him with stringed instruments!!!!!
The players are: Michael Celenza/Drums, Curt Bartlett/Guitar, Jim Tenneboe/Keyboards, and Lee Jones(myself) Bass. Thanks for asking!
I remember seeing you and Curt once or twice with Phil Keaggy. Great band!
Amazing !!!

This young man could have replaced Steve Walsh of Kansas in a heartbeat.
This was Sandwich, Il, Jesus Midwest. Powerful in person. Love this "Album", wore it out.

This song reminds me "Habit of hate" from Sweet Comfort Band, I love both songs!
Love it. Is it possible to re-upload at a higher quality resolution?
Ward’s tour of his 1986 album Armed and Dangerous with Curt Bartlett on lead guitar.
Great album !!

I loved the songs from that album. This scene looks like it was at a music festival I went to in the late 80s called Fishnet. Was that it?
this is your song Lee, this is bass heaven
