- In late June, Lil Nas X dropped “Panini,” the follow-up single to his monster hit, “Old Town Road.” Produced by Take A Daytrip and Dot Da Genius, the track became Lil Nas X’s second-biggest hit to date, debuting at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100. Take A Daytrip’s David Biral and Denzel Baptiste sat down with Genius to break down how the song was made.

Rap Producers should b making the most money in today’s rap if it wasn’t for the music production n beat rappers would b straight trash
GTO_ James big facts
producers deserve most of the credit nowadays tbh
This beat is actually more complex then I expected
Facts they got like 3 bass/ sub bass sounds going on shit is insane
Michael T Yeah man, probably a lot of sidechaining and phase alignment going on

Chowder was my favorite fucking serie but then they stopped sending it:(
These two are actually musicians rather than just beat makers, it’s interesting to see them using traditional synthesisers in a time when most are doing everything digitally
What’s the different? Things change over time..
There's nothing wrong with doing shit digitally. Some producers don't have enough money yet for synthesizers and you gotta know that. Old times are gone, new times are here, times change and we got new stuff. Just cause people got some traditional synths don't mean they real musicians. Move on.
stop staying in the past, ya 50 year old
It's official: Lil nas X is no longer a one hit wonder

Nice to see producers that are actually trying to be complex and different for a change.
they added a lot of things without making it feel overloaded
James when it comes to trap
Putting more than one sound a is consider complex.
Usually there’s only one melody, same drum pattern, and that’t it.
On that beat they did it from a musical prospective, and not like “OMG LETS MAKE A bAnGeR”
Lots of producers do, they just aren't well known

the amount of time and effort that is put into a 3 minute song .......... amazing!
eabh byrne 2 min
Probably took like 10 min to make this beat
@@champagnepapi2660 lol
@@champagnepapi2660 I doubt it actually. If they were using digital synthesizers then yea I would say about 30 minutes, but with all the analog synthesizers I'm genuinely impressed by how they combined all the elements to make something sound simple, yet truly be complex. You can add a million effects, synths, and whatever, but perfecting a simple song is a lot harder.
It usually comes together pretty fast once you get the first few sounds lol
This is definitely the best TH-cam series... I love how they recognize producers and not just the artist
Daytrip seem like dope dudes. Just genuine dudes who fw music, no industry BS. Would love to kick it with them
I really like these guys, they are very talented and you can see how much they love what they do in the way they explain the process. Also very humble guys. 👍
