    Yes, the instant Strobe with the doubleswitch is awesome.

    That's my cup of tea! Honestly, I hate one click for something, two clicks for another thing, three clicks blablabla...So, Fenix PD40R V3.0 is my all time favourite!

    Instant stobe is an instant no from me. I'd rather have instant high or turbo. The strobe can disorientate the user too, strobe is a gimmick. For people who think it's tacticool.

    Gotta say I really am shocked. I agree with your earlier stance about having direct access to Turbo/High as a defensive tool. If a light doesn't have that, I don't want it. You've even made videos demonstrating this and ultimately settled on the Weltool T2 TAC and dismissing the Acebeam P16 for the reasons you now praise here. What changed your mind to a strobe?

      Probably a free Fenix light changed his mind

    Its to fat. There are 18650 tactical lights that are more compact. So I dont see the benefit. I think a slim 14500 tactical light would be great. Also the two stage single tail switch with turbo/strobe like on the Nextorch is the best UI for self defense.

    I think that I will wait for Olight to release the baton turbo’s head on the warrior nano body. This one would be even better !

    Im still choosing the acebeam p16 or the nextorch ta30

    It can't compare to the nightcore P23i. That light is almost dangerous. It's my everyday carry light. 3000 lumens 55,000 candela & almost 500 meters of throw.

      You really carry that around in your pocket? All the time? Really? For what reasons? I am not being rude..just curious. I see a lot of people saying get the acebeam l35 or some big light like the e75 for edc...and I am curious why you need something like that when most people live in an urban area and just need a light for around the house.

      Because my job requires me to go in to some of the most darkest places in urban areas. I don't use 3000 lumens all the time but when i need it really helps out.@watsonvillian

      That's one of my lights also. It's a great light, it's that i find myself favoring just one button in back.

      Same here. I also carry the Nitecore P23i in my NUP20 utility pouch everyday, everywhere I go. It sits nicely inside the pouch with my other edc 'tools' ready for use. Very useful during emergency power outages, night walks, and self-defense (mostly for 'dog-defense' in my location where aggressive dogs roam the streets at night).

    How does this beam compare to the cloud edc and hc beams?

  • @Madman6505

    Nitecore edc 33 has a 4000 lumens instant turbo but no blinky. I would wager that 1000 lumens blinking feels much better in the eyes than a constant 4000 lumens. But then again the edc 33 battery is built in. 😢

    Fenix also says their newer lights the type c port is sealed even if the rubber boot gets knocked off

    one thing i hate though is that dual rate strobe flashing that some lights do. when it is strobing at a very quick rate it is no where near as disorientating as when the strobe rate isnt as quick. if it would just only strobe at the slow rate it would be so much better. i dont get the dual rate strobe at all

    Looks good, thanks for the review. Reminds me of the 18350 little brother of the 18650 Acebeam P16 Defender

    And……of course Fenix drops the ball again with mode memory on a self defense “tactical light “ . Wow sorry Mr attacker, give me a sec to switch to high mode.

      Yeah! I gotta say I'm surprised with this pick. This guy always praises (for good reason) having a one-click to Turbo/High mode. I don't see how this one gets a pass. As far as EDC use, the Foursevens Quark is miles better for that, not to mention easier to pocket.

    Do the police in other countries use strobe? I’ve never seen it at least on camera here in the US.

    Anyone else seen the new Acebeam TAC 2AA that just released? Looking very impressive for a 2 x AA / 14100 light. I've been looking for a light in this form factor for a while but nothing else I've seen hits all the points I'm looking for until this. There are a couple of versions of the light out one having a 1600 lumen max with a 180M of throw and the one I'm interested in (the blue version) with the SFT-25 emitter that has 1400 lumens max but 300+ Meters of throw, 23k candela out of a 22mm head. It also has a selectable Tac mode removing mode memory and always defaulting to turbo from off which I like. Separate mode switch so can momentary activate tail switch repeatedly without changing output. Looks like this might have the right combination of output, candela and UI to make it a decent tac / defensive light in a very slim package.

    • @xtanwolff
      @xtanwolff 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It sucks. The separate mode switch can also turn off the light. But when you go to press the tail to turn it back on eventually, it does nothing. It's like you turned off the light via the side switch, but only the tail switch "really" turns off the light. So when you do try to use the tail again after using the side switch, you need to "turn it off" before you can turn it on again (i.e. pressing twice).

    • @rothxvii5181
      @rothxvii5181 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Good too know, was trying to work out exactly how the two switches interacted from the promo information I've seen and did sound a little odd. Probably going to pick one up anyway as are pretty inexpensive and just make a point of not switching off with the side switch (shouldn't be a problem as I pretty much exclusively use my lights in reverse grip and would always switch off via the tail switch by default as that's what I'm used to). I like Acebeam products but they do seem to have a tendency to put bad UIs in otherwise good lights. This spoiled the T35 for me, the permanent mode memory and no shortcut to turbo. Found myself often being surprised when I pulled it out expecting turbo and getting low because I'd turned it down and forgotten or accidentally hitting the mode switch at a bad time and going to ultra low with no quick way back.
