Dude, this is perfect. I need to do some fictional calligraphy for a project I'm working on, but cannot afford an art tablet. This has saved me so much time and effort.
Did it and got it. This was so easy and clear to follow. One problem though: when the brush strokes are overlapping, they have this white outline. Is that normal or can it be fixed?
So when I make a new brush, finish the drawing. Then start a new file, my brush isn’t saved. How do I permanently save the brush to my brush library so I don’t have to keep recreating it.
Is there a way to have Illustrator open with the brush library that we want, instead of the default set that I personally never use? It's a pain in the ass having to close the default brush library and open the brush library that I want every time I use the program.
Hey Dansky is this process the same if you want to make a pen for the pen tool ? I'm trying to make a pointed end brush but I'm still struggling pls help !
I get a faint outline on the edges of the stroke when the brush strokes overlap each other e.g. if I'm drawing an ampersand. The brush is set to stroke, with fill set to none. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? Thanks for the great tutorial!
Already huge work! Already huge work! now, my line is not like yours, I change just like you but it remains rounded, it's because I do not have a stylus? I do it with the mouse
Help!!! I had done what you said only that when I put the brush I had some bends, I erased the brush then I recreated one but the application blocked me the spreading brush and the artistic brush !! :(
Update: No worries I figured it out you have to click Object>Expand Appearance, then when you select a colour it will change the color of stroke, if anyone needed that.
I can't create my brush. After making the shape and adding the new brush. I also select the new brush but when i draw anything nothing comes up. What am I doing wrong. I am doing exactly what you have done. Please help me
THANK YOU!! It's embarrassing how long I have been using illustrator for without ever really getting into painting. A whole new world!
Great tutorial, thank you =D
