Qu: I do struggle with the Sketching step, do you recommend taking classes in drawing and illustration first?

For sketching, something that helped me a lot was doing drawing challenges - like drawing each letter of the alphabet in a new style or trying out as many different versions of the same idea as you can in 60 seconds.

Hi! This was very helpful. Thank you! Quick question: What was your thought proces behind your own logo? For instance why did you choose for a Wordmark if that type of logo is more corporate?
Great question! For Kayla, the name is so short that we thought it would work well as a wordmark but we are actually rebranding (which I will share here on the channel!) and the new brand will have an icon 😊

How did you transfer the samples you drew on your notepad into illustrator software?
Great question! If I draw on paper, I usually take a photo with my phone and then use the pen tool or shape builder to re-create it in Illustrator. If I work in Procreate, I can share the design over the cloud and then re-create it. I hope that helps! 😊

How do you write project description
/when you design brand identity
I like to create a brief together with my client. That way we are all on the same page :) We have a meeting where I ask a lot of questions and afterwards I write up a description of the whole project before we start. I like to use the tool HolaBrief for this. Does that answer your question? 🙌
What application do you use for your mind maps?
I use a tool called Milanote 😊 I actually use it for planning my day to day tasks and projects as well!

Yes! I can share some that have really helped me 😊 For logo design, I really like "Logos" by Cruz Novillo, the "logos from" series from Counterprint and Aaron Draplins book.
For design and business, I really like the book "Work for money, design for love" by David Airey and "Citizen first, designer second" by Rejane Dal Bello.
The site Counterprint has lots of great books in general! I hope that helps 🙌

Mam, I have a doubt regarding using the design for comercial purposes. I created an AI generated logo in Adobe illustrator in the free version and downloaded the same. Can I use it for commercial purpose. Or should I pay for the licenced version and do the design?

I could see that 😊 This part of checking against other brands is always tricky. I like to use the WIPO database to check against logo trademarks - they have a great image search function similar to tin eye. What is your process when you want to check if there are similar marks out there? 🙌
