- I can hardly find works about frontier defense solo on ytb, except for that expert player Dinosaurd123
However, these contains a series of challenges (7 titans on 8 maps, total 56 combinations). It is a bit unbelievable that few players have explored them so far, though there has been a quite long time since frontier defense was released.
I will gradually upload my works on these challenges, all of them related with DIFFICULT and INSANE level

INSANE Rise solo should be the ultimate challenge for scorch(if you are not seeking for flawless Kodai), after you have beaten Black Water, Angle City and Kodai.
Without mini-map, the difficulty of Rise significantly increases, because, compared to MASTER, you may lose more 100$ bonus in any waves, and you need shield for emergency, meaning you cannot afford a turret. By accumulating the mistakes brought by no-map, you may be in a bad status when wave 5 comes.
Luckily, I continued though killed by reaper in first wave, and finished this challenge, and survive wave 5 even though this is the first time for me to fight INSANE wave 5.
Thanks to ana, who may be the first one finished scorch INSANE Rise, and made a tutorial. This helps me to achieve this

Very impressive! You implemented a lot of good strategies and managed very well! I used a lot of similar end of the wave strategies before i started doing speedruns to get extra esmokes, core gain, etc to prep for the harder waves :)
Wave 4 is tricky to get the hang of. A certain number of reapers need to be killed mid wave to prevent spawn cap from being reached otherwise you get stuck in limbo for a bit
I'm just getting into Titanfall 2 now, and I love scorch, and frontier defense. Your solo videos on insane difficulty are very impressive. I first saw your ronin video and I figured if any titan could solo it'd be a ronin. I didn't realize you did it on all titans! I'm excited to learn from your videos
Great use of canister+flame wall to instant reset your titan respawn as well :)
LMAO the arc titan at 34:20 died from phase shifting into your arc trap hitbox and self destructed! I love when that happens 🤣🤣

@@gtjeight384 on this map you can actually line up where the trap is placed so that a lot of arc ronins will suicide as they reach the harvester. It's hilarious

The turret unfortunately didn't help out too much. I usually end up using sentries for blockade strats. If you position them at an angle to each other on tbe enemy's path you can use they can act as a wall to permanently or block off some routes
I use turret because it really free me from clearing remaining drones, and sometimes distract enemies from harvester; I treat blocking as glitch, and won't use it in glitchless solo
@@gtjeight384 fair point i see your logic with the distractions and alleviating some of the pesky drones roaming around. Fair decision regarding why you don't use them as a blockade as well :)
I just remembered the most important discovery my team and I found on this map which will help you tremendously! You can see it showcased in all of my duo rise speedruns. If you go above the map you can place both sentry turrets where the drones spawn and effectively spawn trap 80% or more of them. For the first few seconds that they land they are stationary and don't fight back. Your turrets kill them faster than they activate if positioned correctly. It will speed up the waves 4 and 5 by a few minutes so things happen faster than you're used to but you also dont have to deal with any drones that come from overtop in the mid section which is 80-90% of the drone spawns.

@@gtjeight384 needs to be positined precisely. Done properly they kill the drones faster than they activate their plasma guns

you did a lot of things that confused me but im very impressed. why did you place the a wall and satchels in-between rounds? that was the main thing that confused me
A wall can amplify damage of bullets that go through it, including c4, that is the very reason why it is called "amped" wall. Deployed c4 can be detonate mannually during waves and provide 6600 damage at highest, help instantly kill some important targets

It is good, but in public match without titan meter multiplier, you may need at least two clumsy nuke titans to successfully convert all damage into titan meter

So that nuke titan at 3:40 that you completly ignored reached the harvester, blowed up, and the harvester took zero damage. It not even depleted the harvester shield. Mind to explain?
Less the players, stronger the harvester, and this is the fundamental of the accessibility of most solo, you can try yourself in private match
@@gtjeight384 I did countless private solo matches and have more than 3,600 hours of playtime on TF2 with about 85-90% of it FD. Still a nuke that does zero damage to the harvester is wild and it’s not what i experience when doing solos. That’s why i’m asking.
@@DirkLachowski No matter how much you played as you described, I am the one who finished the most glitchless insane solo matches on youtube afaik, and this is what I experienced, so let me see your vid, a private solo in vanilla, not in northstar server, including a nuke striking the harvester
@@gtjeight384 I just gave it a try on a private insane and you are right. I replayed your opening on Rise, let the Legion slip through and the harvester took no damage. Never noticed that before. My appologies.
@@DirkLachowski nvm, letting the nuke go is a useful strategy in solo if you are busy in handling ton of enemies
I watches this a😂nd ended up finally going to bed 3 hours after I needed to be asleep cuz I just had to turn on titan fall 2 the best God damn game out there, to play the best Ballon tower defense game EVER Created titan fall 2 frontier defense, this game is juic3D and I can't wait to play it in vr someday
At 14:09 there's a nuclear dealing a very low damage percentage while exploding right next to the harvester... Is this legit?
You should already notice this at wave1. In private match FD, core mutiplier is significant, and harvester is much harder when there is only one pilot, all these buff given by Respawn make solo in private match possible. Public match doesn't provide these buff. You can try it in your private match session

@@delmoinx 1600h+. It is hard to say which titan is my favourite for solo, because when it comes to INSANE level, there are few titans you can choose and even fewer maps you can try. As I said in description, there are 56 combinations, but only 9 are possible up to now, so I enjoy every solo I’ve done. Ronin, Scorch & Monarch, they have different challenge and superiorities, all are worth trying. But if you ask me which titan I dislike for solo, I would say Ion, since its core is really unstable for winning the only solo(Black Water) it can do, and this is the only one among the 9 I haven’t conquered
@WhySere Same at 3:40 where the harvester takes zero damage from a nuke that he just decides to ignore - not even the shield is fully down - or the Ronin at 14:45 that’s sitting idle at the harvester. Also notice the Reapers at 7:50 that are like „Shoot that titan? Nah, not today“ before he starts to smoke. In about 3,600 hours of playtime, including many private solo matches, i still have to meet an unbreakable harvester or friendly reapers, but sometimes you just get that lucky glitch. And this is most likely not his first try, so there may be other matches where the reapers are less friendly, the harvester is more brittle, and Ronins just do their sparking Ronin thing but that are not worth showing. But that‘s what private matches are for - to tweak the rules till they fit your playstyle and to experiment without bothering others. Comes with faster cores, the rest is how you adjust it. Also this is really a Scorch map - and with the faster cores on private that you can turn up all the way to 500%, you have core after core. It even helps to be solo with a Scorch, because the biggest problem in most matches is less experienced players staying next to your Scorch and draining your core multiplier. Also note how well he uses smoke - not to cast damage but to stay invisible. They don’t shoot at you if they can‘t see you, so the basic sequence is smoke, barrels, thermite, core, repeat - because every core gives you another smoke, you can do that endless and once the multiplyer is up, you just do cores. If you haven‘t done a private match, you should give it a try. It‘s fun even with 4 pilots if only for the faster cores. And definitely try a 2 pilot private that has it‘s very own dynamics if you find the right mate.
