GBO2 GM Sniper II: It breaks legs in just two shots?!

  • This video contains two recent matches I had with the LV2 and LV4 GM Sniper II on Gundam Battle Operation 2. It is a 400-550 cost support with a rifle that can break the legs of generals in just two shots, with a fast cooldown rifle, with long range, with balancers and with pretty good walking speed. Its weaknesses would be that it has somewhat low HP, an awkward Maneuver Armor break combo if on its own, it has a very small projectile for the rifle and that its boosting speed isn't the greatest. This suit was buffed last month where it got some pretty huge changes. Its rifle was changed to 1700 power at LV1 with +250 power per level, it got +5/7/9/11 ranged modifier depending on MS level, 3 seconds shorter reload time on the rifle, 80% stagger value on the rifle and LV1 Precision Shelling. This buff fixed the suits major issues regarding damage output and downtime, it is now at the point where generals legs are consistently broken in just two shots. The first match went really well I felt like, since I was just breaking legs left and right. I wasn't doing my best the second game and mostly went for easier body shots but the damage was still really high since the LV4 Sniper II gets excellent scaling. I hope that you enjoy watching!
The GM Sniper II can choose between a sniper rifle, bullpup machine gun or GM Command beam gun for its primary weapon. The bullpup makes it a worse version of any of the machine gun wielding supports at 400 cost, while the beam gun makes it an inferior version of the GM Sniper Custom ML or Gelgoog Ground Type. The LV2 sniper rifle has 1950 power, 6 ammo, 4 seconds cooldown, 12 seconds reload, 1 second swap time, 800m range, 80% stagger value and 1.5x leg damage modifier. This has decent enough power on its own thanks to the suits inherently high ranged modifier, type advantage and access to Precision Shelling. But the leg damage modifier means that you are going to be hitting legs very hard. You can expect to cripple generals legs in 2 shots, with supports and raids having theirs destroyed in about 3. This is quite frankly oppressive on wide open maps where you always have a good line of sight on enemies, so make sure to abuse it as much as possible.
Its primary melee weapon is a beam saber with 1905 power, 2.5 seconds cooldown, 0.77 seconds swap time and standard modifiers. Its power is a little below average for a 450 cost suit, but support type advantage means this can hit surprisingly hard against generals. The suit also has the advantage of the balancers skill to melee swing after a boost, so don't feel afraid to use this. You can stunlock enemies by alternating between your rifle and melee neutral swings.
Its first sub weapon is a hand grenade with 1165 power, 3 ammo, 2.5 seconds cooldown, 13 seconds reload, 1 second swap time and 50% stagger value. These are pretty useful to keep up damage while your rifle is reloading, but the stagger value means that you can break LV1 and LV2 Maneuver Armor by first throwing a grenade then following with a rifle shot.
It also has a large shield with 3300 HP. This improves the lackluster durability and also has the benefit of boosting walking/turning speed by 15% once broken. This boosts the default walking speed to 138, which can be quite useful if your shield gets blown up early into a life.
The LV2 GM Sniper II has 14000 HP, 20 ballistic/beam resist and 8 melee resist. The durability is a little below average for 450 cost but it also has the benefit of a shield to make it more in line with the rest of the cost.
It also has 120 walk speed, 155 boosting speed, 55 thrust and 54 turning speed. The walking speed is about the same as what other 450 supports get but the boosting speed is slower than what you would want for a support with melee ability. This can make it a hassle at times to keep up with the frontline but it is still workable.
Overall I think that the Sniper II is a strong suit after the buffs. Its actual damage output is pretty solid now, and this damage output increase makes its leg breaking abilities even more of a threat. Players with good aim can two shot generals legs from across the map or while tagging alongside allies, meaning you can cripple enemy generals in just 4 seconds. Its damage output is pretty scary at 500-550 cost thanks to the scaling and potential to use overtune shooting, but boosting speed is going to be a big issue here unless you are really good with your positioning. I would have liked the suit to get about 170 boosting speed with the last buff but I can't really complain after seeing how well the suit performs now. I can highly recommend this suit for players who want to focus on assisting allies with precision leg breaks and stuns to interrupt enemies. Thanks for watching, and I hope that you enjoyed it!

GM sniper II players are either complete newbies or ace pilots such as yourself. There's no in between.

I was hoping they buffed the thing by converting the Bullpup MG and the Beam Gun into sub-weapons, that way it has consistent damage output and would help in MA breaking combos, the thing looks good now though.

I wish BB Studios could add a feature to use the GM Sniper II's special visor. Gundam Evolution had the right idea, giving it the ability to track down the opposing team by basically doing a wallhack while decreasing their thruster consumption during a dash.

Something to note about DBL and ranged damage parts. If you're deciding between RD2 vs RD1 + DBL1, the combo of RD1 + DBL1 deals more overall damage to parts no matter the baseline ranged strength of your suit.

I like how my issue with this unit has been the bullet can literally just go between the legs of MS and as a result i miss a handful of shots I would easily hit otherwise.

Ngnl, when GM Sniper 2 showed up, it either a hard carry who break legs left and right or a heavy burden with no presence at all 😂
