Girl, I came from your video of you “Failing out of nursing school” about a year ago. And look at you now, my God! I’m crying, praising God for you! I’m applying to different nursing schools now. And your journey is such a testimony! You have a new subscriber btw❤️
Aww thanks so much 🥰 it has definitely been a journey
@@SincerelyShannonSubcribe 🙌🙌🙌
I love watching my black people being so inspirational smart and professional but keeps it real . I love watching you listening to you and you being you....keep up the good work and stay inspirational. I am Nurse Practitioner specialty cardiology I know the life but inspire me even more !!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it❣️
My shoes get sprayed with lysol and put in a storage box in my car. I take them off at the side of my car and put my slides on. I CAN NOT get in my car with my work shoes on! And a shower is a must!! I dont see how people get in bed after work and not shower. I swear i could see the germs spreading...lol. I am absolutely noctural, CAN NOT do day shift, TOO many people, staff, visitors, therapists, etc. Night shift for life!!
I’m glad somebody feel me! We are on the same page on all points lol
Kinda easy in psych... No visitors and working nights who's there except for me, the patients and the other staff... *kanye shrug* No point in getting exposed to all that for the same money.
Heck yes!! I absolutely can not deal with visitors
I dont get in my car with my shoes either. But I also cover my seats so I'm not seating on it with my uniform. And I never come in the house with my uniform on. I undress in the garage. Gotta do it all, lol
I’m nocturnal and is looking forward to that night shift lol
Has anyone told you , you look and sound like KeKe palmer lol
Yes lol
I was literally about to type the same thing 😂😂
Look and sound like her. 😂
YES!!! Ana Yan. She is giving a lot in this video health tips, nutrition, maintaining life as a nurse at home and at work all while educating. SHE HELPS HER TECHS/AIDES. Your time management must be on point to be done at the end of your shift. Love it. Please a video on how you manage your time and tasks to be done on time.
Thanks!
Man let me tell y’all this is beauty at its finest . I can never wake up like this
Lol thanks
Good luck to all you future nurses! There will be hard days but it’s all worth it!
Thanks❣️
i am graduating from nursing school in May of next year. i honestly looove your videos. very inspirational. thank you for sharing your journey!!
Thanks so much❣️
I’m about to start nursing school so thank you so much for a look inside of your shift! I work nights at the hospital, love night shift. Your voice & your demeanor reminds me of KeKe Palmer lol.
Love night shift too haha people have told me that her & I resemble each other lol Thanks for watching 🥰
Thats exciting! Good luck in nursing school! We definitely need more nurses😘
@@NurseErica Thank you so much! I love your videos, very informative!
@@sentfrumabove97 thank you so much! I'm glad they are helpful. I'll be rooting for you when you start nursing school!
My commute to work is 2 mins 🙌🏽 and I’m soo thankful !🥰
Wow I’m jealous lol I wish
I love her she say even-though I have 6 patients everyone acting right with a smile 😂 i know that’s right
Lol ❣️
Same I’d rather sleep then spend time on makeup n hair 💁🏻♀️I only wear mascara and chapstick
Sleep be a top priority over everything lol
You got me at the garden 🪴😍😍😍
I miss my garden so much lol
THANK YOUUU for being so transparent!!! about to start nightshift soon lol
Thanks for watching!
I’m binge watching your videos right now.
Aww thank you!
You don't need makeup your already soooo pretty and your skin looks super heathy, and sorry that you lost one of your patients just know they are in a better place now!
Aww thanks🥰
@@SincerelyShannonSubcribe No problem :)
Girl the tongue is powerful!!! Us nurses have to not jinx ourselves and keep quiet until the shift is over! I loveeeee that you have a fur baby! New subscriber btw!🙌🏽
Yes! So true! Thanks for watching 🥰
Thank you so much for your video!! I take my final exam in 2 days and graduate next week!!! I'll be working the night shift too. Everyone I've ever talked says that they will never leave nights. I'm so excited! Hopefully, I love it as much as you do! Stay blessed :)
Congrats on making it to the end. Good luck on your final exam! I hope you enjoy night shift! ❣️
Thank you for this video! You showed us everything and were so informational. You are so really beautiful btw! 🥰
Aww thanks so much🥰
Oh may girl I’m the same way when it comes to clocking out at the end of the shift. I work nights as well, some of the nurses I work with always want to be wasting their time talking or trying to pull a lengthy report just to pass time! I’m like you “let’s just get the point with report!”
Ok so at least someone gets me lol
My commute to work is 4 minutes 🙌🏾
thats nice!
My commute is 15 mins away from work & home & I feel you sis eating the same thing is so helpful. And just like you I have no problem with falling asleep once I get home from work. I like wearing nikes. What about socks ? Yes we use Epic and it’s a lot of questions to click. But thanks for letting us take a look at your nights shift & yes those mask 😷 do make me break out.
I just bought some regular compression socks off Amazon. Thanks so much for watching ❣️
Ok so I’m about to binge your channel, new subbie here 🥰🥰 loved the vlog ☺️
Ayyye! Thank you🥰
My work shoes go directly in a plastic container and I wear my slides. Girl by day 3 I dont care I just roll out of bed and go lmao and if its a update for report im ZOOMING OUT with the swiftness
🤣 same! My update be like “they alive... have a good day!” Lol outta there 😂
Hi Shannon what's an up good morning to you. I love your content, one day I will be just like you an RN this is something that I have to do. You seem like a busy person with school, work, pets, and home responsibilities. Oh, and I like your hair too.
Hey! Thanks so much❣️
EPIC is awesome! Cerner and Mckesson is a freaking nightmare in almost every institution and Meditech can be easy depending on what the hospital does to it.
I like EPIC too but my coworkers, they’re another story about it: always complaining.
So glad I found your page! I’m applying for the nursing program for fall, I’m currently in my last two prerequisites and my application has to be in by may. I’m am so nervous about applying🥴😩
Nervous is normal. Just apply, get accepted, get them classes done & before you know it you’ll be taking that NCLEX! Wishing you well on this journey ❣️
Literally same except for my program is going through a staff change, and they pushed it for the Spring so I’m literally working on my prerequisites.
Just found your channel & binge watching. My commute is 53 mins. Get home exactly at 8:30. Live in SW Florida too but we don’t have much of a “season” this year due to covid
Thank you! Sometimes I hate that drive, I be so sleepy. But other times it gives me a chance to decompress before I make it home. Yea, no season this year.
Love this video! I just recently got hired for night shift and trying to see how I need to prepare myself. My commute is gonna be 15 min so not bad at all!
That 15 mins commute is nice, I wish lol thanks for watching 🥰
I LOVE your videos. I haven been sitting here watching for over an hour when I should be studying lol. Thank you for sharing your journey to those of us who are still on our way! Do you ever mentor?
I be driving 1:45min to work girl its crazy but i love it 😭..nurselifee!!!
😩
I sleep as late as I possibly can before work. I need at least 8 hours to function haha. I'm in bed by 815am, up at 445pm and leave my house at 550pm haha.
I’m glad I’m not the only one lol thanks for watching 🥰
Thank you sooooooooooo much for this video. Im precepting nights and I'm offered an IMC for nights. I havent taken the position yet because I was so hating nights. Im on day 3 of precepting and my body is trying to get used to it plus your video helps a lot.
Nights are hard. Your body will never truly get use to it, but I just don’t even see myself doing days
I’m 100% with you- sleep > makeup anyyyyday!
Especially with Covid, the make up ends up all over the mask lol
@@SincerelyShannonSubcribe some of the girls on my floor show up with a full face of makeup on underneath their scrub caps and masks and I’m just like.. WHY. Lol
God bless you,,, I’m gave credit to all nurses ,,,
Thank you❣️
Awesome overview. I Will be transitioning to night shift...All the best on your journey
Thank you! You too!
You are a lot like me when it comes to changing your work shoes and putting them in the trunk when I get off work, lol !!!
Yes! In the box they came in lol
Love this video! I work noc shift too! I don’t have a good established routine yet. I just started working December 8th and off orientation last week. So last week was my first 3 shifts on my own: I work tonight I’m up at 4:02pm but I slept from like 11:30-2ish so I will be alright.
This week I work 2 on mon & tues 3 off and then the weekend
Still trying to establish a routine but seeing yours made me feel good
You got this!
I might become a nurse. Really I wanna go with biology
The possibilities are endless
I’m a new subscriber I’ve only watched half and like you already
Aww thanks so much 🥰
New subbie here! I’ve used epic! It’s definitely an easy system with a nice interface. I used it as a tech. Can’t wait to be done with school!
I heard it’s easier to use. Thanks for watching!
Loved this! God is really good.
Yes He is! Thanks for watching❣️
Your so beautiful ❤️, I’m going to nursing school next year
Congrats! Thanks 🥰
New Subbie here ❤️❤️ I stumbled across your “what’s in my bag” video while taking a study break from microbiology 🙄 I have been binge watching your videos (don’t be surprised if you see a random like from a year ago lol) and I’m loving your whole vibe! You don’t know it but I have laughed, cried, and gave my phone some high fives during your videos. I’m currently finishing up my prerequisites for my BSN and I start the program in the spring! Thank you for your motivation and realness. Be safe and looking forward to more videos!
Aww thank you so much 🥰 Wishing you well on your nursing journey!
7:08 period... 7:15 the latest. I’m mad if I’m there at 7:30 or later. Lol
Listen I be waiting at the clock lol
Hey, new subscriber here! I really love your videos. I am considering nursing school and wanted some insight on what to expect in the field. Thanks for keeping it real and doing this
Yes of course! I put out a video of the day in my life. Check it out. It should give you some insight on what to expect.
Bless you I am happy u help people
Thank you ❣️
Don't ever say its a good night until you clock out!!!!! Hahaha! I see its 4am on your watch. You have 3 hours left🤞I have gotten stuck at some 6am codes😭😭😭
Omg, yes! You see I was so hesitant to say it! Lol It always happen when it’s your time to leave. Be like dang I been here with you for 12 hours and you want to wait til the last minute for something to go south 😩
@@SincerelyShannonSubcribe 🤣 I def saw the hesitation in your face and I was like "nooooo, don't do it!!!! Hahaha
Had to subscribe!! Love your energy and your content
❣️
binging all of ur videos💕
Ayyye! Thanks for watching ❣️
My daughter is an Epic trainer she says it’s a good system but lots of updates.
I like it. Way easier than Cerner
Love your personality! New subbie 🥰
Thanks for watching 🥰
"She called the police on us"😂👮♂️
Man! lol
Loved your video ❤ new subscriber and I plan on attending nursing school in the future 😀
Thanks so much!
I love your video im from Detroit too hey
Hey girl! Thanks for watching ❣️
what do you use on your skin, it looks amazing! I have really bad acne prone skin so I typically just use a primer and tinted moisturizer with SPF but its mainly to conceal my imperfections. I would love to know what you do for skin care.
My skin does it’s own thing. One minute it’s flourishing and the next I’m looking like a teenager with acne lol
I haven’t seen any new ones I hope your good 💯
Just posted a video! Thanks for checking on me❣️
@@SincerelyShannonSubcribe Your more than welcome .
Girl I love this I have two semesters left then I can start applying for nursing school😍😍 I think I want to do a video on prerequisites soon 🤔
Yes, do it! So many think they can just start nursing school, but when they get there they have to complete all the prerequisite. I think that would be a very informative video!
Sincerely Shannon right! Think that will be my lil back to school series after I catch up for the past week I didn’t upload And half the time people don’t know what they’re trying to sign up for lol 😂 they think it looks good sounds good pays good but realize it might not be for them COVID is a good example like viruses and diseases have always been a risk people think I’m crazy for still pursing it either way I’d still be in the medical field rn as a medical assistant I’m just not working rn to pull these grades might start volunteering for experience though
New subbie. Love your personality!
Hey! Thanks❣️
Thank you so much for sharing this information it is really really helpful 😀 😊 ☺ 👍 New subscriber right here🙋🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️😀😀😀
Hey! Thanks for watching!
Your so beautiful inside & out 😍
Thanks 🥰
I enjoyed this video.
🥰
Your hair is beautiful
Thank you🥰
Of course! What's the secret?
Honestly I don’t even take care of it lol it stay in a bun.
Amazing Job Boo ❤🙏
Thanks❣️
Keke Palmer you’re a nurse now 👀
Lol funny
I just subscribed. Thank you for this video. I am about to go to your channel and check out the videos. i will start nursing school in September 2021. Do you have any tips.
Thanks for watching ❣️
How many time you have for eating at job? I watch this video at 23:42 pm and I become hungry , all look so tasty
I love to snack lol
Lol... their breath on you😂🚿🚿🚿
yes! lol
I can't remember do you live "days" on non-work days? I don't think I could do that, or do the rotating shifts every six weeks. I'd rather just do straight nights. I also think you're smart to walk the dog and water the garden- let's u do a few normal day things.
On my off days I sleep at a normal time. My first day I will stay up instead of going straight to sleep; it’s usually my errand day. I couldn’t do rotating shifts either
My commute is about 12 miles so 15 min
Nice! I hated driving so far
Thank you for sharing ❤️
Thanks for watching❣️
My commute is 20-25 mins🚗
Now my commute is much shorter. I like being closer to home.
I use Epic..I love it and I think its easy to use
I'm a new nurse I'm on orientation now and I will be on night shift
My hospital is thinking about changing over. I’ve heard great things about Epic
@@SincerelyShannonSubcribe yes that's good, you'll like Epic!
@@SincerelyShannonSubcribe i just started an ICU position after more than 10 years as an ER nurse. We use Epic and its easy to learn and navigate. I really like it.
Enjoyed your video. Where did you get that water bottle?
Thanks, it’s from Amazon
@@SincerelyShannonSubcribe can you include it in your Amazon store?
It’s there❣️
What black out curtains do you have
I got them from Amazon
Awesome~ Where did you get that water jug from?
Amazon
@@SincerelyShannonSubcribe Thanks!
Do you exercise? Or just eat healthy on a regular?
Depends on how I’m feeling lol
Question, do you find nights harder during daylights saving time or not?
If you work on the actual night it changes back, that can be hard, especially if you were already having a long night. But after that, it’s pretty much the same.
So do you live in Detroit or Georgia? Or, do you travel up and down the I-65 corridor for work?
Neither. I’m just traveling now until I get stationary. Florida was my home for the past 10 years
@@SincerelyShannonSubcribe Got it. Do ya thang, stay safe and out the way. Love and God bless you on your journey ❤️
What kind of unit did you work on before you started traveling?
Cardiac
Baby I don’t be with the makeup for work . it’s too much
Yes, I value my sleep more lol
Did you say Detroit???
Yep! Born and raised❣️
They sound like a Karen patient, calling the police on the hospital staff? What?!
