Is Samsung Killing Samsung Messages?

- Samsung Messages has been a popular messaging app. For the past couple of years, it hasn't had many updates.
Google Messages is the default messages app, and Samsung even recommends Google Messages.

Yeah. I use google for the reactions to other messages. I wish Samsung messages had that

I love Samsung Messages and the features they have. I believe they just need a few more updates, and the app would be fine. Google messaging, you can't customize your chats or messages. There is no trash folder. I love to see Samsung keep their messaging app.
Just wish I could change font style like on Samsung Kinda like google messages
I hope its only messages, google services and apps are shit. Samsung should focus on making their own apps and services or even operating system in the future.
I think it's too late in the game for samsung to make it's own OS at this point. If Samsung were to make their own operating system, they should've done it years ago.
Totally agree I use Samsung apps exclusively on my phone and Google Messages just feels out of place in One UI. Samsung Messages is clean and has useful features such as categorizing messages into tabs and adding a background in chats. The biggest problem with Samsung messages is that RCS is carrier dependent (mine does support it though) but hopefully more carriers will support it once the iPhone gets RCS in iOS 18.
I've been using Google Chat on my phones for awhile, I never really liked Samsung Msgs I dont know why it felt cumbersom in comparison. I am so glad to your video popped up on my youtube reconmends today, always nice to see a local youtube tech channel from Australia, Usually I head over to Flossy Carter for tech stuff, But I like your video's they're relevant to us in Australia as users. SO I definetly gonna sub and cant wait for the next video brother.
This is very unfortunate if it comes to this. They are slowly giving up their identity if they go through with this.
I know, but they got no choice. Messaging is different now. RCS relies on SIM carriers, and going after each company is difficult, so they are leaving everything to Google now.
They should talk to Google to include samsung messages app features...

That's actually not a bad idea
I think google will implement some of Samsung messages best and most useful features into Google messages. It does make sense to only have one main default messaging app.
My s23 changed to google messages as a default and when I tried to change it back it warned me about how doing so would lose some features, so pretty clearly they're dropping samsung messages. Sadly. I much prefer just using samsung apps, and avoid google stuff where I can, but oh well, it is what it is.
How to send imessage
I went able to retrieve my Samsung messages back.
Google can be default, but not my main messages. it has too much extra stuff I DON'T NEED !!! i went to Samsung and reinstated the Samsung messages. Google is default.
Samsung Even don't care about it.
