      You think this commie talk is intelligent? 1st, their wasn't a genocide against Native americans. Most died from European diseases they were not immune too. Many also died from battles from just wars. The native Americans fought and battled for land among themselves, there have been mass graves found from the slaughter of tribes by rival tribes...so our war is just as justified as theirs. All of humanity has been a conquest for land until our current modern age. 2nd Slavery, America did not create slavery but was one of the first to end it. Thanks to the western world and America slavery was stopped. The word Slave come from Slav, the Slavic people of Europe were the first to be enslaved by Arabs. The Arabs also enslaved Africans and Asians. 3rd the Atomic bomb, any historian worth their salt will acknowledge the dropping of the bomb saved more lives that it killed. Japan was given an offer to admit defeat and end their empire but they said no. The US even dropped pamphlets warning of the coming bomb to save civilians. 4th millions of asian killed in war. China, Japan, Cambodia, Korea, have all killed more asians that America. Sure, I will acknowledge we don't belong on that side of the world but to say we are the "only country" is not true and naive of history and world events. This guy is a brainwashed loser. Good music but a complete dirty commie fool

For example in my conversation with him he asked if I'm originally from Texas. When I told him no, I was born in Mexico, he asked which part of Mexico. All the great people who have ever really changed the country, deeply criticized it. Complacency is an effect of apathy; those who don't look to criticize their background or doubt where they come from, don't care to grow and improve it and rot in stagnancy.

    • @malum9478
      @malum9478 ปีที่แล้ว

      there ain't nothin' wrong with the way we speak man. there's no such thing as "speaking [english] intelligently"--or at least not in the way you mean, the way we speak is as much intelligent as any other. it's a different dialect, but it has grammar, it has rules, it has cadence. the idea that our cultural creations are inferior to a more formal, businesslike, and yes, "white" way of speaking, is in of itself a product of white supremacy and colonialism. as if our way of speaking can't create poetry of the same caliber as shakespere. but we already know that ain't true, and we made a whole ass genre of music that proves it.
      the same attitude that says that is the same one that just a few decades ago said braiding and dreading our hair was bad.
      obviously, the true point is to speak as you want, but also don't look down at your fellow ethnic folk for our culture.

Mostly to show them I had a sense of humor, and to distance myself in their eye's from the poor Hispanics that they had no respect for.
      I wish I had not allowed it. Even if it effected my social life. Even if it led to fights. They were pissing in my face. I was allowing them to disrespect me by letting them talk shit about Hispanics like that. They would have said they were just kidding around or that I was being too sensitive. Maybe, but it was corrosive to my soul, and it allowed white privilege to grow and flourish within them. It helped continue our struggle within that community, and with those people. Everone who is criticizing him by what he says at the beginning with "america is a great country stfu!" or "it's better that this place or that place!" etc. is oblivious to what hes trying to say, I'm not saying I hate america or anything like that, the main thing what hes trying to say is that america still has its flaws and have done almost nothing to truly try and fix them. For years people have thrown a book of flaws at the back of america's head and insted of trying to "read the book" or understand the problems, america just throws the book back at the thrower's head or denies it and continue what is only aiding the financial part (sometimes) but its really hurting the people and mainly just itself, and thats what nobody likes about america, the ironic part with "We The People" but money is what will always truly comes first, not the people, but you sill have to admit that the people come second expecially if what america was for the money and also, i'm really impressed by that america almost or at least try to do things for the people (other countries completely ingnore that part), yes they ignore "The People" time and time again but thats mainly because money is involved but hey, at least america is not completely control freak about everything... ok its almost but still it has nearly kept its word for like 200 years that is something that some countries cannot do expecially if its for "The People" so what i have to say to you america is just LISTEN! STOP THE SECRETS! and dont put the country into anarchy

      I just think of RATM as the greatest punk band ever (they may play rap metal but they do punk attitude better than any punk band).
      And like you say, we need to listen more seriously to others constructive criticism, but it's everyone elses' job to generate constructive criticism for our benefit. A lot of bigotry and invective is thrown at USA lately, and it's hard to hear the reasonable voices in the background sometimes.
      Zack's account of historical footnotes involving slavery and the bomb are interesting but useless as contemporary criticism. And his cynical bitching about the rich could have been helpful had he put his ideological goggles away for a second and talked reasonably and knowledgeably about income gaps.
      I think America is better today that it has ever been before. I think the biggest change has come from other countries ability to compete on the playing field America helped to create. In other words, I'm not sure America got worse so much as everyone else just got quantum leaps better.

You make a joke out of it which displays your arrogance and I hope people who upvote this comment and have some empathy for other cultures and realize that the op of this thread is a piece of shit because he doesn't.

      Alexander Share I am not talking about that. I am talking about the attitude that there is something WRONG with how they do it. That is arrogance and that is the seed for racism and bigotry.

    20 years later, everything her says is still relevant. The world needs more men like Zack who can speak the truth and get their message out to millions. I still get chills when I read the lyrics to Ashes in the Fall.

      The USA is the most powerful secular liberal democratic republic in history, and more importantly at the present. Yes, mistakes have been made by the USA, and corruption is a real thing, but they are minor infractions compared to what most countries, both throughout history and some at the present, have done. The USA was complicit in some pretty terrible things too, such as slavery and genocide, but many people within the country have always sought to abolish and/or reconcile these things. No society in the history of the world has improved faster than the USA has.
