To correct Daz, zombies CAN be quiet and stealthy... when the plot demands it. Ya know how certain characters get "ambushed" by zombies or jumped by one out of the blue? Plot demanded that character be killed off. They'll moan and growl all day long but suddenly they know when to hunker down and sneak on their prey. Happened in The Walking Dead tons of times to kill off characters, the plot and writers demanded it.
In the walking dead at hilltop they used the cans as an alarm…it was Maggie’s idea to alert them of walkers. Which is funny because it’s not snark that’s just gonna bring more of them…
