I'd honestly just be happy if I could play Max Payne 3 as is on the Xbox One. But since it never sold well originally, they didn't invest the time to make it backwards compatible. But a Max Payne 1&2 remake would be awesome. Considering 2020 is the year of reboots, remasters and remakes, there's no better time than now to at least announce a retelling of the film noir lovestory. The Mafia 1 remake was apparently a side project while they were working on a new game. Could be a lot of fun for devs to just follow a preset path to get their minds off something new. To everyone saying that NFS MW 05/ NFS Underground 2 needs a remaster, remember that Black Box is dead. And also, the graphics on those games aged to a point where it needs a remake, not a remaster.
I replayed them a week ago on an emulator and they felt very outdated. Underground 2 especially. The controls and handling of cars. Most Wanted is more tolerable but still not as good as I remember it.

Actually it is.. -Stellar Entertainment, the one making these remasters, do Criterion games because they're familiar with them. If they made a remake of a black box game it would be horrible since they have no experience with it. -EA doesn't have licensing to the cars or music used in the game, and it isn't cheap. -The original devs aren't around anymore, they're either defunct or moved on to other stuff and aren't associated with EA or Criterion. So yes, it's actually really difficult. Keep asking for your MW 05 and Underground 2 remasters... they'll never happen.
Finally I am reacquainted with my beloved Pagani Zonda. Many many late nights on the Ps3 with online friends. Seacrest county I will be glad to run thru you again at high speeds. Let's go. Bring it on.
Just got the game yesterday on the 360 for $12 bucks from Walmart and I’m actually having fun and I see nothing wrong with the graphix , just love racing .

All I want is for the gameplay to feel _exactly_ the same as it used to. The simplicity of the game (no story, no characters, just driving), and the perfect arcade feel are what made this game for me. This is sacred ground they’re treading on, they better tread softly.

Two years later got it on sale for switch 9 bucks. And damn after two races it feels soooo good. Sure its not super crisp resolution wise but the feel of it. The sounds of the engines. Its amazing. Doesnt feel super clunky even without analog triggers

Surviving level 5 with 25 pimped out corvettes + the occasional cross corvette chasing you + the frequent rammers, roadblocks, choppers and spike strips was exhilarating imo. Unlikely, remaking old NFS games like MW05 are not only need to renew all the cars' licenses and soundtracks, also have to rehire all actors and actresses to redo all the cutscenes of the older game, which it's not going to be the same.

You may think it's easy to make them by saying but it won't be the same to redo them all in CGI animation. @@channe3049 They can re-purchase any license from current copyright owners. Same goes for soundtracks . Old, new doesn't matter. Forza Horizon 4 has 60-70 year old branded cars in the game. If they can do that , there will be no issue for a studio like EA. Remake's meaning is to modernize an old game. Its always beneficial for gamers as well as studios to do that.
HOT PURSUIT was the best multi-player from the NFS franchise. I am so very excited for this game and to get back racing with all my frienemies back then. Who ever was a true hotpursuit player, im sure u remember the name LEMARLIEGE

Pirating the damn thing could put them in a risk of getting sued by the government, and the EAGL engine is a different type of beast to handle compared to RenderWare/Chameleon. I had it on PC but recently the game won’t start no matter what I do. So I picked it up on my PS4 pro today for £20 I think the game will be much more fun on console with a controller. Installing it now watch this space!

Porsche themselves respect EA for creating PU(they even made Porsche licence an exclusive for EA till 2015) and will give them licences for every single Porsche only excluding Dauer 962. There were no cutscenes at all and music could be replaced.
@draikhart144p games before Blackbox’s releases (Pre-Underground) were fairly like the HP2010 game - All on Speed, supercars, and arcade action. There are no cutscenes aside from the opening videos when you open up the games. Licenses might be fairly easy for these games because it’s all supercars, and some American cars on the go. Not sure if the SLR McLaren were in the older titles so there’s that
Criterion has made the worst need for speeds out of all of them. I'm very nervous to see what the new game will look like. Also very disappointed they remastered this hot pursuit and not one of the old ones.
They left out the one thing hot pursuit needed, cops in freeroam. Really, this game was amazing but it needed more in freeroam and now they do a remaster and forget to add the one thing we all actually wanted, hot pursuits in freeroam.😥😔
I didn't like The Run, the game wasn't downright horrible but it's not good either, story was way too short and I hated the main character Jack I found him to be a very annoying character
True, the graphics are amazing the gameplay is challenging and satisfying, it is without a doubt my favorite racing game of all time, and i played all the Nfs games. The avalanche race the most creative race i have ever seen in a game and the best, the only complaint i have is that its too short.

Dunno, with this game winning 7 different awards on the year it was released? I’d say this is the perfect NFS game to be remastered. Would love to have one for Rivals too, it’s great, it’s so spiritual to the older NFS titles with a more violent Hot Pursuit in it, but it’s riddled with bugs. Of course it was Ghost Games’ first take on NFS so that issue would arise, but still would love fixes for it.
1:55 actually, the 6 hours of new content is all the post launch DLC integrated into the story mode. I wish they would give us that much new content, but they don't love us that much.

That's why the biggest arcade car games all support wheel, and this is why Hot Pursuit 2010 supported wheel as well. And even outside that argument, it makes no sense to remove a feature the game you are remastering had in the first place.
@@Max-zs6ur i also don't agree with removing the feature but a wheel is optional in most racers tho. Using wheel is only inevitable in most realistic and hardcore simulators like GTR2 where precision is everything. A controller will do its job perfectly in every arcade and most sims. Wheel just creates unnessesary delay and you'll get exhausted sooner.
I don't get why they still don't allow friends to join games as a team so you don't end up on different teams when playing cops vs racers. it's so annoying.
@@Darkboy5109 They won't. Because the game's assets and codes were already long abandoned and the cars' licenses along with soundtracks were long expired, renew and recover them all will cost EA tons of money which they won't spend that much to do the remaster.
Criterion was the beginning of the end for NFS (I've been playing it since the very first one), they made it for consoles and ported it to PC and it went fully arcade. Then when joystick support disappeared that was it for me. Would it kill them to make it controller agnostic?
Nope in a way, your PS4 trophies of this game will not carry over to ps4/ps5. I was really pissed. I was 1 away from Platinum & now I have to start again? NOPE!

@Wuanslm yes, but even gameplay evolves. 10 year old games have game mechanics that were considered great at the time, but now are ridiculous and feel weird. Not all games, but many of them. Then you have the half-baked remasters where the graphics are only improved on resolution & shadows, so textures, surfaces, lighting etc. still look bad or even worse in big 4K screens. For example, I would love to see a Mass Effect trilogy remake or deep remaster, but I'm afraid that playing ME1 now with better graphics would be disappointing as far as gameplay, RPG mechanics, shooting, platforming, bosses etc. are concerned...
I don't buy remasters b/c I can just download/install mods. Nexus mods FTW :) Case-in-point, that MEUITM mod for Mass Effect 1. Perfect remaster. Yeah I'd only actually spend $ on a remake. The Final Fantasy 7 one was awesome.

Honestly would love to see “the run” remastered it was I think the last need for speed on consoles like xb360 and ps3 and honestly it had a good story
the run already looks amazing tbh, i don't think it needs any update on the graphics except for 60 fps on modern console.
This is one of my favorite racing games ever. I don't see a need to upgrade from the current PC version though

I had it on PC but recently the game won’t start no matter what I do. So I picked it up on my PS4 pro today for £20 I think the game will be much more fun on console with a controller. Installing it now watch this space!
if you have the 2010 version open the folder go to config and change the resolution it worked for me

I thought this was going to be a remaster of the old need for speed hot pursuit 3 and Porsche unleashed.Those were the best need for speed games on originial PlayStation and I loved the tracks and the cars.A remaster of those games would be fantastic.
@draikhart144p Porsche Unleashed would go easy on licences. Porsche themselves respect EA for creating PU(they even made Porsche licence an exclusive for EA till 2015) and will give them licences for every single Porsche only excluding Dauer 962. There were no cutscenes at all and music could be replaced.
@draikhart144p games before Blackbox’s releases (Pre-Underground) were fairly like the HP2010 game - All on Speed, supercars, and arcade action.
There are no cutscenes aside from the opening videos when you open up the games.
Licenses might be fairly easy for these games because it’s all supercars, and some American cars on the go. Not sure if the SLR McLaren were in the older titles so there’s that

Criterion has made the worst need for speeds out of all of them. I'm very nervous to see what the new game will look like.

They left out the one thing hot pursuit needed, cops in freeroam. Really, this game was amazing but it needed more in freeroam and now they do a remaster and forget to add the one thing we all actually wanted, hot pursuits in freeroam.😥😔
HP 2010 has cop free roam. You just need to hover on a cop mission and press right Ctrl.

I didn't like The Run, the game wasn't downright horrible but it's not good either, story was way too short and I hated the main character Jack I found him to be a very annoying character
True, the graphics are amazing the gameplay is challenging and satisfying, it is without a doubt my favorite racing game of all time, and i played all the Nfs games.
The avalanche race the most creative race i have ever seen in a game and the best, the only complaint i have is that its too short.

Dunno, with this game winning 7 different awards on the year it was released? I’d say this is the perfect NFS game to be remastered.
Would love to have one for Rivals too, it’s great, it’s so spiritual to the older NFS titles with a more violent Hot Pursuit in it, but it’s riddled with bugs. Of course it was Ghost Games’ first take on NFS so that issue would arise, but still would love fixes for it.

1:55 actually, the 6 hours of new content is all the post launch DLC integrated into the story mode. I wish they would give us that much new content, but they don't love us that much.

You missed ps5 and series x framerate and resolutions!... Probably the most useful of information going in to next gen
You forgot to mention that DLC content wasn't originally available on PC platform, it was consoles-exclusive.
PC will be limited to 4k resolution with 60FPS in order to keep competitive comparison to console players.

I really don’t want PC to be allowed into cross play. Way too easy to mod and cheat in games. And that’s for ANY game. PC game developers, distributors and moderators really need to step their anti cheat game up

Why the heck would you need a wheel in a game with that arcadey physics and which will require quick reaction? A controller is perfectly fine.

Wheel can be used fine with arcade games too, using the hood view. That's why the biggest arcade car games all support wheel, and this is why Hot Pursuit 2010 supported wheel as well. And even outside that argument, it makes no sense to remove a feature the game you are remastering had in the first place.
@@Max-zs6ur i also don't agree with removing the feature but a wheel is optional in most racers tho. Using wheel is only inevitable in most realistic and hardcore simulators like GTR2 where precision is everything. A controller will do its job perfectly in every arcade and most sims. Wheel just creates unnessesary delay and you'll get exhausted sooner.

I don't get why they still don't allow friends to join games as a team so you don't end up on different teams when playing cops vs racers. it's so annoying.

@@Darkboy5109 They won't. Because the game's assets and codes were already long abandoned and the cars' licenses along with soundtracks were long expired, renew and recover them all will cost EA tons of money which they won't spend that much to do the remaster.

Criterion was the beginning of the end for NFS (I've been playing it since the very first one), they made it for consoles and ported it to PC and it went fully arcade. Then when joystick support disappeared that was it for me. Would it kill them to make it controller agnostic?

Remaster the O.G nfs games like carbon, underground, underground 2 most wanted (2005) pro street and hot pursuit 2 the one from ps2.

All the remastered games I've bought on the pc I've ended up uninstalling not long after installing. If you're not gonna do something properly, then don't do it at all 👎.
@Wuanslm yes, but even gameplay evolves. 10 year old games have game mechanics that were considered great at the time, but now are ridiculous and feel weird. Not all games, but many of them.
Then you have the half-baked remasters where the graphics are only improved on resolution & shadows, so textures, surfaces, lighting etc. still look bad or even worse in big 4K screens.
For example, I would love to see a Mass Effect trilogy remake or deep remaster, but I'm afraid that playing ME1 now with better graphics would be disappointing as far as gameplay, RPG mechanics, shooting, platforming, bosses etc. are concerned...
I don't buy remasters b/c I can just download/install mods. Nexus mods FTW :) Case-in-point, that MEUITM mod for Mass Effect 1. Perfect remaster. Yeah I'd only actually spend $ on a remake. The Final Fantasy 7 one was awesome.

Dont worry a hacked switch this game will run at little under 720p or at 720p 60 fps in handheld mode and little over 50 fps at 1080p in docked mode.
